Avatar n tn More to the point Your BG numbers are high because you have diabetes. what that means is your body cant control your BG so you have to. Carbohydrates raise BG... all carbs raise BG. Drugs, exercise lower BG. Try testing 1 hour after eating that will tell you how high your BG goes from the food you eat.

He is feed chicken nugget for dinner almost ever M-F. He eats P&J for lunch M-F. Here is a list of the foods he eats...chicken nuggets, fries from McDonalds, P&J sandwich, Grilled Cheese, Cereal, Pizza, rare occ. banana, french toast, pan cakes, waffles and Mac and Cheese. Drinks milk, pop, water and juice boxes.

Back when my girls were much younger, and I was a single parent, I made dinner each night, with a meat and two vegetables and most nights a side salad. My youngest had a hard time getting off the chicken nuggets and pasta as the only thing she would eat. But, I punished the girls with no desserts and early bedtimes and many other little nuisances.
Avatar f tn t count french fries as a vegetable, and other than that, their ENTIRE diet is meats and carbs. For one, honestly only carbs, ever. All three are a healthy, trim weight. There's no reason to force this poor stepchild to keep eating revolting food.
Avatar f tn the type of diet u r mentioning is ridiculous and I'm saying it with no intention of disrespect...there are many fad diets and believe me I've tried them all and still struggling with it...the only diet that safely and effectively worked for me was FL4I(fat loss for idiots)..look it up...eat and do some not-so-strainous exercise like walking...i lost 15 lbs in almost 3 months...got pregnant...and I'm on it now again after 3 years...but it really works..best of luck.

That poses a problem when it comes to taking a test 2 hrs after eating as I am nibbling throughout day. Any helpful hints? Also, I am not having any troubles keeping my sugar down during the day. It has been anywhere from 93-110.

Avatar f tn Personally, I believe in a balanced diet with only a moderate amount of animal protein -- meaning complex carbs such as whole grains for stamina, enough protein but not overdoing it as it can help with short-term weight loss but isn't the healthiest way to eat long-term, and lots of different colored veggies. But diet is a variable thing -- the one you've listed might just be perfect for you provided it's not so low-calorie you're not getting sufficient nutrients.

The only reason to eat an exceptionally high protein diet is if you value bodybuilding over health, which is fine if that's what makes life good for you. But if health and longevity is what you're seeking most, the clusters of long-lived people being studied for many years now don't eat according to the current fad, and humans in most places never did.

Avatar n tn for example i will have an egg sandwich with oj+celery for breakfast, an orange or grapefruit for lunch and the egg sandwich with oj + celery for dinner. 2 liters of water for the day. i can maintain that diet for about a week, then i will break it , the temptations of sweets , plus positive or negative events get me wanting sodas and sweets. then my will power will get low and it takes months to regain and start the diet. what should i be studying that will help stay on a diet?

I am around 104 kgs and just can't seem to shift the weight. Any suggestions would be great. I have tried diet pills and shakes in the past. No results. Blood tests have come up fine.
