Avatar f tn My liver levels two years ago were normal. How can this happen? I have been in Diclofenac (Naproxen) medicine for 3 1/2 months as result of a foot injury. Do you think my abnormal levels could be related to this medicine? I'm so concerned.
653169 tn?1303446369 I took it for inflammation in my foot. I have a calcification in my acheles tendon. I took an Essential Enzyme with it and had no stomach upset. You can get this at a health food store either online or in your neighborhood. I do know this prescription should not be taken for more than a month or so according to my doctor. So my doc just prescribed Voltaren topical. It's the same thing as diclofenac but topical so you are getting less than 1% of it in your body so it's much safer.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar f tn s inflamed tendons and prescribed Diclofenac soldium XR, an anti-inflammatory, twice a day. Wondering if this drug is safe for him to take given hepatitis and Cirrhosis. He has a call back into the PCP to double check before taking it, and I have a call in to his hepatologist to double check before taking it. While waiting for calls back from PCP or hepatologist, wondering if anyone on this forum may know the answer?
Avatar n tn There's a natural product called Cumerin-should be able to find it on-line or at a health store.. It helps!
Avatar f tn Think exactly when these various symptoms first occured. Then discuss it with your psychiatrist and see if they can reduce and/or change your medications so that you can tolerate them and they are more effective. There are still many options available.
Avatar m tn Also take intermittent ibuprofen and naproxen for the pain. Rest and do not exert yourself and do not do any weight bearing. Keep your feet elevated on a pillow during sleep. If the pain and inflammation continue then follow up with your orthopedician for a pain prescription. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hi, There are other NSAIDS other than diclofenac that can be used in the treatment of gout. These include indomethacin and naproxen. Even paracetamol (acetaminophen) can provide pain relief in a gout attack. If your father has been prescribed a medication called dutasteride for treatment of the BPH, it is possible that the diclofenac was interacting with it and leading to his problems with urination.
453731 tn?1225199508 NSAIDs include celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac (Voltaren), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), indomethacin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others. These medicines may affect blood clotting and could cause serious bleeding in your stomach or intestines. Avoid sudden changes in your diet. Vitamin K decreases the effects of Coumadin.
Avatar f tn Yes, I do use this medication, however my RA doc has me make it up into a cream and use it topically instead of swallowing them and risking stomach and intestinal damage. Diclofenac is a rather old, but good good antinflamatory NSAID medication that really can ruin your stomach which is why they don't prescribe it much anymore. I know it may sound strange but it works really well.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
Avatar n tn i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
Avatar f tn I still have no other symptoms today and the fever is either gone or controlled with the Rx diclofenac(anti-inflammatory like naproxen). I am beginning to wonder if I might have experienced this before if it were not for the medication that I take regularly except for yesterday when I tried to see how I felt without it. Just wondering if anyone has some advice for me... Thanks for reading this long, wordy post!! Be well!
Avatar f tn t give me anything that was dangerous but I researched it and some websites say not to take it during pregnancy ?
Avatar m tn on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn since this started i have had 5 courses of antibiotics (Cipro and Doxy), various anti inflammatory (naproxen, diclofenac, ibuprofen) and i have constantly been taking tramadol (up to 400mg per day). it is so bad I cannot work or even sit in a car while my partner drives me to each appointment. I am currently waiting for an MRI scan which will probably show nothing again i just find it hard to believe that the NHS can leave me like this and say there is nothing they can do.
Avatar n tn 00 PM, then in the afternoon the next day, I'd still have the equivalent of 1 unit of Naproxen in my system due to half-life metabolization. This would mean that if I drank alcohol that afternoon, it is the same as if I had just taken 1 naproxen on top of whatever I'm drinking. Yes? I would think so because the liver still has that unit to metabolize on top of the alcohol you are now consuming.
Avatar f tn Naproxen is just ibuprofen, which is Motrin and Aleve. I would think Celebrex would help a lot more than Naproxen. It can't hurt to ask for it. Naproxen didn't do anything for me, except hurt my stomach. The Celebrex helped a lot, right away.
Avatar m tn I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
Avatar m tn My pulse is exceptionally weak and my blood pressure is 156/90 after taking one (1) 500mg Naproxen and an amphetamine. I went and got my blood pressure checked, as well as my resting heart rate. The nurse never actually tried to feel my pulse, though. So I came home and I am very worried about how weak my pulse is. Has anybody heard weather or not taking Naproxen with an amphetamine can be harmful because it is not in the drug facts and I cannot find anything about it online either.
Avatar m tn Thanks so muchhhhh u all my frnds and seniors, yestday i showed my Uro by who i ws operated for varicos, orchidopexy and cystoscopy, He gave me 500 mg azithromycin, ciprofloxacin and diclofenac, serratio and paracetamol, ANd in examination he wrote might be epidydimal cyst, after one week he said do doppler and CBC, n Urin test, bt take these tabs for a week, Lets see wat happens, Bt thanks alot for your replies, I wil masturbate only once in a week as it burns if i dont masturbate in a w
1204528 tn?1588786333 You are correct. The usual interactions suggest a decrease in levels of the other drugs taken with carbamazepine. Try searching for 'carbamazepine metabolism' and 'diclofenac metabolism'. It shows that both meds are metabolized by CYP3A4. Diclofenac may decrease levels of CYPA4 (search 'diclofenac inactivation CYP3A4); this could potentially lead to increased levels of carbamazepine.
18663 tn?1198171815 Hello Jack, This is a very good question. There are many medications that are ototoxic to our ears causing hearing loss and tinnitus, some have permanent effects while others have side effects only while taking the medication. On your particular list, Asprin stands out the most. Asprin does cause hearing los & tinnitus as do most of the NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs).
222267 tn?1253302210 I take a drug called Naproxen 1000mg, it lasts all day long and is very strong. There are also other strong NSAIDS that you could try like Diclofenac and Indocid etc. You will need a Dr to write a script for those. I'm not suggesting that you take these on my advice alone, but you might want to talk to your Dr about them. There are also other types of drugs which may help you, such as anti-convulsants, which have pain killing properties as well. And of course, keep up the gentle excercise.
