Avatar n tn I'd take magnesium tablets and Metamucil (it comes in pills or powder form) and a probitoc and see if these things set you right. If not, have you added more dairy or soy to your diet lately?

Avatar m tn I have had colits for about two years now. Though, I was wondering if anyone else has had sores appear on their tongue? Just last month, I was washing my hands and noticed I had three red areas on my tongue: two on the tip and one a little to the side. I was reading online that ulcerative colitis can cause sores to appear in your mouth and didn't know if this was a cause for the sores to appear.
Avatar n tn She can do a stool test for something called C. difficile toxin to see if you have the antibiotic associated colitis (pseudomembranous colitis) and she can prescribe an antibiotic for you (usually Metronidazole). I suggest seeing your doctor as soon as possible and not delay, as I can see you have been having trouble for some time by looking at your previous posts.
Avatar n tn s helped tremendously.... Diet does matter. If you want any more feedback or diet info, mail me.
Avatar m tn m not a heavy drinker, my diet is OK and I exercise a lot so I think it is a genuine problem. It worries me more that my father has Crohn's and I may have inherited it. Any help is appreciated. Many Thanks, Conor.
Avatar f tn Get a book called "Breaking The Vicious Cycle". It is a diet for people with Crohn's, Colitis and Celiac. I have just started it. A friend of mine who has Colitis introduced me to the diet and he has been in remission for 4 years now. It may not work for everyone, but its worth a try.

535089 tn?1400673519 I can do some research and get back to you but I am not diet savey. My son has Inflammatory Bowel Disease but his diet will be different than a liquid one I really believe that the OTC antacid and it's effectiveness depends on the person. Rolaids seem to work the best for me. But 5 years ago Tums worked better. Be careful taking an antacid. There are many medications that the antacid will reduce it's effectiveness or is not recommend at all.
Avatar m tn I have done a bit of research and it does sound like Amebic colitis, gastric ulcer, Polyps, Ulcerative Colitis or Crones disease. I just don't really know what to do next. Shall I go back to my GP and ask them to take samples of my blood stool?? Some people are telling me to completely change my diet and eat more fiber / fresh fruit etc. Your advice would be much appreciated...
203342 tn?1328737207 I’m starting to get a little worried what this could be. I’m wondering if it’s gastritis or a stomach ulcer. I do have a history of Crohn’s but mild and thought I was in remission. I see a gastroenterologist every 3-5 years for a colonoscopy and I’m due for one again. I was hesitant to make an appointment right now with everything going on and thought maybe it could wait but it’s really uncomfortable and nothing helps ease it, apparently. It’s very tender if I press on my abdomen area.
Avatar f tn had a CT scan done with oral contrast and IV contrast. Everything seemed to be normal in the report except for some mildly enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes and region of the ileocecal valve normal except for a few adjacent mildly prominent nodes. What does that mean? I was diagnosed with microscopic colitis in 2014. And since October 2016 I haven't been right diarrhea mostly and just overall feeling of unwell.
Avatar n tn Hi, Ulcerative colitis is a form of inflammatory bowel disease . Ulcerative colitis is a form of colitis, a disease of the colon , that includes characteristic ulcers, or open sores. The main symptom of active disease is usually constant diarrhea mixed with blood, of gradual onset. IBD is often confused with irritable bowel syndrome , a troublesome, but much less serious, condition.
Avatar n tn Colitis is very common for all kinds of cats, feral or otherwise. The problem is determining what's causing it. Persistent colitis can be a sign of serious mental health issues (stress, commonly) or physical illness (right up to FIV/FLV-Aids & Leukemia). Before I get to complicated with diet, I have to ask; was the cause of the colitis determined? If it's food specific/allergy, than you would need a very specific diet. Generally a carb-high protein diet.
Avatar f tn cancer, ulcerative colitis, crohns. I have to have a colonoscopy. With my symptoms what is the likely outcome? Any ideas? I do not think it is cancer, there is no history of cancer, but I know nothing about crohns or UC.
Avatar m tn Its so bad i cant work cause every day just about im running to the tolit.Does this sound like colitis at all?Im going to make an appot to go back and see the doc even though it was a year ago but i am wondering if that sounds like colitis at all to any of you?I mean why would i have 2 things that look like ulcer and diarrhea all the time if i dont have ulcerativ colitits.I really dont wana do all those tests over again i just wanna know what i have.what do you think?
Avatar n tn Thank you for replying. No I'm not any oral meds, only on the Colifoam, and for the pain I'm taking co-codamol dispersable tablets. The bleeding has eased now but I've still got the trots(!) Diet isn't an issue at the moment because I'm still really off my food, just eating a little. Never had colitis before, but I've had the c-diff infection and apparently my colitis is a direct result of that.
Avatar m tn Chronic hepatitis raises the probability of liver cancer. Chronic gastric ulcer and colitis could also increase the risk of stomach cancer and colon cancer." Although chronic inflammation is one of the causes of many tumors, there is absolutely no research to prove when people doesn't completely treat prostatitis that will lead to cancer of the prostate. Prostatitis has nothing related to cancer of the prostate, and yes it does not improve the incidence of prostate cancer.
