653169 tn?1303446369 Do you know if fibromyalgia can deform joints like arthritis does? Fibromyalgia is a fairly new diagnoses for me. MY DR. wants me on Savella for it, but I've tried to take it twice and couldn't handle the side effects!

671285 tn?1292660161 For over 5 weeks I have been getting this very uncomfortable pain in my ribs which comes and goes. Now that pain is travelling toward my back. And I notice it whenever I move my arm or walk. I tried to extend my left arm and I was literally on the floor trying to catch my breath because the pain hurt so bad. It makes it hard to breathe for a mini-second and then I am back to normal. I was just wondering what this could be. I have taken some pain meds like Aleve which have not worked.
Avatar f tn so it supposed to be good for everything from arthritis to Gout. I take it for pain from a permanent rib injury. It looks like we are about the same age do you mind me asking what you are taking it for? And you are right sometimes they are not very good about telling us that we should not expect results right away and it may take a few weeks for certain meds to work well. Let me know how you do. I am doing well so far but like I said it took a couple of weeks.
Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
Avatar n tn i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
Avatar f tn it now is about a 6 and with the tramadol and diclofenac its a 3. The doctor has told me to stop taking the diclofenac as i am having night sweats since taking them and is giving me an anti inflammatory which can be bought over the counter and i have to reduce the tramadol to 1 50mg pill 3 times a day as he does not want me on them for a long period of time.
Avatar m tn You can also google 'diclofenac and liver'. I have found an articles saying the following: Data collected by the FDA shows that diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), has caused serious liver toxicity and liver failure in some patients.
681148 tn?1437661591 They call it hypermoble, which is very common in people with Fibromyalgia. So for example, I can scratch my whole back with both of my arms. Anyhow, now if I lay on my right shoulder, along with the pain I have a feeling that my shoulder is going to pop out of socket. It's horrible! Anyhow, sorry to be venting on your post, but I feel really bad that I can't help with your stomach issues. Who knows, at some point I may get worse in that department and have to ask for your help.

Avatar n tn I would like to know what other pain killers are available for osteoarthritis. I have been on diclofenac for months for osteoarthritis of the knee and degenerative disk disease. I have tried to stop it several time due to concerns that I may get a GI bleed, have a stroke.... but this seems to be the only medication I have found that helps.
Avatar f tn For the past five years I have worked on my feet for most of the day and since then have always experienced a lot of pain in my legs and wrist. A friend of mind suggested that I use arthrotec for the pain as it has helped her. I am 32 years old and am on a birth control pill. Any thoughts on the safety of this idea?
1130095 tn?1267369259 I take oxycontin 40mg per day, percocet for breakthrough pain, topamx for migraines, edpidrin for onset of a headache, trazadone for sleep, and if you aren't taking a thyroid medication ask the doctor to prescribe a low dose thyroid medication. I take Levoxyl. I have for years. My thyroid tests come back normal however I have all the symptoms of under active thyroid. I went to a doctor years ago, he's since retired. He prescribe this Levoxyl for me.
Avatar f tn I had an allergic reaction to (apparently) a NSAID. I've taken a lot NSAID's all my life for different reasons. I also have a long history of allergies in my life (rhinitis, latex, dog and cat hair, contact and atopic dermatitis) and my grandmother was allergic to basically 90% of all drugs.
1145347 tn?1315798419 Thank youu for your reply. I have heard it can be difficult to get the disability. When and if I feel that is the way I need to go I am hoping to go on my employers short term then long term disability and then if needed apply for the Social Security. Not sure how it all works but looking into it. I went to the Rheumatologist today and he signed my Intermittent FMLA paperwork. He also changed my meds...
Avatar m tn t dissipated and i went to a local orthopedist, who took an xray, said theres no bone damage, and prescribed diclofenac. the same day, in fact right as i was leaving his office, i started feeling nauseous, so i stopped taking diclofenac. it was barely noticeable in the beginning, but would get worse everyday, appetite disappearing. first time i went to my family doctor i was told it probably is food poisoning because there was no fever. standard blood test came back normal.
Avatar m tn The FDA just announced that dicoflenac gel (brand name Voltaren Gel) often prescribed for arthritis pain is linked to severe liver damage and it can happen within the first month of use According to the FDA, this topical gel has been reported to cause liver necrosis (death of liver cells), jaundice, and liver failure some cases of which have required liver transplant and some that have been fatal! Despite these horrible side effects, dicoflenac gel remains on the market.
Avatar f tn I have suffered with BRP for many years and tried all the remedies mentioned in the comments. Some offer limited relief but there is no cure. I also suffer with chronic back pain for which I use a topical pain cream. My arms were itching so badly one day that I smeared the pain cream all over my arms. The itching stopped; of course it came back but I just added more cream. The BRP is Maddening...but the pain cream helps.
473384 tn?1210206242 I was on the narcs first (for 6 months), added the diclofenac 6 months later so have been on that for 6 months. this past week showed me that the diclofenac is probably helping more than I thought but if you see my other posts you will see that I am having trouble tapering below 60mgs/day OC total.
Avatar m tn Hello. My father has a surgery appointment for 6 hours later. This is a varicocele surgery on his testicles. He had a high fever a few hours ago. I injected diclofenac 75mg in his muscle due to his request. After that, I read about something like "Do not take diclofenac at least 7 days before a surgery". This is about the risk of bleeding, right? So, if his surgeon say that it will be ok, can we trust him? I'm freaking out. Please tell me what should I do. Thanks a lot.
Avatar n tn well...not sure if u r addicted to valium...not a good med for sleep tho..lots out there safer than benzos for sleep....ask them about it/ur doctor i mean sounds like u have done a wonderful job tapering down on the morphine...the med u mentioned is an anti-inflamatory....and can help pain...other things can help like muscle relaxers, nerve inhibitors like neurontin...have u tried yoga? or chirporactic....perhaps this surgery u speak of will do wonders...
880900 tn?1467270141 Hi folks! Have any of you used Diclofenac or Voltarin Gel for relief from general pain on thighs, etc.(and other large areas ... LOL? What was your experience? Did it actually relieve any of your pain? I've used the tablet form, but it made me sick to my stomach. Is this likely to do the same? Thanks for your help.
Avatar n tn And please remember, that if you see multiple doctors, you should let them know all medications you take including anything over the counter such as aspirin. Here is information regarding diclofenac gel. https://www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids.
