Common Questions and Answers about Diet soda with stevia

Avatar f tn Ok, so I cut regular soda out of my diet. I normally drink water, diet can iced tea (or fresh) and seltzer. Now my question is.... is diet soda OK in moderation? Like when me and my bf go to a mall, water gets so boring and the fast food places generally never have seltzer water. So therefore I'm forced with diet soda (YUCK). Is it ok just on the weekends? I mean I guess I'm doing something right, I've lost 30.5bs since 9/14 (not even 3 months yet) and still have another 12.
Avatar f tn What is everyone's thoughts on drinking diet soda? I know they say to stay away from artificial sugars, but I've been drinking diet soda forever & I'm having a hard time giving it up. Is one a day bad?
Avatar f tn I can't drink the stuff....to me, diet sodas taste sour and have a chemical flavor that makes me sick to my stomach... aspartame perhaps? I really try to not drink any sodas these days unless when I eat out (rarely) or am at a celebration of some kind.
Avatar f tn No its definitly the asparteme that is bad, but thats the reason you should never drink diet soda. Asparteme is pure poison. Just do your research on it. Also watch out for pedialite for babies they started putting that crap in there too. Your much better off with a sugary soda then that stuff. You want to take it easy on the caffeine too, but I would definitly worry more about the asparteme then anything.
Avatar f tn Basically you need to cut out soda, candy stuff like that. Substitute white rice, bread, pasta with wheat. There's a really great pasta that's high in omega 3 & protein that tastes just like "normal" pasta. Eat lots of veggies, fruits & lean cuts of meat. Go exercise!
Avatar f tn White carbs (white bread, flour pasta, crackers, white rice, pastries, donuts, etc) Sugar (no white or brown sugar, no sugar substitutes, no honey) No soda (no regular or diet soda) No fruit juice (unless organic, all natural and unsweetened) No energy drinks, gatorade etc.
Avatar f tn I think one of them was giving up diet soda and the last one was eating a piece of 100% WHOLE GRAIN bread with extra virgin olive oil on it before you eat. Apparently if you eat this before dinner.... you will lose weight.
Avatar f tn Almost all diet or sugar free beverages contain artificial sweeteners. If you find a drink with stevia in it then that's great but past that you want to avoid it. Especially aspartame!! Reading ingredients on everything is unfortunately just something we all have to do now for the sake of our babies. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn Try diet root beer, zevia is a diet root beer that uses stevia instead of splenda if you're against consuming food products with splenda. Also, if u get root beer from restaurants with soda fountains, they often have a tab for carbonated water. So you could try to dilute the soda with some carbonated water.
Avatar n tn s it) No soda No diet soda No sports, energy drinks No fruit juice (unless unsweetened, organic, all natural) No sugar No brown sugar No sugar substitutes No honey No potatoes No corn No vegetable oils No butter No whole milk No regular cheese No regular salt No red meat (once a week is okay, but limit it) No packaged foods (like Rice A Roni, Mac and Cheese, Ramen, Hamburger Helper) No frozen meals (except for frozen bags of vegetables) No canned vegetables (organic beans in a can are fine) No p
802086 tn?1237822194 I have been dieting for two weeks now and I am looking for more options when it comes to drinks that will work with a low calorie low carb diet. I was drinking diet Pepsi, but do not want the artificial sweeteners anymore, so that rules out all diet sodas and crystal light. I do not want any additional caffeine because I am taking Phentermine so that gets rid of tea. Besides water does anyone know of anything to drink with some flavor? Any suggestions would be great.
Avatar f tn Lol.awe. well at least u will be reminded of ur pregnancy every time you look at your driver license. I'm so sad.
Avatar f tn re addicted to sodas, you might want to wean off more slowly. Instead of stopping altogether, simply replace one soda with a glass of water. Tomorrow replace 2 sodas with water... keep going until water is your drink of choice. Add a slice of lemon to the water; makes it much more refreshing. You can also drink unsweetened tea. If you really need sweetener use stevia, which is a natural sweetener.
Avatar n tn Rinsing with a 1/4 tsp of baking soda and 1/4 cup water is good to make your mouth feel fresh too.
Avatar f tn Can drinking diet soda and using Equal in my coffee cause anxiety to get worse? I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression over a year ago. Neurontin helped the anxiety in the beginning but increasing the dose has not helped anymore. My doctor gave me Klonopin to use as needed and I only take 1/2 pill when I need to because a whole pill makes me way too sleepy. I drink 2 cups of coffee a day, but only at work, so 5 days a week. I also drink about 1 diet pepsi a day, every day.
Avatar f tn t agrue that the long-term effects of diet soda and other products with these sweeteners on health are not clearly established (some, like sucralose, haven't been on the market long enough for us to know how the general population will react). I decided last spring to quit all art. sweeteners, mainly becuase I think they make it harder for me to control my appetite.
1536593 tn?1292557199 I get severe head aches when I drink Diet Soda, off brand or not, could it be an intolerance to the artificial sweetener or an allergy?
Avatar f tn s fine in moderation, just like most things. I drank diet soda with both of my previous pregnancies and they were both healthy babies and are healthy kids so while I appreciate your concern, I didn't post this to hear how bad diet soda is for people.
Avatar f tn That what is until I started using stevia in my diet. Stevia is an all natural sugar substitute which comes from a plant in South America. There are some studies out there( although the studies are limited) that shows Stevia has an effect on blood sugar in a positive way. I started using stevia for about 3 days now. For 2 days already my blood sugar fasting levels in the morning dropped to 94 and 95. Does stevia have anything to do with it?
Avatar f tn Try to avoid anything with asparteme, most diet drinks use it now adays, and that stuff is pure poison. There are lots of recipies for making your own flavored water using different fruits. They can be really tasty.
Avatar f tn Thanks. I just wanted one diet root beer because I am dying for root beer lol.
Avatar f tn Of course, if need to stop all drugs from now on, eat healthy, stay hydrated with non-caffeinated, non-diet drinks (no sugar substitutes except for stevia) and continue with moderate exercise. Make sure you get careful prenatal care and be honest with your doctor about your drinking. If you don't trust your OB enough to be honest with them, find one that you do trust.
Avatar m tn Not as good as the white one in flavor. The best for your body is the green stevia. The stevia plant is green in color so I wonder what is being done to it to make it white. I would start with the green if I knew then what I know now.
278469 tn?1219245951 One more suggestion: Eliminate all aspartame from her diet. This got rid of both my migraines and seizures, which is wierd because I've been drinking diet soda for years with no problems. Since eliminating aspartame (in diet soda, "light" yogurt, sugarless gum, etc.), my short term memory is improved an amazing amount. I'd never go back! It's an easy thing, and worth a shot - it doesn't work for everyone, but why not try?
Avatar f tn I wonder if the diet products as sweetners and diet sodas make you fat ???
