Avatar m tn This is a varicocele surgery on his testicles. He had a high fever a few hours ago. I injected diclofenac 75mg in his muscle due to his request. After that, I read about something like "Do not take diclofenac at least 7 days before a surgery". This is about the risk of bleeding, right? So, if his surgeon say that it will be ok, can we trust him? I'm freaking out. Please tell me what should I do. Thanks a lot.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.

Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.

Avatar f tn Arthrotec is a tablet containing a combination of diclofenac and misoprostol. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain. Misoprostol reduces stomach acid and replaces protective substances in the stomach that are reduced by NSAIDs. Arthrotec is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in people at high risk for developing stomach or intestinal ulcers.
Avatar m tn There are published studies of vitamin D levels and the risk of cardiovascular disease. Vitamin D levels greater than 30–40 ng/mL (75–100 nmol/L) may lower atherosclerosis risk. If this disorder reaches advanced stages, a physician should be consulted. How vitamin D works Vitamin D may reduce atherosclerosis in several ways: Reduces inflammation: Vitamin D shifts cytokine (protein) production away from inflammation. Internal swelling causes plaque lesions to develop.
Avatar f tn My liver levels two years ago were normal. How can this happen? I have been in Diclofenac (Naproxen) medicine for 3 1/2 months as result of a foot injury. Do you think my abnormal levels could be related to this medicine? I'm so concerned.
Avatar n tn I am writing on the connection of cancer in general (but breast cancer is specific) on cardiovascular risk associated with breast cancer. I am aware that treatment, whether it be chemo or radiation, can cause issues but I have been unable to find anything to support that the cancer itself causes problems. My prof assures me that it does. If anyone could help me out, or point me in the right direction on this topic I would be very grateful.
Avatar f tn A recent article reported that recover phase of exercise PVCs are a marker of increased risk of cardiovascular events. PVCs are trick because they cause significant symptoms in some people but also pose little risk. In fact the interventions like ablation and anti arrhythmic meds other than beta blockers actually pose a greater risk. The tough decisions is when the risk of medications and/or procedure is out weighed by the impact on your quality of life. I hope this helps.

Avatar m tn Coronary heart disease accounts for approximately 35% of all cardiovascular deaths and 10.5% of all deaths worldwide (2). Most risk factors of coronary heart disease are changeable, meaning coronary heart disease is a largely preventable disease (3). Avatar n tn Negative Considering the nature of my risk described above, do anyone of you recommend any further test for either HIV or any other STD? Please note that I was taking Diclofenac Natrium tablets twice a day for 4 days for knee pain just before getting tested. Is it possible by any chance that the diclofenac being a pain killer, could have suppressed the bacteria for syphilis/clamydia/gonorreah from being detected? Thanks in advance !
