653169 tn?1303446369 Thanks much. Do you recall what "essential enzyme" you took with the diclofenac? I'll also check into the voltaren topical, although my pain in so widespread I don't know if that would be feasible.
1204528 tn?1588786333 You are correct. The usual interactions suggest a decrease in levels of the other drugs taken with carbamazepine. Try searching for 'carbamazepine metabolism' and 'diclofenac metabolism'. It shows that both meds are metabolized by CYP3A4. Diclofenac may decrease levels of CYPA4 (search 'diclofenac inactivation CYP3A4); this could potentially lead to increased levels of carbamazepine.
Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
2080404 tn?1643113754 m on trazodone for insomnia and anxiety, just started taking Flouxetine (Prozac) and Diclofenac for muscle aches in my legs. i don't know which one is affecting my appetite but i've been nauseous almost every day. i'm not pregant or anything like that so the meds is the only thing i can think of that might be causing it. today my eyesight started getting blurry to the point i had to change the font size on my phone because it was getting too blurry to read accurately.
Avatar n tn Though it may be contraindicated in patients with DM with renal impairment and Lipid regulating drugs like-Colestyramine appears substantially to reduce the bioavailability of diclofenac when the two drugs are given together. The effects of cholestyramine and colestipol on the absorption of diclofenac in man.Colestipol produces a similar but smaller effect.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am an athlete and due to often strains or injuries i need to take non steroid anti inflammatory pills for a few days like ibuprofen, diclofenac, lornoxicam, etoricorib. Even from the first pill, i feel physical exhaustion and then water retention. I am also short of breath, sometimes i feel sleepy and also sometimes my vision acuity decreases. Of course, the symptoms disappear after a few days i finish the therapy. Could someone tell me how to deal with these side effects? Thank you!
Avatar m tn I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
Avatar f tn My 59 year old husband, Hep C+ diagnosed in 2007, F-4 Cirrhosis diagnosed in 2010, compensated liver (last blood work was in July, 2012, and he has never had ascites, varices, or hepatic encephalopathy), and failed three Hep C treatments in past 5 years (last failure was triple tx w/Incivek stopped treatment mid-April, 2012 due to viral breakthrough), not currently on treatment. Question: He has had pain and swelling on forearm recently.
Avatar m tn Ibuprofen is a NSAID (Non-steroid anti-inflammation drug), so it has some effect on the inflammation too, not just to relief the pain. There are other NSAIDs too but some of them have lots of side effects. Diclofenac is one that in my country is sold over the counter almost as often as Ibuprofen. Of course, for severe inflammations (with inflammations, there are no infection) steroid anti inflammation drugs can be used, such as cortisone.
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including aspirin, diclofenac and ibuprofen, are associated with an allergic adverse effects, ranging from mild rash to life-threatening allergic reactions. In such cases it becomes difficult to select appropriate pain killer. The next we usually recommend is paracetamol (she is also allergic to this drug). The reason for such allergy is cross reactivity which is seen in this class of drugs.
Avatar f tn My liver levels two years ago were normal. How can this happen? I have been in Diclofenac (Naproxen) medicine for 3 1/2 months as result of a foot injury. Do you think my abnormal levels could be related to this medicine? I'm so concerned.
Avatar f tn it now is about a 6 and with the tramadol and diclofenac its a 3. The doctor has told me to stop taking the diclofenac as i am having night sweats since taking them and is giving me an anti inflammatory which can be bought over the counter and i have to reduce the tramadol to 1 50mg pill 3 times a day as he does not want me on them for a long period of time.
Avatar f tn m taking (Rizatriptan, Diclofenac, and Fulticasone) since I have only started to take the medication last year. I was on ibuprofen but stop taking them since the doctor thought the bruising was caused by it. The doctors are treating the conditions that I mentioned separately. I'm not sure if they should be treating the symptoms together or separate. I'm starting to get scared, I'm just want to know what is happening to me.
1840891 tn?1431547793 //www.drugs.com/mtm/diclofenac-topical.html "Some NSAIDs, particularly sulindac (Clinoril) and diclofenac, showed higher rates of hepatic injury and transaminase elevation more than three times the upper limit of normal compared with placebo. However, even in large systematic reviews, clinically significant outcomes, such as hospitalization or death, were rare. NSAIDs do carry some risk in persons with impaired hepatic function.
Avatar f tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis, allergic reaction or eczema. Another possibility is stasis dermatitis which effects the lower limbs mostly. It is mostly from vascular problems in the lower limbs. I would suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist and get the diagnosis confirmed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
975514 tn?1324997938 Has anyone here developed vitreous floaters in their eyes while taking the medication Voltaren (Diclofenac)? I have developed some in my left eye. On the marketing material it states that some people taking the medication have been known to have developed floaters, but it wasn't during the drug trials and it was less than 1% of the people taking it.

473384 tn?1210206242 like that was going to last!). 6 months ago I started taking diclofenac (an NSAID) and apparantly it works REALLY WELL for pain b/c I am supposed to stop taking it 7-10 days before surgery b/c of bleeding issues. Avatar n tn And please remember, that if you see multiple doctors, you should let them know all medications you take including anything over the counter such as aspirin. Here is information regarding diclofenac gel. https://www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids.
18663 tn?1198171815 There are many medications that are ototoxic to our ears causing hearing loss and tinnitus, some have permanent effects while others have side effects only while taking the medication. On your particular list, Asprin stands out the most. Asprin does cause hearing los & tinnitus as do most of the NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). As far as the your other medications, I would consult your physician to learn more about the side effects of those particular medications.
453731 tn?1225199508 You should not take acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, or NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) unless your doctor has told you to. NSAIDs include celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac (Voltaren), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), indomethacin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others. These medicines may affect blood clotting and could cause serious bleeding in your stomach or intestines. Avoid sudden changes in your diet. Vitamin K decreases the effects of Coumadin.
256161 tn?1196879046 0) I was wondering if anyone here has taken Arava (Leflunomide) and their side effects? I started it almost 3 weeks ago for the RA and Sjogrens and have started to have nausea, hair loss, skin sensitivity, burning or tingling of skin, and restless legs (already had, but much worse now), vivid dreams, and torso pain like a cramping sensation in back and sides. I have read too much bad stuff about this medicine and I am hoping someone has had a good experience with it.
