Avatar n tn Many arthritis sufferers are in a panic over the shortage of Voltaren gel (diclofenac sodium gel) and I get why they are worried. Voltaren gel is a prescription topical anti-inflammatory gel used for all kinds of arthritis pain: rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and osteoarthritis of the knees, hands and hips. People who have stomach issues from taking anti-inflammatories by mouth can bypass that problem with Voltaren gel.
Avatar n tn //www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.

880900 tn?1467270141 Hi folks! Have any of you used Diclofenac or Voltarin Gel for relief from general pain on thighs, etc.(and other large areas ... LOL? What was your experience? Did it actually relieve any of your pain? I've used the tablet form, but it made me sick to my stomach. Is this likely to do the same? Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn Lately I have been putting Voltaren gel on my forehead. I'm doing this to soothe pain from inflammation caused by increased circulation from running a lot. Is this ok? I know it takes away pain, reduces inflammation, and increases blood circulation. Also I got the blood flowing through some decadent veins and arteries on my skull. It is really annoying but gets better everyday. What do you think?
230262 tn?1316645934 I was just given Voltaren Gel(diclofenac sodium topical get 1%) for my neck pain(spinal cord nerve damage) and muscle spasms in my shoulders. I've been using it for the past few days and it has worked wonders for the pain in my shoulders. It comes in pill form too and it is geared for arthritis and pain. I was surprised how quickly it reduced my shoulder pain.
Avatar n tn Have been perscribed Diclofenac (the generic for Voltaren), an anti-inflammatory drug for my back problem. Has anyone any experience with this drug? Or any knowledge whether anti-inflammatory drugs, in general, can cause palpitations or AFIB? Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks!
975514 tn?1324997938 Has anyone here developed vitreous floaters in their eyes while taking the medication Voltaren (Diclofenac)? I have developed some in my left eye. On the marketing material it states that some people taking the medication have been known to have developed floaters, but it wasn't during the drug trials and it was less than 1% of the people taking it.
Avatar f tn I have a shoulder problem and used to be on strong pain killers, but my doctor told me to change to heat rubs!

1840891 tn?1431547793 For topical diclofenac, the number needed to treat (NNT) for at least 50% pain relief vs placebo was 6.4 for diclofenac solution and 11 for diclofenac gel formulation. There were insufficient data to calculate NNTs for other individual topical NSAIDs. "The results presented here show clearly that high quality large studies demonstrate efficacy of topical NSAIDs in 12 week studies, with NNTs similar to those of oral NSAIDs," the authors write. 655875 tn?1295695107 ve never tried it, but I have tried Voltaren gel, a prescription, which I thought did make a difference. It is very expensive. I also get a compounding gel from a special pharmacy (not a chain). They combine a bunch of things like lidocaine, ketamine and I don't know what else. That actually works pretty well. Any chance you could try either of those?
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.

Avatar f tn I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has been taking Voltaren...I have been thru the mill with Suprytz knee injections, full series of epidural spinal injections, many trials of anti inflams, physial therapy etc. etc (all to no avail)... 432376 tn?1266257738 I have bursitis in both my hips, but more predominantly in the left hip. There are exercises that can help relieve the pain. The exercise I do involves laying down preferably on your bed and crossing one leg in a bent position over your other leg which remains in a straight position. Then simply reverse it to treat the other hip if necessary.
Avatar f tn ve found that a combination of Aleve (naproxen) and voltaren gel helps take the edge off of the pain. Voltaren gel is an anti-inflammatory gel that you would rub on your hands. It contains diclofenac, a strong prescription anti-inflammatory medication. You could ask your doctor about it to see if it will help in addition to the steroid shots. I haven't had the steroid shots in my hand before so I can't comment on that but someone else may be able to.
Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
