Avatar f tn Yes you can eat clam chowder. Did your doctor give you a list of foods you shouldn't eat? If not I would look it up online. There arent that may dietary restrictions and it always helps to know exactly what is off limits. Hope this helps!

I don't know the answers to your questions, except it is wise that anyone eat responsibly. Have you asked his transplant surgeon and/or doctor? Again congratulations!

Avatar f tn As a result, I drank a lot of water, diet soda and juice. This caused me to flush out all of the vitamins and minerals of my body. I am reallllly low on just about everything. Just started suplements and a big daily dose of magnesium as suggested by my nutritionist. Since I've eaten very low carbs and kept my sugar lower in addition to the supplements, the cramps are gone.

Do your best to stay away from OTC sleep meds. I found that they simply prolong the process and sooner or later you'll find yourself needing to stay awake for awhile to get sleep naturally. Avatar f tn Cooked seafood is okay nothing raw like clams or any fish ( due to things they may carry like eating raw eggs you take a chance) swordfish is a big no no and other fish high in mercury. Crab lobster cooked oysters clams shrimp tuna etc are all good for you and high in omega 3 and fatty acids.

Avatar n tn You may have extremely low hemoglobin levels, which means you have an iron deficiency. You must go to the doctor first just to make sure!! And they should give you a list of the foods that are rich in iron. Like, canned clams, chicken and beef livers, and legumes. Try eating at least one bowl of iron enriched cereal a day. It will take quite awhile to get the levels back to normal but you have to stick to the iron diet!!

I just ate like 10 baked clams with lemon and it was heaven. Will my baby be okay though? I tried to hold back but I just couldnt. They were right in my face I had too it was sl tempting. I couldn't get enough of them. If anybody tried to take my clams I would have hit him. Then I realized what my need was - iodine. I started to take Atomadine (a form of iodine) and after 30 years of intractable insomnia I started to sleep like a normal person. Your body is really smart. Listen to it.

Avatar n tn lways eat cooked rather than raw shellfish (including mussels, lobster, crab, prawns, scallops and clams) when you'repregnant, as they can contain harmful bacteria and viruses thatcan cause food poisoning. Cold pre-cooked prawns are fine.
