Avatar f tn I think the question you ask about how one defines "natural" points out that this is a gray zone! I don't know about Isogenics, but some forms of fasting/detoxing can be done with natural products. However, I do know that I've never met a cow that "naturally" produces FF dairy. I'm getting confused as to why this forum seems to be taking the stance of "my diet is better than yours" lately.
Avatar f tn Well, me personaly would never do this diet. A diet, honestly should not have to invovle drugs or to take a shot or antyhing.
Avatar n tn Purely anecdotal, but I was able to normalize my enzymes 2-3 times during the 40 years prior to treatment. In all these instances I adhered to a strict low fat diet, namely the "Pritkin" diet where total fat calories add up to no more than 10% of total daily calories. Protein is also limited on this diet so it's basically high carb, low fat, low-moderate protein. That said, some will say that a more balanced "Zone" type diet is better for the liver.

Avatar f tn Obviously I have the Diet Diary App, for the past week I've been dieting-calorie counting. I've not eaten over 1700calss which is what the app set me. I've been eating all healthy foods with good meals too. I've been jogging 2/3 times a week, swimming once a week and sit ups 4/5 times a week with bits of walking in there. From Monday to Monday I've lost 1lb. Feeling a bit disheartened. Im 5ft 8 and weigh 11.9 after my 1lb loss.
Avatar m tn Lots of opinions ("professional" and other) re diet/nutrition. What is working for me now, is a "South Beach/Zone" type of diet which is basically lean meat/fish and vegetables. Almost no starch (bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, etc) and very little fruit -- maybe one portion three times a week. With this diet -- and copious amounts of exercise -- Ive lost ten pounds, brought my cholesterol down from 200 to 150 and normalized my bp from pre-hypertensive.
987762 tn?1671273328 I'm back from my test, just 3 hours to test my cognitive functions, i feel like a mashmellow, all guey brain and spongey legs but i still came out within the normal range. Now that means i've dropped by 2 or more standard deviations, previously dx as gifted (2 standard deviations above average = gifted 130+ IQ) mum was never given a number just that i was highly gifted and skipped me into secondary school at 10, all my family have IQ's in the 160 range.

Avatar n tn To lose fat--hence, tone up--you will likely need to focus on your diet. Aim for a high protein, high fiber, and low carb diet. Because you are already very fit, if you intend to cut calories, you have to be careful how much you cut. Do not go overboard here. You only need a slight calorie deficit to make a difference (250 a day at most). Also consider that sometimes the "fat" we think we have is actually just water.
Avatar n tn I agree with Verona and also urge you to consider a diet (life plan change) as the Zone diet or SOuth Beach Both these diets control insulin and are very helpful with weight in hypothyroid patients. I found the Zone plan to be better. I have taken off about 7 to 10 pounds - I still bloat at times - but I do feel better.
135456 tn?1301437624 At least from one old thread, my understanding is that HR advocates more of a Zone (balanced) diet, as opposed to a very low fat diet like Pritikin which has total fat calories under 10% of total calories. As far as treatment is concerned, with me and many others, an "optimum" diet was but an academic discussion, because the real problem was finding a palpable diet that one could both figuratively and literally stomach.

That poses a problem when it comes to taking a test 2 hrs after eating as I am nibbling throughout day. Any helpful hints? Also, I am not having any troubles keeping my sugar down during the day. It has been anywhere from 93-110.

Avatar f tn So Ive had success losing it but always manage to gain it back. Obviously, diet and exercise are key. I am on a high protein diet, the paleo diet. Not only do I use the treadmill but I also life weights. The weight won't just fall off. Remember, it took a while to get where you are, it is going to take a while and a lot of work to get it off. It is doable though.

I'm still a little on edge, but I'm not freaking out at every little thing like I was before. I feel lucky too because there were a few points I did start spotting and my obgyn always is able to get me in for a quick check to ease my mind about our growing little one. ♡ Something I also found that helped anxiety was getting a lavender sachet. Sniffing it calmed my anxiety down.
Avatar n tn My boyfriend (age 51) has consistently high PSA, over 8. DRE showed no hard lump. Prostate biopsy showed only 1 of 12 points is positive. The urologist still cannot conclude if it is cancer. He mentioned zero stage. His PSA is always at the range of 7.5 to 8.5 Problem of varicocele was found in his scrotum. Could this be the cause of high PSA? Please reply. Thanks.

Avatar f tn So about 8 years ago I was Dx. with PCOS. I gained a lot of stomach weight, overnight. About this time I suddenly had heart pvc's & Pac's. Hospital was saying it was anxiety, so I had another Hospital decide to keep me and luckily I had a small episode of V-tac occur. I was never so happy, FINALLY. Or so I thought. I had every test you can imagine and finally my cardio sent me to an Electrophysiologist. All my tests were benign and I was told to deal with it.
