After 2 weeks my infection is back. I am a type 2 diabetic and this has gone on for 8 months. What kind of test can I beg for to find the problem?

Can a steel toe show cause a blister or ulcer to a diabetic person? what can cause a blister to a diabetics feet. Can a diabetic person performing repetetive squating and using a standng forklift for long periods of time cause the foot to blister?

Hi, my dad has really bad sugar diabetes. It's become so extreme because he didn't take his insulin or medication for about 15 or so years so he had to get his toe then his foot then up to his knee cut off.He has vascular blood disease,kidney failure [he will be starting dialysis soon],his eyesight has become very poor[he's legally blind],and he has severe neurapothy[sorry if I misspelled anything].

I was going to say diabetic neuropathy but usually you get pain or tingling in the extremities with that and not just foot going to sleep. That is why I didn't mention it. But it is a good thing to check out to make sure you are not diabetic too, it can't hurt.

My dad got wounds on both the toes with holes made impinging into 1/4th of the skin present in each toe which is caused actually by cutting a little piece of extra dead skin on outer part of the toe 10 years ago. When the Diabetics has been detected by then.. since these cut wounds didn't start to heel upon perfectly fine toes back then. From then they extended to lower parts of the toe from extremely outer part ( we can say outer sideway of toe ).

I am a 19 year old type 1 diabetic and recently had an ingrown toe, the wound from that is basically healed up and progressing nicely (thank god) but now all this dead (I guess?) skin around the toe has come off and I'm left with half my toe covered in the normal layer of skin and half of the toe (big toe btw) missing the first layer or two of skin!

Michele, I can feel your pain. I just broke my pinky toe 2 days ago and then hit it on the same piece of furniture again last night. You said you broke some other "little bones" , does that mean you had x-rays? If you haven't seen an ortho doctor you should consider it. There is a break of the 5th toe called a Jones fracture. A friend of my girls and my sister in law both had it. It is a slow fracture to heal .

I'm diabetic. My cat walked over my foot, her toe nail dug into my big toe next to nail. Have celluitis now as result and on antibiotic. Urgent care doctor told me if it doesn't get better in 5 days to call my doctor to be scene. Toe looks worse to me today, Monday 7-30 been on antibiotic since late Sat. evening. ve picked up cycling about 40-50 miles per week along with strenuous training and noticed a solo abscess on my labia after a cycle session where I had tight fitting underwear. I had numbness on my right toe about three years ago and it was a nerve compressed right around my lower spine.. I had what they call sciatica. The lesions are resistant to terbanifine and all topical anti-fungals. He has had repeated courses of antibiotics for a non diabetic neuropathic ulcer on his big toe now amputated.
