Diet soda fatigue

Common Questions and Answers about Diet soda fatigue

Avatar f tn I thnk you make a good point about the money to be made from products with fake sweeteners. I've been listening to "Omnivore's dilemma" on audiobook and it sort of talks about that. Of course, the people trying to sell us food have to find ways to get us to eat more than we need, but there is a physical limit! By introducing reduced/low/no calorie options, all of the sudden that upper limit is gone, or atleast moved much higher.
572651 tn?1531002957 ) soda to me is an ice soda, and no one down here knows what that is. probably a good thing for me. no pizza and chips are bad for sugar levels. salt loading is hard when you are use to not using it. I hadn't been adding salt for years. when the power was out i said shoot and got a coke and a bag of chips. been paying for it since. I do remember when you could smoke everywhere. just walk into the doctor's office and copay's were ten dollars and that was it.
Avatar n tn I followed the protocol in KT's book and began my diet on the third day but Dr. Simmeon's protocol says to gorge for 3 days and then begin the diet. I don't know why there is a day difference in the protocols. Also I noticed that DR. Simmeon says to eat white fish but in KT's book he is specific about the white fish being halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder or sole. Is anyone following just Dr. Simmeon's protocol and if so are you eating other white fish like orange roughy or tilapia?
Avatar n tn I'm 13 weeks+ 5days pregnant with headaches and feeling fatigue myself. I know drinking 8oz of coke of soda will help, because the caffeine.
Avatar f tn That would contribute to knee problems for sure. As to fatigue, what is your lifestyle like? Do you eat well, take a multi vitamin, exercise? Those things aid in proper energy. I know that when I have caffeine as part of my day in the form of pop/soda, I'm always tired. I do better without that. What is your sleep pattern at night? Do you have any stress going on? And could you be depressed? Medications that you are taking? All these things could lead to fatigue?
Avatar m tn I apologize in advance. I have been looking at all the old posts about diet and it was getting overwhelming and some responses were a few years here goes... My 29 year old fiance was just diagnosed with CIS. His symptoms are tingling in hands and feet. He is going to start meds soon (I think Copaxone, but we haven't decided 100% yet). I am trying to find information on what type of "diet" or way of eating would best help alleviate his symptoms.
206710 tn?1269316459 With a lot of stress your adrenal glands get tired, so you need to take care of them. Many people benefit from a dietary supplement specifically targeted to the adrenals. You may also want to read the book "Adrenal Fatigue" I'm also curious about your diet Are you eating food that can make you sluggish hours later, like carbohydrates or soda, etc? It's worth taking a good look at your nutrition and overall health habits. Is your thyroid ok? Are you drinking alcohol?
Avatar f tn I've had fibro for about 12 years (or I should say I was diagnosed 12 years ago, but my docs and I both feel I probably "had" it for several years before that). I, personally, don't have trouble with nutrasweet (good thing because I don't care for "regular" soda, but do like the diet ones), however, I have found that Splenda does bother me. Not completely with the fibro symptoms, but a lot of gastric problems with it and headaches.
1773941 tn?1331680359 I was just wondering if anyone has tried the SWANK diet to control their MS? If so, how did it work for you and would you recommend it?
Avatar n tn I know you have been tested for it however I had similar symptoms and the majority of them went on away being on a Gluten Free diet. It will not hurt you to try a Gluten Free diet. All my tests have been normal including cat scans and ct on sinuses and even the sinus problems have cleared up.
Avatar n tn not saying at all that you shouldnt do that. my doc said with some fat and if nothing else make sure you eat Something. I have had a very hard time eating 20 g of fat 3 times a day. Lots of days I just dont feel Like I could eat anything when It is time to take the meds. I just do the best I can in a yucky situation. I do find my self justifying eating at Micky D's a little more. I have found that I am getting weird cravings. Big Macs, steaks, italian dressing, club soda, avacados.
Avatar f tn I rarely go for seconds, we eat off the small dinner plates I think some call them salad plates anyway they are not the saucer size. I've been thinking maybe I should start eating off a saucer. I drink lots of water. Soda Pops, chips, cookies, candies, pie or cake as a whole I do not keep in the house on a regular basis. At night I usually get a sweet tooth ..sigh.. I usually have a half a apple and some dates. Any advice on how to keep my weight down?
Avatar n tn I lost weight by eating low fat/low carb/low calorie diet and excercising daily. So I can't eliminate salt or soda since I rarely drink any soda and it's all diet and I only salt my food to taste since I found out about my BP. I went from a size 16/18 to a size 8/10. (56 pounds lost) I still need to lose about 15-20 pounds to get to where I was in college, but since it's slow going I've been a little more accepting of the extra pounds.
1637739 tn?1371692306 I had switched from reg to diet soda years ago but recently cut out soda altogether when I learned of the neg effect of diet soda on blood sugar. Also because soda is so acidic and my teeth are fairly porous, and I already take in a lot of acidic foods with wine, vinaigrettes, Mediterranean style cooking, etc. I love bread but try to limit it to a few times a week. I usually drink 2 or 3 cups of coffee per day, milk/no sugar.
Avatar m tn Baking Soda May Reduce Premature Death Risk? Research published this month in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology found that having balanced baking soda, or bicarbonate, levels in your body could reduce your chances of an early death. The study examined data compiled in the Health, Aging and Body Composition Study for 2,287 participants.

Avatar n tn I got off that roller coaster ride. I controlled it through diet and lifestyle changes. Got off the coffee, soda, caffeine, ate apples when I did have GERD (this worked wonders). Oh, and no booze. I have maybe 1 or 2 beers a month now and don't really miss it to be honest. I used maalox for a bit to get me through. This all also reduced my PVCs a lot. I've had no GERD for the past few months after years of trouble.
1198242 tn?1265186518 I drag my butt, I struggle to complete my workouts, struggle to do anything that takes some strength... Does anyone know how long this awful fatigue lasts? And PLEEEEASE don't say "it depends on how much and how long"... I will settle for an approximation... more like 3 months or 3 years?:-) I am desperate to have a timeline to at least look forward to.
Avatar f tn No one disagrees that you can lose on a 500 cal diet with ow without HCG, but you have to look at the whole picture. How do you feel on the diet? Can you stick with the diet? Can you maintain your weight afterwards? 3 months ago, before I heard about HCG I attempted a 500 Calorie diet to reduce the affects of RA(Rhuematoid Arthritis). Actually I wanted to FAST because having been under a 14 day medically supervised fast (water only) 3 years ago, I knew what miraculous results I got.
Avatar n tn I cant figure out for the life of me why my liver function would be high since i hardly drink, the only thing i can think of is drinking soda. For years i have been drinking about a 2 liter of diet soda a day. A while back i had a saliva test done to show how my adrenaline glands were functioning, and they were all out of whack. Not sure if that could have something to do with this or not. Any input would be much appreciated, thanks.
Avatar f tn Eyesight much worse in past year. Migraines on R side of head mainly, side of head/face goes numb. Fatigue. irregular periods (spot often and now im on day 7!) normal pap, urine (suspected uti since I have to pee all the time lately too!), blood work, neg for R/A & lupus (also have facial butterfly rash), neg diabetes. Had an u/s of legs, neg for clots, but when she did my groin and under L knee, painful. Same with neck when I had a carotid u/s - very painful.
Avatar n tn I just would like to know if Diet Coke (or any other diet soda) has raised anyone else's blood sugar levels. Diet Coke is always listed as a "free food," so the possibility of Diet Coke raising my blood sugar saddens me greatly. ***Is it true that the aspartame contained in Diet Coke might actually raise blood sugar levels (I think I read this a long time ago in an informational brochure but did not think twice about it since my blood sugar levels were great at the time)?
209384 tn?1231171906 Was wondering if anyone has tried anything like DHEA for the treatment of adrenal fatigue? My endo ordered a Cortrosym test but my insurance won't pay for it or the $100 iv med that you have to have to take it. So am looking for alternatives that might work. My endo does not seem to want to try anything else or right letter of medical necessity to my ins board of appeals. Seems that every symptom I have points to adrenal fatigue, and apparently my endo thought so, too.
Avatar m tn My nausea has increased to a point that it debilitating on a daily basis, my fatigue can be anywhere from mild to extreme day to day. Some days I can barely lift my arms over my head. I am almost constantly bloated, I have occasional acute headaches, dizziness, bad flatulence, inconsistent bowels (often feeling constipated, but when I do go it comes out like diahrea). My menstrual cycle has become less regular, and my PMS has changed completely.
Avatar n tn It could be anything thats not 'natural' to the human body... diet soda and fake sugars, Iv read about people having terrible and sudden allergic reactions to these recently, one lady went into anphalatic shock and wound up in a car wreck after chewing a sugarless gum every day for a month. She felt symptoms but her dr. couldnt figure out what it was until she went into shock..
Avatar f tn So think about keeping communication open, and if needed keep them up to date on MS and how it effects people including fatigue. Now, fatigue in MS is not the same as normal fatigue someone without MS might have. What exactly does that mean? Well, researchers believe that fatigue may actually be a poor term for what patients describe as fatigue. In the coming years, you may find the term go completely and replaced by some other term.
Avatar n tn I have been having anxiety and/or fatigue after eating for over a year now. The symtoms come on about 10-15 minutes after I eat. It doesn't matter what I eat or when I eat. I get anxiety and/or fatigue and it lasts for anywhere from 1-3.5 hours. I always have these symptoms, wether it be at breakfast, lunch or dinner. I thought that it may be a blood sugar problem but my blood sugar has never gone below 81 mg/dL (except when I was given the oral glucose tolerence test..
