Avatar f tn Well, lots of beans and grains, tofu, eggs, etc. Make sure you get your protein. Are you looking for recipes or just ideas of what you can eat?
1237365 tn?1278449630 I was hoping some one could give me info on some good Websites or Books that could give me some recipes for kids that are healthy and SIMPLE. By simple I mean pretty basic stuff that doesn't have a lot of spices or prep time and is inexpensive. I'm a single mom of 5 kids and (i'm disabled so we live off of my Social Security Disability) we get a lot of food boxes which has basic stuff like rice, beans, pasta's,lunchmeat, hamburger and canned foods.
Avatar f tn you are growing so you need calories. you will harm your body by going on adult diets. they are not meant for kids whose brains and organs and bones are still growing.

Avatar m tn ve been reading up on the subject and it appears that what is recommended is essentially a Mediterranean diet that is more carb restricted in favor of more fish, nuts, olive oil etc. I was wondering if there were any cookbooks with Mediterranean and/or fish recipes that you could recommend from personal experience that might be useful. Thanks J.
973741 tn?1342342773 I'm interested in any Dash diet recipes that are tested and taste good. :>) Any to share?
Avatar n tn hi my name is lauren- my family and I are recently opening a health and wellness business in aventura where we incorporate HCG in the plan were about eating right exercising and being healthy, I have lost 40lbs total exercised for the past three years and could never lose the weight. Some people do the diet on thier own and some gain the wait back. There are also cleanses we incorporate as well.
167 tn?1374173817 Does anyone have any kid friendly ideas or recipes? How about a suggestion for a cookbook? I have been trying, every meal I make, to incorporate whole grains instead of simple starches. I use whole wheat pasta, brown rice and if I'm in a bind and in a hurry, I make sure the boxed pasta or rice says whole grain. I'm running out of ideas though! The kids are getting sick of the same old...every few days or so. I need things that are fairly quick and good!
1346724 tn?1282322904 I've read in previous forums that the Gluten and Casein Free diet has helped kids with Autism. My son's therapist hasn't concluded his dignosis but she's leaning to PDD-NOS and I was wondering if I should try a diet like that or the Feingold diet. Has any one tried either one or which one would be a better diet to follow?
1916673 tn?1420233270 I have now added a useful Vegetable Nutrition Data file to my own website which should help owners work out which are the best vegetables to add to a home cooked diet regime for their kd dogs. You can access this document under the Blog section of my website at www.tonyboothwriter.com This is a PDF file, so you can also download it or print it to read or reference at your convenience.
Avatar f tn They have told me to eat a fat free and dairy freediet for the next 12 weeks when iI will be checked again as surgery whilst I'm pregnant is risky. I am having a really hard time coming up with recipes and options to fill myself up, so far nothing I make had any flavour and it is putting me off eating. Does anyone have any recipes they could share?
Avatar f tn But, in general, lean protein of any sort is good for you and fills you up. A good bang for your calorie buck. Fruits as your sweet treat verses real sweets, lots of fresh vegis. A handful of nuts, guacamole, a little peanut butter, are good things that have the right fat that your body needs while being very satisfying. Stay away from anything processed or prepackaged diet food and try to go fresh. Drink tons of water.
Avatar n tn Has any one else been placed on a low sodium diet by their baby doctor? I was told I have high blood pressure and just as a caution I should go on a low sodium diet. So I've been Googling recipes and things but I'm not finding to many. Does any one has some advice about the diet or some amazing recipes? That would be amazing!!
1277082 tn?1344057820 t really have any actual recipes but I do have advice for you in which it should probably help you out. For us with PCOS, it makes our bodies harder to digest simple carbs (i.e. pasta, breads, rice). So because of this, this is why we gain weight and this is why it takes so long to come off. My suggestions are as follows: Bread: whole grain, high fiber. Anything high fiber (yes it is more calories) works to your advantage, because it will make your body feel more full...
250155 tn?1485295939 t find it in this forum or in the healthy cooking forum. i want to get my older 2 dds a cook book for kids and would like a suggestion as to which one would be good for them. its really more for my 5 yr old but you know my 3 yr old will be helping as well, lol!!!
1423357 tn?1511085442 He was labeled immature, sensory disorder, etc. He has highly developed motor skills for a 4 year old and spends hours playing by himself with his box of Hot Wheels, but will welcome participation from any of us. One thing that we noticed early on was his refusal to eat certain foods. He seems to test a perspective food by first putting to his lips.
Avatar n tn Can anyone give me tips on a good diet plan or food to eat to lose fat and weight?
1156486 tn?1262394803 I will start a Iodine free diet next week in preparation for my Iodine131 treatment (for Jan. 21st) and would like to find the thyca cookbook. I did not see it on the thyca wedsite. I want to make sure that I do everything possible to insure good results from the treatment so I would appreciate finding recipes. Thank you.

Avatar f tn thank you for the reply I will try it. I have 3 kids and I try to do things with them now. Maybe I will take up a sport I used to enjoy that.
377493 tn?1356502149 Here are a couple you omight enjoy: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Healthy-Cooking/Chicken-and-White-Bean-Chili/show/766274 What about fish? Many people don't like it because they've eaten it overcooked. Try baking halibut or salmon or trout with a drizzle of lemon just until flaky (usually takes about 15 minutes at 350 F) and serve with this tartar sauce http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Healthy-Cooking/Dill-Caper-Tartar-Sauce/show/1263487.
Avatar f tn Family gyms usually offer on-site day care for small children and fitness based activities for older kids, which include being supervised by an adult instructor/attendant ~ all while you exercise.
