Avatar m tn I started getting odd urinary tract infections a year or so back which seemed to puzzle my doctors, they had no explanation for it,the urinary infections were triggered once I consumed too much sugar and my urine would smell bad. the doctors i've seen haven't been much help for me in diagnosing any of my allergy problems,i'm guessing this is very difficult to test for .
Avatar f tn How do you tell the difference between a urinary tract infection and yeast infectiy?
Avatar n tn Lemon and cranberry juice will help with urinary tract infections as a preventative in susceptible individuals but will not cure an active infection. Your dog's urine should really be checked for infection with a urinalysis. Please bring a fresh urine sample to your vet for analysis. You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics.
Avatar n tn She may have a urinary tract infection, and if she does, she will require antibiotics or other medications. Urinary tract infections are fairly common. An all canned, or wet diet may help if they are chronic. If you cannot get her to the vet today because it is a weekend please get her to drink as much liquids as possible, any way possible. You can try giving her chicken, beef, vegetable, or fish broths, either on her food, or in separate bowls.
Avatar n tn Hi, The burning that you experience can be the result of a urinary tract infection. Do you also experience an unrgency? You should be consulting with a doctor. If not treated a urinary tract infection can lead to more serious things. One result of a U.T.I. could be a kidney infection if it is not treated. I have had it several times and ended up hospitalized for about a week at a time being on several different antibiotics through an IV. Please don't wait, get it checked as soon as possible?

Women are more apt than men to have bladder infections. I wonder when your were tested for STD, that your urine was also tested? You may consider having an urinalysis run to verify whether your urinary tract is clear. In Texas, where I live, major supermarket chains now have small clinics inside their stores.
Avatar f tn I think the cranberry is for urinary tract. How many have you had, and are you for sure they are yeast?
Avatar f tn which is a mix of different herbs that are good for the urinary tract. For some people with mild infections, or who detect infections very early on, cranberry pills can help. Corn silk tea is a native American remedy which you can find in capsule form now. Some people swear that Oil or Oregano cures all of their infections. This can be found in capsule or liquid form at any natural store or select grocery stores. All of the herbs I mentioned range from 5 to 20 dollars.
Avatar f tn I just had a cystoscopy for a ureteral stent implant and a foley catheter put in on 04-Sept-2010. My Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL rock-shock) on 02-Sept-2010 didn't work on a 5x9 ureteral stone causing colic. The cysto was quite mutilating (I'm sure superficially), it left me with a very irritating blood squirting cath setup (19 French), but with the anotomical difference of the male urethra I'm sure that's very common.
Avatar f tn Prosed DS is used for treating painful irritating symptoms of the urinary tract infections or diagnostic procedures. It is an antiseptic, analgesic, anticholinergic and urinary acidifier. It helps in killing bacteria in the urine, decreases inflammation and pain in the urinary tract and reducing muscle spasms in the urinary tract. There are certain medications and conditions where you should not be taking prosed DS like allergies.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) account for about 8.3 million doctor visits each year.* Women are especially prone to UTIs for reasons that are not yet well understood. Avatar m tn I wonder if there is such a thing as a hypersensitive urinary tract? If so, I have it big time! Every time this is like this, it makes me feel bad all over. I guess when the prostate is irritated, being a gland, it can affect how you feel all over. I hope I can get over this. I am still drinking lots of water. My questions are is there such a thing as a hypersensitive urinary tract and prostate? And 2. What can be done to improve this. A certain vitamin or mineral? Saw Palmetto?
Avatar f tn I have a question for those of you with urinary tract problems. I have had several UTIs and seem to be retaining urine. Also, my bladder and kidneys hurt. As many of you know, I do have Lupus. The question I have is should I be going to a urologist? I have talked to my GP about this and I have even mentioned being tested for Lupus Nephritis, but he just tells me that anytime he has checked my kidneys they have been fine.
Avatar n tn itchiness is usually yeast, but the burning could be a urinary tract infection. is the burning internal or external???
Avatar n tn As your symptoms suggest of burning sensation while passing urine, it is more commonly due to urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases. Because kidney and ureter stones are accompanied by pain that goes upto the loin. There could also be changes in the stream of urine. Is this the first time you are having this? Or previously suffered from same kind of symptoms? In any case it is advised to get a urine examination done and an ultrasound.
Avatar n tn Another important cause of recurrent urinary tract infections is a unstable urinary bladder which causes voiding symptoms like burning sensation, frequency, urgency etc. A girl with voiding symptoms is at increased risk of developing recurrent urinary tract infections because there is reflux of urine with bacteria into the bladder.
