It felt like rheumatoid arthritis, which was diagnosed 7 years ago when I had a sudden attack as well during my pregnancy and after medication of 5 weeks with prednisson dissappeared until now it showed up again after I spent a midday in the swimimg pool, overexercised myself perhaps and got sunburnt a bit.

The only thing that seems to help is steroids but he's only given me enough for a week :( So, is it possible to have a neg. RA test yet still have RA? Plus I have always been under the understanding that RA is a small joint issue.

Various pain relievers make me retain fluid......making me too dizzy and light headed to drive. Can you recommend a product, OTC or prescription, that contains little to no sodium? Avatar n tn I have high rheumatoid factor, high c reactive protein, and some other stuff related to Anklyosing and rheumatoid arthritis. Currently I am worried about amyloidosis because of having an enlarged tongue which feels like it puts pressure on my throat. I have tried minocycline, methotrexate, sulfasalazine, plaquenil, and prednisone with no help. I am about to start humira. I currently take 5-10mg of prednisone and have been for about 8-9 months.

He has started me on Plaquenil (an anti-malarial) that should hopefully start working on my inflammation, pain and fatigue within a few weeks and hopefully by the time I start my new job. I am glad that there is something they feel can help and that I don't need to go on Prednisone as I took way too much of that back when I had ulcerative colitis.
Avatar n tn OTC meds - any good multivitamin and a stress-formula vitamin (high in b-vitamins) may help. Also ibuprofen with food can help the pain. No specific thyroid diet that I have seen proven to be helpful....
Avatar f tn I had numerous test done and they could not figure out what it was so they called it seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. Every test I had came back okay. I was put on steroid and for awhile the symptoms subsided. I was also put on plaquinal that did nothing. I was put on humara that did help, but at that time I started getting heart palpatations so I quite the humara.

My suggestion would be to try a very low carb, carb free diet or anti-arthritis diet (just look it up) for a few weeks and see if you experience improvement. Make sure you add some coconut oil to your diet, work up to 4T daily and use it in your cooking, instead of using pro-inflammatory cooking oils. Coconut oil doesn't alter when heated, it is anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-parasitic and anti-microbial.

Avatar f tn The diagnosis of a psoriatic arthritis is based on physical examination, imaging studies such as the x-rays/ MRI etc. RF/ Rheumatoid Factor is associated with rheumatoid arthritis and is often negative in psoriatic arthritis. Psoriatic arthritis is a fairly possible diagnosis in your case. I would suggest an evaluation by a rheumatologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this is helpful. After reading all the foods that are proflammatory that I always thought were good for you, I wished I knew about it so many years ago. You know the saying: "You are what you eat?" Let me know what you find. I could use more choices of foods to eat.

I haven't done anything else different other than this diet and the HCG shots, so it must be connected. Has anyone else experienced improvements to their Arthritis? My feet haven't looked normal in over a year (they are almost normal looking now), and the swelling in my knees is down so far I can actually sit down without pain from bending my knees.
