Avatar f tn Hi I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and found out I have gallstones. They have told me to eat a fat free and dairy freediet for the next 12 weeks when iI will be checked again as surgery whilst I'm pregnant is risky. I am having a really hard time coming up with recipes and options to fill myself up, so far nothing I make had any flavour and it is putting me off eating. Does anyone have any recipes they could share?

I might recommend that the non calorie sweetener could be Stevia, which is actually sweeter than sugar, has inulin fiber and no calories............ This, for sure, goes into my recipe box, and the Hershey Special Dark Cocoa powder goes on the grocery list; I have everything else............... thanks........ got any more?

For us with PCOS, it makes our bodies harder to digest simple carbs (i.e. pasta, breads, rice). So because of this, this is why we gain weight and this is why it takes so long to come off. My suggestions are as follows: Bread: whole grain, high fiber. Anything high fiber (yes it is more calories) works to your advantage, because it will make your body feel more full...

Avatar f tn Move your goal date out to say June 30, Change your lifestyle make short term goals like weekly (say 1.5 to 2 /week) that are achievable and get a good and balanced diet. Fewer calories in and you will lose weight. starvation diets in my opinion seldom lead to long-term weight loss.

If you go to the Healthy Cooking Forum you will find lots of good recipes - many of them vegetarian and on the health pages there is some information about dealing with cravings and issues around vegetarianism and how to lighten up your cooking. Do ensure you are getting sufficient protein through beans and dairy.

Lifting weights is fantastic - more muscle burns more calories and you can see results quite fast.You can join a gym or use your suroundings.To start - soup can exercises - once they are too easy. look for something else heavier.EVERY OTHER DAY A can in each hand - lift your arms slowly upward - different angles. Avatar n tn d have to drop 500 calories from your BMR each day (1 lb is equal to 3500 calories, so 500 calories X 7 days = 3500 calories or 1 lb). OR you can drop 250 calories from your diet and increase exercise to use an additional 250 calories. Changing up calorie counts and exercises will help prevent plateau.
