Avatar f tn Hi :-) We have the same problem! I used to be 175lb when I was 13, and since then have got down to 133lb with a bit of a spare tyre around my waist! I'm also 5'2". You're absolutely right when you say you're not 'fat' - in fact this website has shown me that my (and yours) BMI (Body Mass Index) is completely normal for our height, so make sure you don't want to lost too much weight. I'd like to get down to 110lb.

The first time i lost the weight i did 1000 stomach crunches a day & that seemed to keep my stomach flat but i'm worried that the skin, not the muscles, is sagging on my arms & stomach. I know that this can happen when people loose alot of weight. I have bought some weights to help tone my arms but dont know which techniques to try.

Avatar f tn For your age, you need 1800-2000 daily. To help with your stomach, do 'crushes' and/or yoga which will tone up your stomach. As you exercise you are building lean body muscle mass which weight more than fat so a scale will reflect no weight loss when in fact the body is trimming down fat. Measure your waist and hips as a guide for trimming down. The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser.

I have tried to lose weight and eat healthy but it seems like my stomach is not going anywhere and it is quite embarrassing. I have looked at maybe it being fibroids but I dont have pain in my menstrual cycle. Please someone help me in the right direction.

Avatar f tn I'm a 17 yr old female and i'm not overweight (roughly 9 st and 5'3) but i feel i need to tone up and loose a bit of weight from my thighs and stomach and bum. I don't want to diet as its too annoying and im starting college soon but i'm planning on reducing snacks and sweet things. I also do 15 mins of running a day and 10 reverse crunches or whatever theyr'e called. I'm really unfit so i will gradually increase the time and amount of exersices.

Try 30 minutes/day for at least 3 days/week. Lifting weights will also help. You don't need a gym for this. You can buy small hand held weight, or even use cans of vegetables or bottles of water for a 1 pound weight.
Avatar f tn When running or walking tense your stomach, walking or running is great excercise but tensing the stomach muscles adds a whole new element to it and will tone you up. Sometimes for tone to appear on our stomachs we have to lose weight first. I invested in underwear/support wear to define and sculp the figure, especially your stomach and sides, and it makes me feel a lot better about going on nights out ect. Some aren't very expensive and a great investment for a little confidence boost.

Avatar f tn I personally believe you have to do a combination of different exercises to tone your stomach not just sit ups and crunches. you need to be doing cardio to burn the fat and different ab exercises in addition to crunches like the reverse crunch, the bicycle crunch, jacknifes, etc..!! I am trying to tone my stomach as well my goal was 20lbs and i have lost half that so now im doing toning i cant tell you exactly what works but im doing both and hoping for results!!

I have had 0 babies and i was pushing 140 b4 starting here working and out and such. This wasn't so high that my stomach will not tone now is it? I'm just curious lol and paranoid!! I dont expect over nite mircacles i just hope with hard work it will be alot of different!!
