Avatar f tn Type 1 and take a massive prescription of pills for peripheral neuropathy, diclofenac, oxecodone, nortriptyline, duloxitine diazepam are but a few. I started taking these 3 years ago and in those 3 years my sugarlevels are all over the place and I hav e gained 3 stone in weight. Exercise is painful and I have muscle weakness. Considered asking for a gastric band to be fitted. Is it the pills or just that I can no longer walk the distances or swim like I used too.
Avatar f tn Hi, I posted this question in the Cirrhosis forum, but I thought maybe I'd post it here too, since many members of the Hep C forum also have Cirrhosis. I have a question about an anti-inflammatory medication called Diclofenac for a person with Cirrhosis.
653169 tn?1303446369 I tried Mobic and Nabumatone and had problems with upset stomach and headache. In addition to Fibromyalgia I also have arthritis in my spine and shoulder, so I take it for that and I can't live without it. Ibuprofen and Naproxen doesn't even touch the inflammation and pain.
Avatar f tn Yes, I do use this medication, however my RA doc has me make it up into a cream and use it topically instead of swallowing them and risking stomach and intestinal damage. Diclofenac is a rather old, but good good antinflamatory NSAID medication that really can ruin your stomach which is why they don't prescribe it much anymore. I know it may sound strange but it works really well.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
Avatar n tn i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
Avatar m tn s the causes of depression? Does it relate to the neurotransmitter? Diazepam is an anti-depressant? It enhances the effect of GABA by binding to the benzodiazepine site on the GABA A-receptor. After binding to the receptor, may i know what's the next mechanism? GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter? If GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, how does diazepam can cause anti-depress? I heard that it can treat seizure?
Avatar m tn I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
1204528 tn?1588786333 You are correct. The usual interactions suggest a decrease in levels of the other drugs taken with carbamazepine. Try searching for 'carbamazepine metabolism' and 'diclofenac metabolism'. It shows that both meds are metabolized by CYP3A4. Diclofenac may decrease levels of CYPA4 (search 'diclofenac inactivation CYP3A4); this could potentially lead to increased levels of carbamazepine.
Avatar m tn I have had sleep apnea for a long time, and have read that I should not be taking a drug like diazepam as this could be extremely dangerous. Is this true ?
Avatar n tn The effects of cholestyramine and colestipol on the absorption of diclofenac in man.Colestipol produces a similar but smaller effect. Though some information charts say that it should be used with caution in patients with Diabetes,it refers to underlying conditions as renal failure, hepatic impairment,IBS,stroke, clotting problems, asthma, allergies, CD/colitis,HTN,smoking,High LDL/HDL etc are present in your history. So donot worry about anything.
Avatar m tn In addition I am tapering off diazepam and down to 2mg in the morning and 1 at night. Everytime I try to get off the concerta I get terrible anxiety from it. I have it to a degree while on it also. I want off but my dr who takes 3 weeks to get into anyway, won’t switch me to a med I can taper off of. I know 3 weeks is a short time compared to what most of you have been through. But can someone please tell me how long my withdrawals are going to last??
Avatar f tn s inflamed tendons and prescribed Diclofenac soldium XR, an anti-inflammatory, twice a day. Wondering if this drug is safe for him to take given hepatitis and Cirrhosis. He has a call back into the PCP to double check before taking it, and I have a call in to his hepatologist to double check before taking it. While waiting for calls back from PCP or hepatologist, wondering if anyone on this forum may know the answer?
Avatar n tn //www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.
Avatar m tn It reduces cognitive function long term, libido, you would not be able to drive some people will lie to thier friends and family AND thier Doctor over thier Diazepam taking habits (as in how much they eventually take as one dose). I never drank Alcohol to excess, but after massive urological surgery I was given it as a muscle relaxant, I was on it 10 years,10 LOST years.
Avatar m tn Hi all, I was commenced on xanax 12 mths ago for panic attacks. My GP (and to be honest me) felt we needed to keep increasing the dose. Within 3 mths I was on 6mg per day (in 3 divided doses). It almost cost me my marriage, job, home and friends. I found a new GP, whom recognised what was happening (i.e. I was addicted to xanax and loving it but a voice in the back of my head told me things were not right - hence finding another GP).
Avatar n tn It is not - these things are very hard to regulate. Secondly, (and please someone prove me wrong as i hope that I am) I have never heard of diazepam coming in capsule form - all that I have ever seen or heard of is in a tablet of some sort. Why did you not just get this from a doctor? Sure doctors are a little expensive to see if you have no money; however, the prescription itself is not that expensive at all.
3166043 tn?1514260018 I was wondering how "bad" this pill is? I take 5mg twice daily along with propanol and my lexapro but I see people saying not to stay on it for long and I've been on it a little over 2 years. I also take a pill when needed during a panic attack. I'm afraid what it's doing to my body besides helping the anxiety and how long are you supposed to be on it?
152264 tn?1280354657 I was told not to take diazepam as it will also suppress baby. Particularly in first and last trimester.
Avatar n tn Is Valium only used for a short period or for long term treatment for panic attacks and anxiety?
1352638 tn?1277025232 1/4 of a 4????? What exactly does that mean. I take 1/2 of 5mg and it just relaxes me. It is more of a muscle relaxant. I don't understand your 1/4 of a 4. What is the 4? And yes. Anxiety can do all kinds of things to you.
Avatar f tn There may be reasons why, for you, she is suspecting the Diclofenac and not the other. Give her a call and ask. Let us know what happens. I'm glad you're feeling better though - it must have all been pretty scary. I have allergies to some meds, but it's all skin reactions, not breathing stuff. I imagine that's terrifying.
Avatar f tn I was told that i had anxiety chest pain and they injected diazepam 5 mg and then a nurse came in to check my vitals again. My blood pressure was 124/87 or so. I was then sent home that night. I still feel that pressure in my chest and it truly worries me even though they keep telling me it's not heart related. I had seen a psychiatrist the day before this for the first time in some clinic and he told me that I was depressed and I should take Paxil.
Avatar f tn We first weened her from lorazepam to diazepam, and then tapered her down and completely off diazepam. It took about a year. I have nothing good to say about psychiatrists at all. Money grubbing pill pusher. Find a doctor who will work with you. The Ashton Method will work, you need to be patient, and be able to get access to xanax and then diazepam. Best of luck.
