Avatar n tn Feelingbad, you're going to have to do a lot of your own cooking, but you should be able to slowly avoid all the foods that you're having a problem with. It's difficult, but doable. It may be the only way you're going to be able to feel well in the future, since you can't and shouldn't rely on steroids to try to knock the problem down. Even when it's 'beaten back,' it's still going to be there since you're evidently reacting to specific food triggers.
Avatar m tn Maybe you are eating too healthy.Sounds like to much bulk in your diet. Maybe too much fiber? I know when I take too much metamucil or eat too much wheat I get like that. Maybe its just eating to much fiber or bulk. Just a suggestion and an easy one to at least try. Why the probiotics if you are eating a healthy diet? Maybe your flora is properly balanced from your diet and do not need to be taking them?

433485 tn?1321813390 My dil is a medical assistant and I have asked her in the past about to much fiber, she said there is no such thing. Fiber yes may bulk up but it attaches to the wall/lining of the colon/intestines and pulls the junk/garbage from it, which is exactly what you want it to do. Key is drink plenty of fluids with the fiber to help flush the process through. I am in this "misery" with you all. I have suffered with chronic constipation since 2001 after my hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn BOTH! You definitely need more fiber, it adds bulk to your stool. Fiber in constipation helps move the stool along relieving the constipation, but one has to be careful when adding fiber to their diet when constipated, making sure they are adding the right ones for their problem.
Avatar f tn The way to put on weight in a healthy fashion is to continue to eat a healthy diet but just to eat more of it than you are now (meaning, now when you are losing weight). In the rare case where the issue is that the person is so active that he is burning off all of his food, it might also help to be slightly less active. But for most people who lose weight not on purpose, having an excessive activity level is not the problem.
Avatar n tn s improve, if not then add that back and try another. It is truly trial and error with his diet. Bulk building foods are normally best. Also, I would contact his doctor about this and see if he is able to take an anti-diarrhea medication to help. My son took Immodium in the beginning for his, prescribed by his doctor. To add that you do regular cardio for an hour for 6 days a week with proper diet control. Proper diet control is not dieting, it is choosing proper food. Take care!

Actually being an American they have never commented on my size because they hold us to different standards. One student wanted to know why I was so thin as an American. I think this is a sad example of how our diet is now being viewed almost as a genetic trait in our country.

Keep in mind the number on the scale is showing your new weight with full milking breasts :D It can play some tricks on you. Try just going off of how well your pants are fitting v/s looking at the scale. That sometimes helps initially when you are getting your body back into place.

Likely, you're like me and this is an intolerance. It's still necessary to AVOID this stuff in the future. There are a lot of bad health effects associated with artificial sweeteners--all of them. The primary one, of course, being that they are known carcinogenics.
1330395 tn?1275233710 re working on a calorie-restricted diet or zone/low carb diet, you can make allowances in your intake to include a mid-evening snack. For me, I allow 100 extra calories in my intake so that at about 8pm I have something satisfying that kills cravings, like a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and a double handful of blueberries. The small fat content in the cheese, and modest protein content, prevents me from coming back an hour later to empty the fridge.

Avatar n tn I had my gallbladder removed about 6 years ago and I was going at least 6 to 12 times a day and when I had to go I had to go now! Very urgent. I went to my family doc and he said I needed to bulk up with fiber. I didn't think that would help but I tried it. Tried a lot of things that didn't work. I then tried Cholestyramine. That helped with the urgency but I was still going 5 to 8 times a day.

Avatar n tn I think in general, increasing the amount of fat and protein in your diet (preferably unsaturated fat and lean protein), portion size, and carbohydrates, you will easily put on weight/bulk up. Unless you have some kind of underlying thyroid issue, I don't see why milkshakes and a larger diet wouldn't help you out. I doubt you are suffering from malnutrition, but if you are, remember it's important to see a doctor/nutritionist to see what your nutritional deficits are. Good Luck!
Avatar m tn t contain gluten in it, because so much of the American diet revolves around wheat. The key to avoiding such frustration is to learn to do your own cooking. There are actually plenty of things to eat that don't contain gluten. You just have to know where to look. Shop the perimeter of the store. Nearly everything in the middle of the store isn't good for anyone anyway, because it's all processed foods, which are terrible for people with IBS in the first place.

If you want to add bulk to your biceps and triceps you will have to work your arms with weights. If you want to add bulk to your shoulders then you will have to work your shoulders. The amount of exercise needed to gain weight is dependent on your diet of carbohydrates and protein.
