Avatar m tn Hello, For dandruff, eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.

Avatar f tn The problem could be with your shampoo. Try using a different brand and some oil on your scalp. Jojoba oil or olive oil is recommended. Some have tried tea tree oil - but it's so very strong and smells awful. My mother had some success with olive oil. I hope this helps. Give your body some time to adjust to the birth-control shots. The more you worry, the more hair will fall. also, don't use a sharp comb - try a softer hairbrush a natural one if you can afford it.
Avatar f tn Some cats just naturally shed more than others. My short hair cats aren't so bad but the long hair ones seem to shed forever. For one of my cats, I used to make little mousies, complete with tails and pointed noses, out of his shedded hair. I hope that doesn't sound too disgusting, but seriously the shedding is completely normal this time of year. ((>^.

Your hair falls out as new strands grow... this is natural but it is different for each woman depending on age, hair type, etc. so it is hard to say what is normal for you.

9562964 tn?1416928231 The above suggestions can be a bit harsh, especially if your scalp is damaged or sensitive. Stress and diet as well as medications can affect hair fall, however genetics do play a strong role. Don't go overboard with dandruff shampoos, you may not need to use it everyday. Other alternatives include a shampoo that include tea tree oil or a basic clarifying one.
Avatar m tn Hi, my daughter is 7yrs old. She has been losing a lot of hair for the past 2 weeks. Her hair dropped even when she did not comb it. Brought her to a pediatrician and he said that it could be due to a fever 3 months ago and the hair loss can last up till a month. Is there any treatment to help her improve the situation? She has long hair now, will it help if I cut her hair short? How serious can it be? Will it lead to bald hair? Is this common among children?

It is nonscarring alopecia characterized by diffuse hair shedding, often with an acute onset. There is a chronic form also which persists for a longer duration and starts with insidious onset. Chronic telogen effluvium is hair shedding lasting longer than 6 months. Treatment consists of medications like Minoxidil, surgical approach(hair transplantation) and improvement in diet.

Avatar f tn Chronic anxiety, social phobias, post-traumatic stress syndrome, etc. are normal parts of the day-to-day life, and it is necessary to learn how to get rid of them rather than living with them. It's normal to get anxious before addressing a group of people or stress out before your first meeting with a new client.
