Avatar m tn Ensure that her bottom is well cleaned after she has emptied her bowels (use a wet wipe and dry the bottom, or use a dampened toilet tissue paper). Use the diaper rash ointment, Sudocrem or an ointment with zinc, your pharmacist will also be able to assist to help you choose one. If the problem does not start to improve within a couple of days, get a doctor to check her over. Sometimes soreness can be caused by a fungal infection.
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, her symptoms are suggestive of diaper rash a type of irritant dermatitis. It seems secondary to the garments or diaper she is wearing and sweating will worsen the condition. If it is left untreated for more than 3 days then it can lead to Candida (fungal) infection. The symptoms can be managed by use of - White petrolatum, Zinc oxide cream or Sucralfate can be used which acts as protective barrier. - Use of powders such as cornstarch or talcum powder is also helpful.
Avatar f tn ve read online about using zinc oxide cream on the bumps to clear them up and we have been using a diaper rash cream that is 40% zinc oxide. Just wondering if anyone has used this treatment and if it was successful and how long it took to clear the bumps.
Avatar f tn So, I have a little girl who is almost 8 months and she STAYS with a diaper rash. She has had the same one for well over a month now and we have done EVERYTHING. She's been to the pediatrician twice, we change her diaper every single time it's dirty, we've used Boudreauxs regular and maximum strength butt paste and we've used desitin. We've also used Johnson's baby powder AND Caldesene powder in the pink and blue bottles.
Avatar f tn It happened to my daughter. She always had a rash. We switched from using a diaper rash cream to coconut oil (since its a soft solid a room temperature) and haven't had the rash problem since. Going over a year of a constant rash/redness to nothing just by switxhing to coconut oil. It was amazing!! I plan on using nothing but coconut oil with this baby too.

Avatar m tn After a week, the swelling has increased. I have tried hydrocortizone cream, diaper rash cream with zinc oxide, antibiotic and antifungal creams. Nothing worked and it's extremely painful and I'm unable to walk properly. Any suggestions?.
Avatar m tn My year old daughter has just had a rash that was totally symmetrical and bright red across her entire pelvis and upper thighs. Would HSV present like that? We called and doctor said put zinc on it for several days and nothing helped. Then many small brown spots appeared almost like tiny little "scabs" thought there was nothing to pick off. The next day it was better though there was vulvar irritation.
Avatar f tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be folliculitis, seat dermatitis, heat rash, diaper rash, contact dermatitis or psoriasis.Looking at the age of the child, diaper or heat rash is a possibility. Allow your son to wear cotton undergarments and keep the buttocks clean and hygienic. Also after washing the area with water, pat dry the buttocks.Pls do not apply any cream on the byttocks as it will leda to further clogging of pores. You can however apply a light dusting powder.
Avatar f tn t healing the skin burn because the stress was affecting my immune function. I used the Dove soap, then put on hydrocortisone cream, then the zinc oxide diaper rash cream. Ahh. The burn is subsiding now. Thanks. I wonder what you're doing now in 2015.

Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, her symptoms are suggestive of diaper rash a type of irritant dermatitis. It seems secondary to the garments or diaper she is wearing and sweating will worsen the condition. If it is left untreated for more than 3 days then it can lead to Candida (fungal) infection. That may cause smell and discharge. Firstly, she should be taken for investigations as it should not spread and worsen.
Avatar n tn Rash became worse and spread up to top of crevice at end of lower back. Tried zinc oxide diaper cream, but rash continues to itch and be there. Is this a fungal infection I should treat with something like Lamasil?
Avatar n tn Hi, I ripped my skin on the underside of my penis earlier this year. I tried waiting and not having sex for months while putting on conventional lotion but that didn't work. What did work was diaper rash cream that I applied every night for a month. I used Desitin but I'm sure any diaper rash cream would work. I essentially picked the product with the highest zinc oxide content, which I believe is the active ingredient. Desitin had a zinc oxide content of 37%.
6498330 tn?1389709379 It isn't a cream but the best thing I have ever found for diaper rash is gold bond baby powder
432737 tn?1358549432 t use it in case it is a yeast infection and not diaper rash but I knew it was diaper rash because if the diarrhea. DH and I stopped using all wipes and decided that at every diaper change we would run him under the sink sprayer. Boy did he like that better. And, we'd let it dry for a couple minutes and powder with corn starch...no paste, nothing else. Well, Jack had diarrhea through the night at midnight, 1 and 2 a.m. We groggily rinsed him every time and powdered with starch.
Avatar f tn I first started off just using medicated powder, but that just left my skin dry and flaky. Then I tried using creams, such as diaper rash cream with zinc oxide and miconazole yeast infection cream, which left the areas moist of course. I was wondering what should I be using, and should I be using the cream and then placing powder over the top so it isn't moist? Also anything to calm the itch? I have been searching so many forums on these steps, but so far no answers.
Avatar f tn My 5 1/2 month old daughter has had diarrhea for 3 weeks now. She is only Enfamil Prosobee formula and has been since she was 1 month old. She has no other symptoms, only diarrhea which has also developed a horrible diaper rash. I took her to the doctor and he didn't seem too concerned because she hadn't lost any weight and didn't seem dehydrated. He did a stool sample testing and everything came back negative.
Avatar f tn I am female and every once in a while I get this round, red welt around my anus that is painful. I tried to keep tabs on what I ate that day to see if anything sets if off. Usually using a diaper rash ointment on it overnight relieves it, but since it is symmetrical I don't think it is considered a rash. Could it mean more of a problem or just try it as I am.
290867 tn?1333569278 I am so upset my little baby boy is only 11 days old and has the worst diaper rash. I called his peditrition ( whom of which he hasnt seen yet) and he told me to wash him down there with Leaver 2000 and use a mixture of Neosporen and vasalene and he perscribed him a cream called Nystatin 30GM. Is anyone farmiliar with that cream? I am just really skepcital about using a perscription on a newborn espically when the peditrition has not even seen him yet. Maybe I am paranoid... Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Thank you so much. I started off using my baby's Aveeno Diaper rash cream and that stings a little at first but feels a little better soon after.Tomorrow i plan on trying Cortaid or Preparation H.
Avatar f tn It usually starts out on one arm pit, the a few days later I get it on the other one. When I use the diaper rash cream, or the diaper rash cream mixed with a little of the cortasone cream, it starts to get better. I reached a point in the last few days where the burn (rash) had finally disappeared and all that was there was the thin scab (about three inches length wise).
