Avatar n tn I have had my periods since I was ten (im 21) and they've almost always been associated with pain. i've been prescribed painkillers (mefenamic acid) by my gynac which makes it bearable although i cant exactly go on with my daily routines, i just pretty much sit at home n move about very little. over the years i've gone through 4 or 5 different painkillers and by now they dont work that well even after stepping up the dose to 500mg.
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including aspirin, diclofenac and ibuprofen, are associated with an allergic adverse effects, ranging from mild rash to life-threatening allergic reactions. In such cases it becomes difficult to select appropriate pain killer. The next we usually recommend is paracetamol (she is also allergic to this drug). The reason for such allergy is cross reactivity which is seen in this class of drugs.

Avatar n tn I’ll suggest you to use some painkillers (like diclofenac) and may be a local analgesic ointment and everything will be fine. Warm compresses will also help. Please be assured. It’s nothing serious and will be okay in a few days. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind Regards.
Avatar n tn I've been taking 150mg of diclofenac (split over 3 times a day), 600mg Tramadol ( again split up 3 times a day), 450mg Pregabalin (split up twice a day) & 60mg of dihydrocodine at night for about 5 months. I stopped taking the Tramadol 1 week ago and am having problems sleeping. I want to stop taking everything else., What symptoms am i likely to have if i just stop taking all these tablets in the morning.
Avatar f tn He has also reccommended coming off tramadol, and to see my doctor to get a prescription with stronger painkillers like co codamol and diclofenac so I am not jumping from a strong painkiller like tramadol to paracetemols as it would be difficult to cope with the pain!! You say your back pain is still requiring painkillers even 5 weeks on? Do you think it is operation recovery pain or the old pain still there?
Avatar f tn But he put me on 10mg baclofen( Only 1 tablet at bedtime) and diclofenac 100mg(1 tablet in morning)
Avatar m tn HI, For the last three days I have been having these migraine headaches that i dont know the cause.I tried using paracetamol, and other painkillers but the pains come back as sooon as after 3-5 hours!I also started feeling upper abdominal pains which i think were as a result of my peptic ulcers. What i dont is if these pains are related in any way!and what could have caused these persistent migraines?
653169 tn?1303446369 I tried Mobic and Nabumatone and had problems with upset stomach and headache. In addition to Fibromyalgia I also have arthritis in my spine and shoulder, so I take it for that and I can't live without it. Ibuprofen and Naproxen doesn't even touch the inflammation and pain.
Avatar f tn Yes, I do use this medication, however my RA doc has me make it up into a cream and use it topically instead of swallowing them and risking stomach and intestinal damage. Diclofenac is a rather old, but good good antinflamatory NSAID medication that really can ruin your stomach which is why they don't prescribe it much anymore. I know it may sound strange but it works really well.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
Avatar m tn Hi, There are other NSAIDS other than diclofenac that can be used in the treatment of gout. These include indomethacin and naproxen. Even paracetamol (acetaminophen) can provide pain relief in a gout attack. If your father has been prescribed a medication called dutasteride for treatment of the BPH, it is possible that the diclofenac was interacting with it and leading to his problems with urination.
Avatar n tn i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
1198371 tn?1265930422 We have to remember we have to walk before we can run. I was given diclofenac for 5 days and paracetamol and although it was very uncomfortable and quite painful I'm glad I wasn't on any stronger painkillers as these don't help your recovery as far as I'm concerned.
Avatar m tn I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
1204528 tn?1588786333 You are correct. The usual interactions suggest a decrease in levels of the other drugs taken with carbamazepine. Try searching for 'carbamazepine metabolism' and 'diclofenac metabolism'. It shows that both meds are metabolized by CYP3A4. Diclofenac may decrease levels of CYPA4 (search 'diclofenac inactivation CYP3A4); this could potentially lead to increased levels of carbamazepine.
Avatar n tn The effects of cholestyramine and colestipol on the absorption of diclofenac in man.Colestipol produces a similar but smaller effect. Though some information charts say that it should be used with caution in patients with Diabetes,it refers to underlying conditions as renal failure, hepatic impairment,IBS,stroke, clotting problems, asthma, allergies, CD/colitis,HTN,smoking,High LDL/HDL etc are present in your history. So donot worry about anything.
Avatar f tn s inflamed tendons and prescribed Diclofenac soldium XR, an anti-inflammatory, twice a day. Wondering if this drug is safe for him to take given hepatitis and Cirrhosis. He has a call back into the PCP to double check before taking it, and I have a call in to his hepatologist to double check before taking it. While waiting for calls back from PCP or hepatologist, wondering if anyone on this forum may know the answer?
Avatar n tn //www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.
Avatar f tn Hi, I posted this question in the Cirrhosis forum, but I thought maybe I'd post it here too, since many members of the Hep C forum also have Cirrhosis. I have a question about an anti-inflammatory medication called Diclofenac for a person with Cirrhosis.
Avatar f tn There may be reasons why, for you, she is suspecting the Diclofenac and not the other. Give her a call and ask. Let us know what happens. I'm glad you're feeling better though - it must have all been pretty scary. I have allergies to some meds, but it's all skin reactions, not breathing stuff. I imagine that's terrifying.
Avatar m tn Hi Krisnile, I was taking co-codrymodrol and diclofenac 2 of each at a time three times a day!
Avatar n tn You should try to keep moving if it doesnt cause you too much pain, but definately avoid lifting any more as this could just make things so much worse! Definately call your doctor and request more painkillers! When my back went I was in so much pain I couldn't move at all, and the pain was making me sick/nearly faint! The doctors gave me diclofenac but it did nothing for my pain, and even after contacting them, they wouldn;t offer alternative....
681148 tn?1437661591 but Shanna707 and I were just talking about Diclofenac. I have had trouble too with a lot of NSAIDs and stomach upset and Diclofenac seems to be one I can tolerate and it really helps my shoulder pain. If that isn't an option, you could get a steroid shot? I have a couple of other tips: use a roller ball mouse for your computer so you are not moving your arm. You just move your thumb. It takes about a day or two to get used to, but it helps a lot.
Avatar n tn I have red/brown freckles on my lower legs and ankles. Have been on diclofenac potassium for a year for a torn meniscus. Could that have caused those spots?
Avatar f tn Diclofenac is not an opiate and I have not seen anything indicating that it is addictive. This particular preparation is enteric coated, so it helps against stomach upset. It is part of the NSAID drug class and is an anti inflammatory. It is stronger than Aleive or Advil, so requires a prescription.
Avatar m tn However I am still experiencing terrible pain in my lower jaw. Yesterday, I went to the doctors for help and he prescribed me slow release Diclofenac and 30/500 co-codamol. This is helping but 4 hours after taking the co-codamol, the pain starts to return with a vengenace.
