Avatar m tn I do believe that my high BP may be a permanent issue, but I am going to try to do a very intensive diet/exercise/weight loss regime for the coming year, to see if I can get the numbers to normal, and potentially either reduce or eliminate the BP drugs. We will see what happens. I am about 15 pounds over my normal weight, and almost 20 pounds over my tx weight. My diet has been haphazard as well, and sleep habits have been not very disciplined.

If hypertension happens in young, then a secondary cause of hypertension should always be suspected like renal artery stenosis. Try to limit salt intake, sugars, caffeine and alcohol and eat a healthy diet consisting more of fruits and vegetables. You should respond to weight management and other lifestyle changes but if the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a physician.
