Avatar n tn My PCP currently has me on a short (1 week) oral steroid cycle (methylprednisolone 4mg) alongside topical anti-inflammatory gel (diclofenac) to reduce the swelling and reevaluate later but, if inflammation returns post-cycle, a cortisone injection into that tendon is apparently the next option.

432376 tn?1266257738 I have bursitis in both my hips, but more predominantly in the left hip. There are exercises that can help relieve the pain. The exercise I do involves laying down preferably on your bed and crossing one leg in a bent position over your other leg which remains in a straight position. Then simply reverse it to treat the other hip if necessary.

Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it does not look like a jaw pain due to an allergic reaction to this topical treatment. It looks like temporomandibular joint pain to me. TMJ pain disorders usually occur because of unbalanced activity, spasm, or overuse of the jaw muscles. Diagnosed by x-rays or CT of the joint. Treatment involves warm compresses and anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or diclofenac. If the symptoms persist then please get an examination done from an ENT specialist/dentist.
Avatar m tn Please get MRI or X ray cervical spine done to rule out this possibility. Try topical counterirritants, diclofenac, hot compressions along with physiotherapy for a week or so. If no relief is seen, do consult neurologist.
Avatar f tn m a little concerned about PDT with aminolevulinic acid while the skin is still red and irritated. I may see if the dermatologist will let me try diclofenac gel. Or possibly I could try a weaker PDT treatment without any topical solution. I would have to pay out of pocket for PDT.

As you are seeing an orthopedician and going perfectly the right way, follow that properly and have patience and do your physical therapy properly and regularly. Do not exert your affected shoulder with physical activity or by lifting of heavy weights. Take care!
