I've lost 20 lbs since I went back to full fat dairy and began adding other healthy fats, such as butter, coconut oil, avocados, olive oil, etc back into my diet. Fat must be eaten in moderation - no more 1 tablespoon per meal... You can also eat brown rice, which is a whole grain, in place of white rice.

Other than that one drug there are no real dietary restrictions except eating enough and including some fats for better absorption of the ribavirin. I kept on the very low carb diet, eating mostly proteins - fish fish and more fish I started losing weight really fast. I was originally at 112 - 115 keeping my weight at that by eating a ton on carbs. As soon as I was diagnosed I cut out carbs and now my weight is at 92 - 95 pounds.

Avatar m tn I have cut down on eating crap in the evenings and keep a pretty good diet other than weekends, so yes I know if I did a complete everyday good diet, then I would get some improvement. But I wondered if any other tall people could give tips on actual fat loss...obviously bellly is the main place and last place to go. I don't need to be stronger as I already use nearly every machine in the gym to max weight, and do other body weight exercises for flexibility strength.

Avatar m tn Limit fruit to 3 servings/day because it tend to have a lot of sugar and if not used right away, turns to fat. Try to center your meals around vegetables, because they have a lot of nutrients and fiber for very few calories. Also stick to low/no fat dairy, lean meats, good fats (such as avocado, olive oil, etc). Nuts and seeds are a good addition, because of the nutrients, but limit them because of the fat, even though it's "good" fat.
Avatar f tn t be helped considering I get sick from fat (gallstones). So a lower carb diet or diabetic friendly diet might be good for you, but don't cut it out all together. I've lost 16 kilos by trying to keep a balanced diet. Your body needs variety and cutting out any specific food group won't necessarily help in the long run. A real healthy diet needs to be life changing. I will never ever go back to how I used to eat. And I can tell you my body already thanks me for it.
