Avatar f tn We’ve done gastric emptying which showed no gastroparesis and he had a endoscopy that did not find anything. Does anybody have a clue what could be going on?
Avatar f tn endoscopy, MRI, CT Scan, Blood test, gastric emptying, Meckles Test, 24 hour Urine test, MRCP Test, and CT Enteroclysis. They also took his gall bladder with the "hope" that was the problem, it wasn't. All test mentioned above came back within normal ranges.
1466277 tn?1286312305 Gastroparesis is not deadly. I actually have gastroparesis so I can answer almost all questions about it. It basically means the stomach empties really slowly. This can cause nausea (appetite loss), vomiting, quickly getting full after eating, not digesting food properly, and weight loss. There are many different medications for this.
Avatar f tn Looking for a third opinion. After having a colonoscopy, endoscopy, capsule study, and stomach emptying study I have been diagnosed with Gastroparesis. I have been given medication that does not work, lost weight (no complaint there), constantly feel full, and have pain. I have been told there is no cure for this and this diagnosis is usually found in people with diabetes which Im not a diabetic. I have been to see two doctors in this field and Im looking now for a third opinion.
Avatar f tn My first thought is diabetic gastroparesis. Google that phrase along with the word SYMPTOMS, and see if you think it could be a match. It is a nerve problem. Supposedly there are not many treatments for it, so keeping your diabetes under control is most important. I would talk to others with diabetes; some of them are dealing with this also. I would think the enzymes are fine. I take many supplements to aid my digestion, although I don't think mine is gastroparesis.
Avatar n tn I am trying a gastroenterologist - can you advise me what to ask for? Possibly an endoscopy? Also, do I display any symptoms of an endocrine disorder? This has been going on for two months and no one is any closer to identifying the problem. Please, can you help me?
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Have you had a gastric emptying scan? This tests for gastroparesis which is slow emptying of the stomach.
Avatar n tn I have a 9yr old type 1 diabetic. She has bad acid reflux with gastroparesis symptoms too. she has an endo Dr and Gastro Dr. Has been tested for celiac in blood. upper gi colonoscopy all "normal". She is still misrable and so am I what can I do?
Avatar n tn i have diabetic gastroparesis for 4 years now without good treatment, am extremely nauseous whether i eat or not, have lost a lot of weight and i have malnutrition due to not eating well. sometimes i go for a month without ever eating. what medications or lifestyle changes should i make that could really help because am at home cant have a normal life? please help me.
Avatar n tn Initially, I was diagnosed with GERD and an esophageal stricture (which was dilated during an endoscopy). I was also diagnosed with a slight hiatal hernia. I have been on some type of GERD med continuously for about five years and seemed to be stabilized on the meds up until about the last four months. For the last four months, it initially appeared that my GERD was worsening again. I switched to a stronger med and began supplementing more with Tums.
Avatar f tn i was recently diagnosed with gastritis and gastroparesis during my last endoscopy (used to have ulcers). I have IBS-C and have been hospitalized with diverticulitis in the past. The doctor gave me a script for Reglan and walked away.I never took the Reglan, the side effects were too bad. I went on line to find diets for both but they appear to be conflicting & am in a lot of pain trying to find out what i can eat. Needless to say the IBS has kicked in..big time.
Avatar f tn It's called diabetic diarrhea and it is caused by neuropathy. Gastroparesis is another symptom of diabetic neuropathy.
484160 tn?1343397921 Then they took out her gallbladder on the 10th of this month. Now they are calling it diabetic stomach (gastroparesis). She has been throwing up uncontrollably off and on for 2 years. She went in on the 10th and they removed her gallbladder. She went home from that and was back in the hospital on the 14th or 15th. They kept her until last night, sent her home and she is headed back to the hospital this morning, still throwing up.
Avatar m tn Hi, it is possible to detect gastroparesis with endoscopy if your doctor has done additional tests. Another way to study is with a gastric-emptying study, which measures how long it takes for food to move through your stomach. In gastroparesis, the muscles in the wall of your stomach work poorly or not at all. This prevents your stomach from emptying properly. Gastroparesis can interfere with digestion, cause nausea vomiting and cause problems with blood sugar levels and nutrition.
Avatar f tn I'm Type 2 Diabetic and have other issues with my health, i have Gastroparesis, Barretts disease, IBS, Acid Reflux ( Gerd ) Stomach Hernia, and have had 9 Polyps taken from my Bowels ( non cancerous ). I know it's the diabetes thats killing the nerve endings in my stomach which has give me the gastroparesis but how do i control my sugars? i do my best but find it real hard.
Avatar m tn I don't know how long I have had diabetes II, I started on pills maybe in 1996. There was no name like Gert or Gastroparesis. A Doctor shoved a pipe down my throat and looked at my ? What he said sounded like something like a "cut" in my esophagus that let acid come up into my esophagus. I learned over 2 years, anytime I ate Roast Beef or tomatoe Juice, that place would close up and keep water from going into my stomach, after a few minutes, it would open back up.
Avatar f tn gastroparesis is a life changing condition that is hard to cope with and vary little options on helping it, i would disscus options with your doctor and eat smaller portions of food by giving your stomach that extra time it needs to digest.
Avatar f tn My GI doctor did a capsule endoscopy last March, and found I had delayed gastric emptying. I would eat and 12 hours later, throw up what I ate. He has since put me on phenergen and librax for this problem. I have been checked for ulcerative colitis, crohns, you name it. They have all come back normal. I have had countless EGDs and colonoscopies that reveal nothing. I did have a recent hospital visit where another EGD was preformed, and they found a hiatal hernia.
Avatar n tn You can access more information on the drug by going to www.zelnorm.com. i take it because i have diabetic gastroparesis, which is cause by damage to the autonomic nerves controlling the stomach and intestines. i have found it very helpful in restoring normal movement in the whole gastric system. i hope you also find it to be helpful. i haven't noticed any side effects though if you occasionally get diareah (sp?) it can make that worse.
Avatar n tn com This site has a forum. The president of the US based non-profit is a type I diabetic with gastroparesis. She has a lot of insight and suggestions regarding gastroparesis and its affect on diabetes.
Avatar n tn With a diabetic and gastric problems you have to think about gastroparesis but could be a lot of different things. http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/gastroparesis/ Three months of nausea after eating is easily 87 days too many. Hope you feel better very soon.
Avatar m tn I had an h pylori infection which was eradicated. 5 weeks after treatment I was still having symptoms so I had an endoscopy and biopsy of my stomach showed moderate chronic gastritis in the antrum and that was all. Biopsy of my small intestine was normal. I feel like I have an upset stomach almost all the time and right after I eat my stomach feels upset, like what I'm eating isn't agreeing with me. This happens no matter what I eat. But then about 1.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis recently. I would like to know, since the Vagus nerve is involved, in what way is the Vagus nerve connected with the Sympathetic Nervous System? Also, I became extremely ill after a trip to Mexico a few years back, could that have anything to with now having this disease? This morning I spit up some dark colored blood, should I be concerned, or am I worried about a normal problem with Gastroparesis?
