Common Questions and Answers about Diabetic living winter 2008

diabetes

Avatar f tn I had a heart stent inserted in 2008 and began taking blood pressure pills and and quite a few other drugs. During the winter of 2009 I began experiencing leg cramps while long distance bike riding. When I commented on this to my cardiologist, nephrologist & endrocronologist, 2 of the 3 suggested quinine water. My nephrologist also suggested magnesium supplements which I take regularly and I believe this is what has fixed my problem.
Avatar f tn I asked a question on the 20th of October 2008 about my mom that has brain damage after diabetic coma. Have'nt received any reply. Where do I get a reply from please? Have been checking all the time but had no luck.

1255505 tn?1272819115 like flynnster said - My worst manic episodes have always occured in the winter-. My worst was January 2008 and January 2010 why I don't know. And now I keep my fingers crossed but terrifuied because I started to eat more, sleep less weight increase, high energy so I upped my AP\s hoping to kill it before it attacks me.

Avatar n tn I had my Chiari operation in March of 2008 followed by a CSF leak repair in April 2008. I was on disbility from March until July. I now work full time, actually more than full time. I have good days and bad. Today actually is a bad day. The leg pain is terrible. I was up all night with it. Hopefully I can stay at my desk all day. I am in the same boat with the exercise situation. I can't walk from the train without getting a headache. My first surgery aliviated everything!
Avatar n tn I only notice this happens during the winter. Any suggestions. I have not gone to the doctor yet, but if it persist, I will need to...
Avatar n tn My partner is sweating real bad at night everynight he is a type 1 diabetic we wake up and the bed is saturated.he is only 25 and been a diabetic since he was 15 years.
Avatar m tn You need to make sure you continue to eat low glycemic foods to keep your glucose levels down. At 5.7, you'd still be pre-diabetic, but you can lower that even more. You don't mention any exercise. That can go a long way toward helping to keep glucose levels in check. As for the dry feet - it's winter time and dry skin is normal this time of year. Beyond that, there are other conditions that cause dry skin, such as hypothyroidism and dehydration.
20160933 tn?1491407323 Hi in the winter of 2008 i got really sick i couldnt walk my leggs and feet felt heavy a loud thumbing sound heard through my body and my hearing shut off and my vision went black for some seconds no doctor can tell me what this episode was but since then havent been the same what could this be?
Avatar f tn They came back the following summer and again they went away at winter. I have always thought they were because of a heavy winter duvet we use and because I seem to be a warmer person than normal. But now I read that night sweats are usually a sign of ominous disease such as HIV. Other symptoms I have are a few colds/flus over the last years and a UTI infection (kidney infection) which occured at the beginning of my relationship with my husband.
1747881 tn?1546175878 Stop Burning Wood To Keep Warm In Alaska’s interior, where it can reach -50 degrees Fahrenheit in winter, the EPA wants people to stop burning wood. But it's just about their only feasible way to stay warm. In Jack London’s famous short story, “To Build A Fire,” a man freezes to death because he underestimates the cold in America’s far north and cannot build a proper fire.
Avatar n tn I was sick for about a month and finally got better. almost a year to the day in the winter of 2008 i began to show similar symptoms of mono except for the soar throat. I had severe pain in my neck and back of my head which moved to my lower back. I was also very fatigued and had a low grade fever of about 99.5. I went to my doctor numerous times in two weeks and got blood tests done every time. I was tested for apparently everything possible.
Avatar f tn I am new to this forum and just looking for advice on living with ptsd. I also have thyroid issues and the combination is devastating. I feel I am unable to function is society roght now. I worked in the health care field for many years and can no longer put a uniform on. Right now I am unemployed, don't think I could even interview for a job without them thinking I was crazy. I fear I might break down during an interview.
20797909 tn?1510806713 Hi, names Max. I am seventeen years old and I have been suffering with extreme problems sleeping for.. 24 hours. Here's the catch, last winter, as in the winter of 2016-2017 for months was fighting with inability to sleep. I thought I got athlete's foot from the locker room because I always walked around bare foot like an idiot, logical conclusion. It wasn't, I tried every form of anti-fungal powder spray and lotion I could find and it only provided temporary relief.
Avatar m tn Hi I'm a 29 y o male from UK England and I've been having cold tingling sensations on my hands and feet and upper arms which usually goes way after meals. I've been to see the doctor and he sent me to have a blood test to see if I have diabetes. Well that was back in March. I know very foolish. Now its becoming more serve. It just won't stop. I haven't eaten all day and still I'm getting these sensations.
870040 tn?1252615119 I really wished we would have pushed for more specific reasoning as to why the secondary debulking was not recommended. My Mom is overweight, diabetic, and our gynonc doctor seemed to make it more about those types of body habitus factors than the actual procedure. We felt like she was saying we didn't 'deserve' a second shot because of Mom's weight and other conditions, and that the disease would kill her anyways, so why try?
Avatar n tn Hi, It's really great to hear of all these long living diabetic people. I'm 50 and was diagnosed type 1 when I was 17. So far I have nearly always worked full time - earlier as a nurse and more recently as a primary teacher. I have one beautiful daughter now 19 and I suppose that's why I asked the question of life expectancy. She is at uni and plans to be a Lawyer so lots more years before grand children.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have noticed for quite some time now that my toes turn very blue while I am standing/sitting. At first I thought it was because of the winter months, but now as the heat is rolling in, only one toe slightly shades blue (left foot, toe that is right next to pinky toe). I am not sure what it could mean? My feet are usually very cold too but I noticed recently even when they are not and I am moving around, my toe tends to turn a shade of blue, when I press on it, it goes back to normal.
Avatar f tn My biggest life lesson came when I realized living really is the hardest part of dying, and living was not something I cared to do at that time. I just wanted the pain to go away and it wouldn't. In an effort to comfort us people would ask the stupidest questions, like how are you doing and make the dumbest comments like that time will heal the wound.
