Diaper rash zinc

Common Questions and Answers about Diaper rash zinc

rash

344352 tn?1605238012 I think the Aveeno one and the Johnson and Johnson kinds are very low. The ONLY diaper rash cream with a high amount of zinc oxide is Desitin Original at 40% !!! That's a lot higher than the rest of them and I've been using that on my son since he was about 2 months old (he got a rash using Balmex, so I switched). We put it on him around 2-3 times per day (definitely at night).
3062924 tn?1350414109 I'm a ftm and my daughter has a diaper rash. I put destin on her when I change her n try to change her every 2 hrs or so. Except at night. Instead of getting better it looks worse. I was gonna go to the dr but theres a blizzard. Any other ideas to help until we can get to the dr???
290867 tn?1333569278 I would get the overnight cream it has 40% of zinc ( I think it is 40 but could be more) anyway most just have 10% zinc. It was the only thing that cleared up DD diaper rash when she was first born. Also I just wanted to suggest not using wipes at all. I would use the peri bottle they gave me in the hospital to rinse DD hiney off and put the Desitin on. DD is almost 11 months old and I never buy wipes I use a wet wash cloth and she has never had a diaper rash since. Anyway just a suggestion.
Avatar f tn In addition, see if you can get her to eat a little yogurt (to put back the intestinal bacteria destroyed by the antibiotic). That helps our DD along with the Lotrimin ointment. If she won't eat it directly, we would mix it in with some milk. Our first DD only drank choc milk, so I got the choc whips yogurt to add to it. Restalyn also was a good diaper rash helper.
Avatar f tn Sometimes diaper rash can get so serious the pediatrician should see it. If the child has open sores on his or her bottom, it might be time to call in at the doctor. I used to have pretty good luck with some of the creams meant for yeast-based infections, but you need to ask your pedi.
Avatar m tn Ensure that her bottom is well cleaned after she has emptied her bowels (use a wet wipe and dry the bottom, or use a dampened toilet tissue paper). Use the diaper rash ointment, Sudocrem or an ointment with zinc, your pharmacist will also be able to assist to help you choose one. If the problem does not start to improve within a couple of days, get a doctor to check her over. Sometimes soreness can be caused by a fungal infection.
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, her symptoms are suggestive of diaper rash a type of irritant dermatitis. It seems secondary to the garments or diaper she is wearing and sweating will worsen the condition. If it is left untreated for more than 3 days then it can lead to Candida (fungal) infection. The symptoms can be managed by use of - White petrolatum, Zinc oxide cream or Sucralfate can be used which acts as protective barrier. - Use of powders such as cornstarch or talcum powder is also helpful.
Avatar f tn ve read online about using zinc oxide cream on the bumps to clear them up and we have been using a diaper rash cream that is 40% zinc oxide. Just wondering if anyone has used this treatment and if it was successful and how long it took to clear the bumps.
Avatar f tn So, I have a little girl who is almost 8 months and she STAYS with a diaper rash. She has had the same one for well over a month now and we have done EVERYTHING. She's been to the pediatrician twice, we change her diaper every single time it's dirty, we've used Boudreauxs regular and maximum strength butt paste and we've used desitin. We've also used Johnson's baby powder AND Caldesene powder in the pink and blue bottles.
Avatar f tn It happened to my daughter. She always had a rash. We switched from using a diaper rash cream to coconut oil (since its a soft solid a room temperature) and haven't had the rash problem since. Going over a year of a constant rash/redness to nothing just by switxhing to coconut oil. It was amazing!! I plan on using nothing but coconut oil with this baby too.
Avatar f tn It's called butt past in a yellow & white tube, it worked for my babies in a bout 1 day. I warn you not to use desitin because it can make diaper rash worse, doctor told me and I experienced it with both my babies. If what I recommended doesn't work try going to your doctor and ask for "poop goop", also ask the doctor if he thinks it could be a yeast rash. If it's a yeast rash diaper rash creams & ointments will make it worse and it won't clear up.
Avatar f tn My poor baby has a pretty bad diaper rash. I've been using desitin and a&d but it doesn't seem to be working?? Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn After a week, the swelling has increased. I have tried hydrocortizone cream, diaper rash cream with zinc oxide, antibiotic and antifungal creams. Nothing worked and it's extremely painful and I'm unable to walk properly. Any suggestions?.
Avatar f tn When my daughter had a really bad diaper rash while she was in the hospital (for a respiratory problem) the nurses mixed up a cream for her that took care of it in one day corn starch mallox petroleum jelly balmex mix together and it makes a nice cream that works really well, I still use it today if my girls get a red booty
Avatar m tn My year old daughter has just had a rash that was totally symmetrical and bright red across her entire pelvis and upper thighs. Would HSV present like that? We called and doctor said put zinc on it for several days and nothing helped. Then many small brown spots appeared almost like tiny little "scabs" thought there was nothing to pick off. The next day it was better though there was vulvar irritation.
Avatar f tn t healing the skin burn because the stress was affecting my immune function. I used the Dove soap, then put on hydrocortisone cream, then the zinc oxide diaper rash cream. Ahh. The burn is subsiding now. Thanks. I wonder what you're doing now in 2015.
Avatar f tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be folliculitis, seat dermatitis, heat rash, diaper rash, contact dermatitis or psoriasis.Looking at the age of the child, diaper or heat rash is a possibility. Allow your son to wear cotton undergarments and keep the buttocks clean and hygienic. Also after washing the area with water, pat dry the buttocks.Pls do not apply any cream on the byttocks as it will leda to further clogging of pores. You can however apply a light dusting powder.
Avatar m tn I have not applied any type of moisturizer and have been applying Zinc cream for diaper rash. It did seem to begin to clear up and then didn't change. I am not really sure what to do now but if nothing changes by the 1st of October I will have to go and see a Doctor.
Avatar f tn Check pictures of a yeast diaper rash and see if it looks like that
Avatar n tn Spots in this area can be distressing, but what you describe sounds harmless. Buy a pot of Sudocrem, it is used for diaper rash but is also good for acne, eczema and other blemishes. You only need to apply a little bit so it lasts for ages, and the zinc it contains will heal these sorts of skin ailments.
