diclofenac and bruising

m taking (Rizatriptan, Diclofenac, and Fulticasone) since I have only started to take the medication last year. I was on ibuprofen but stop taking them since the doctor thought the bruising was caused by it. The doctors are treating the conditions that I mentioned separately. I'm not sure if they should be treating the symptoms together or separate. I'm starting to get scared, I'm just want to know what is happening to me.

Noticed this week lots of bruises on thighs, butt and stomache. Has gotten much worse today. Had trouble sleeping lately and feel as if my breathing is off. The bruises are everywhere now. I do not take medicine normally for anything. However, 3 weeks ago a doctor put me on diclofenac sod ec for tennis elbow while I go to physical therapy. Can this cause all of this or should I run to an emergency room?

Anyhow, today I had one stick that seemed flawless. However the area is now very swollen and VERY tender to the touch at the site and several inches away from the site. It's starting to bruise as well. I've had bruising before though... Is the swelling and pain something I should be concerned about?

I tried Mobic and Nabumatone and had problems with upset stomach and headache. In addition to Fibromyalgia I also have arthritis in my spine and shoulder, so I take it for that and I can't live without it. Ibuprofen and Naproxen doesn't even touch the inflammation and pain.

Yes, I do use this medication, however my RA doc has me make it up into a cream and use it topically instead of swallowing them and risking stomach and intestinal damage. Diclofenac is a rather old, but good good antinflamatory NSAID medication that really can ruin your stomach which is why they don't prescribe it much anymore. I know it may sound strange but it works really well.

Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.

I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.

You are correct. The usual interactions suggest a decrease in levels of the other drugs taken with carbamazepine. Try searching for 'carbamazepine metabolism' and 'diclofenac metabolism'. It shows that both meds are metabolized by CYP3A4. Diclofenac may decrease levels of CYPA4 (search 'diclofenac inactivation CYP3A4); this could potentially lead to increased levels of carbamazepine.

I have had trouble too with a lot of NSAIDs and stomach upset and Diclofenac seems to be one I can tolerate and it really helps my shoulder pain. If that isn't an option, you could get a steroid shot? I have a couple of other tips: use a roller ball mouse for your computer so you are not moving your arm. You just move your thumb. It takes about a day or two to get used to, but it helps a lot.

I have red/brown freckles on my lower legs and ankles. Have been on diclofenac potassium for a year for a torn meniscus. Could that have caused those spots?

Ha ha ha! I guess we'll never know about the ****. Anyhow, I've tried just about every NSAID known to man and the Votaren was the best for me. I've seen an ophthalmologist and I think I'll be ok. If I notice an increase in the floaters I'll let him know and stop it again. I don't know what I'll do if I have to stop taking the Voltaren though. The pain I have been in is horrible.

I hear what you are saying. The reason I am so confused is because I take a couple other medication and no such incidence have ever been reported on the prescribing information. My pharmacist has heard of this happening and I was hoping find another person who had experienced this phenomenon, or perhaps to finally put this worry of mine to rest. What I will probably do is work with my Rheumatologist and Ophthalmologist and go back on Voltaren.

At the moment he is a miserable male, moaning and groaning about everything. Has stress at work and stress at home. told him to leave each set of stress in the appropriate place so at least he only comes home with home (me poorly, elderly,poorly mum lives with us) with one steress. The doctor thought I had crohn's disease, but then said I didn't after he performed the procedure. I was told I have a thickening of the colon so they are still trying to figure out.
