diclofenac for arthritis

I take Diclofenac XR now and have had trouble with other prescription NSAIDs upsetting my stomach. For me, this one seems to be the best out of all I've tried and it's the most effective for my inflammation. I tried Mobic and Nabumatone and had problems with upset stomach and headache. In addition to Fibromyalgia I also have arthritis in my spine and shoulder, so I take it for that and I can't live without it. Ibuprofen and Naproxen doesn't even touch the inflammation and pain.

so it supposed to be good for everything from arthritis to Gout. I take it for pain from a permanent rib injury. It looks like we are about the same age do you mind me asking what you are taking it for? And you are right sometimes they are not very good about telling us that we should not expect results right away and it may take a few weeks for certain meds to work well. Let me know how you do. I am doing well so far but like I said it took a couple of weeks.

As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage,but up to now...it has not caused me any problems. I am taking with Prevacid to make sure it doesn;t upset my stomach.

but every decade or thereabouts i get a severe crazy out of control flare up and right now i m going thru one of those... i m on prednisolone and diclofenac (only diclofenac works on me when it is severe, no other NSAID does)... but i hate the side effects of prednisolone!!! i just wonder if anyone out here also suffers from behcet's and has this kind of 'arthritis' that doesn't show up in RA tests?

My rheumatologist has prescribed Voltaren for my arthritis pain..I have tried many other anti infams and have also had the full series of epidural spinal injections and full series of Suprytz knee injections...I had protein level blood testing to rule out polymyalgia rheumattica ( which it did ) ...I am a 67 year old female and up until one year ago have been vey active and looking forward to do a lot of traveling in the next few years....

I saw a rheumatologist, he diagnosed it as post-traumatic arthralgia and gave me Voltral(diclofenac) and Zeegap(pregabalin) for 2 weeks. I want to know its reversal ttime and precautions to prevent it from aggrevate.

You have to check for Rheumatoid factor and go for an X-ray for diagnosis of Arthritis. What other symptoms do you face? Detailed history would be necessary for screening of Rheumatoid arthritis. Take care and keep us posted.

Hi, I need some suggestion. I am 32. I have been leading a relatively inactive life for the past many years. I am slightly overweight ( 5'10" & 84 KGs ) and I suspect I have some symptoms of arthritis in my knee joints as I can't keep my kness bent for more than 15-20 minutes without feeling some pain in my knees.

Other important causes are fibrocystic breast disease,ductal ectasia,mastitis(inflammation of breasts),galactoceles,benign and malignant pathologies of breasts,referred pain from liver or musculoskeletal system,arthritis of the ribs,costsochondritis and inflammation or sprain of pectoralis muscle. I feel that an examination by a gynecologist will be the best.

I was also told that I have reactive arthritis. I was put on steroids for a month, had some relief but flare ups continue and seem to worsen as time goes on.

i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.

It is not unusual for arthritis to set in after an injury. It's called traumatic arthritis. However it usually takes years before that occurs. It's not common at your age but that doesn't mean it isn't a possibility. I am glad that you are exercising. That is good for most all conditions including arthritis. You said you were told there is nothing that can be done by your neurologist. Have you seen other specialists such as an orthopedic physician?

I have been having pain behind my right ear on opening my mouth fully for about 2 weeks now. I do not see any redness or swelling surrounding the jaw or ear, the pain seems to be internal. I have no problem with my teeth or gums either. When I try to open my mouth fully, the pain is very severe and also, I have headache, the pain is near the eyebrow and behind my neck.
