Avatar f tn You do have to pay attention you the calories you eat... If you eat too few, your body will start holding onto existing fat stores, because there isn't enough food coming in. As boz said you do have to cut back on calories to lose weight, you just can't cut too many. An adult female should not take in less than 1200 calories/day.
Avatar f tn I want to loose around 40/50 pounds, so i have decided to try the 1200 calorie eating plan with as much exercise as I can with a young baby! This is a lifestyle change so there's no rush to my main target but i would like to see a good change in around 4 months, how much loss should I be looking to aim for in this amount of time and any other tips would be great on staying motivated!!
Avatar n tn For me I am tracking both macros and also have a target daily calories of about 1400 calories. In my case my macro targets are 5% carbs (20g), 15% protein (60g) and 80% fats. A small scale is useful for weighing foods. Read labels. Focus on eating unprocessed foods. As a general guideline when eating low carb the easiest way is to cut out all grains and added sugars. No sweetened foods either. Fruits will be limited to small portions of low carb fruits such as berries.

Dog I am a 42 year old female that wants to lose about 25 - 30 lbs, I have cut my calories to 1200 a day along with exercise an average of 6 days a week for the past month.I also started a 5k training 3 times a week two weeks ago to change my exercise up as well. I do also drink plenty of water on most days. I have lost zero weight and begining to get frustrating. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to start losing some weight??
Avatar f tn I noticed after that the calories slowly started to decrease,  ending up today with just 788 calories.  I would like to know why? If it will continue to decrease I will end up eating too less and I cannot call that healthy. I know the purpose is to loose unwanted weight but the most important is to have a balanced weight and a healthy body.  I will like to know what can I do to stick with my initial calories from when I started.
Avatar f tn Losing one pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories...soooo with a negative 1200 calories per day it would take you about 3 days to lose one pound or in other words if you can maintain the 1200 calories of negative intake you should drop about 2 pounds per week.. These figures are just estimates..but I think they are pretty close to being correct...
Avatar f tn I agree with TrudiC...500 calories a day is suicidal! If you are really wanting to lose weight the right way then i think you shud consider eating healthy and exercsing. Simply straving yourself is not the right thing to do and it could lead to seroius consequences....
Avatar f tn I'm 5 weeks and 4days with my 3rd.. I want to avoid getting to big like I did with my last 2.. I am 5'4 146lbs... is 1200 calories of healthy foods good? 219363 tn?1189755821 I am dieting and exercising not only to feel better, but also to lose weight. I have done a very strict low calorie diet with 1200-1500 calories, and exercise everyday. I might lose 1 lb in 3-4 weeks that way. I have recently started a low carbohydrate diet with calories maybe 1500-1800 daily and 20 carbs maximum. My intake consists of vegetables, lean beef, chicken, pork and fish. I also eat eggs and 4 oz of cheese daily. I am losing weight on this plan.
Avatar f tn Take insulin. Eating appx 1200 calories per day and exercising about 1 hour per day. Combing aerobics with weight lifting. Weight loss has been very slow, around 2 lbs per month. I have an appointment to see a nutritionist next week. Not sure of what questions to ask. My goals are to control my blood sugar, improve health, lose weight. Any advice.

Avatar f tn Does anyone have any weight loss tips bar starvation for those of us who are very VERY limited in physical activities? Even keeping calories to under 1200 a day isn' helping me - still gaining weight. HELP!
Avatar f tn It is essential to maintain ones BMI in a healthy range. It is important to know that a diet plan is not about cutting down calories; it’s about ‘healthy’ eating. With cutting on diet one may initially lose weight but this may remain static or increase later due to fat accumulation.
Avatar f tn An effective diet plan for weight reduction is all about making a caloric deficiency day by day. You have to figure out the amount of calories you require every day to keep up your weight. You can do this by reproducing your weight in pounds by 10. In case you're 140 pounds then this likens to 1400 calories day by day. A successful diet plan should contain high protein diet, protein is useful in the matter of weight reduction in light of the fact that it is hard to process.
Avatar n tn I started a calorie controlled diet 4weeks ago I eat no more than 1200 a day. My start weight was 181 and currently 176 I dobt feel ive lost alot of weight at all :(. I feel I have barely lost anything I watch my calories so carefully lost of fruit and veg only drink water, and walk about aan hour everyday. Is this normal I dont kbow what can I do to make my weight loss noticable.
Avatar f tn For my weight and height, I need about 1800 calories to maintain my weight. By eating 1000 calories a day, I am at a deficit of 800. That's a little more than 4 days to lose 1 pound. It's all about math. Eat healthy to get the nutrients you need, count your calories, and exercise. If you don't have it already, try the my fitness pal app; it's wonderful! Good luck!
Avatar n tn For example, you could go with 120 carb grams,15 or 20 fat grams, and 1000 or 1200 calories for minimums. You could leave your current entries for maximums (or raise some of them for people who might be trying to gain weight. You could have only certain options availablefor users to choose depending on the information users are required to enter that would indicate whether they are trying to lose or gain weight.
Avatar f tn I'm not familiar with a specific "Lean Cuisine" diet; only with their products in the grocery store. Does the diet require that you eat their food? I've tried some of their frozen dinners and mostly don't care for the taste. I'm not big on recommending "quick" weight loss methods, as I don't feel that's a healthy way to lose weight. I certainly don't recommend that you go that low on calories.
Avatar f tn No, you should not have to be hungry all the time while dieting. I agree with tamaroo, young teens are still growing and developing and it's necessary to get enough calories and nutrients to develop properly and be healthy. You can't just pick a number of calories to eat every day. Your body has to have so many calories every day, just to stay alive, depending on your current size. You need to figure out how many calories/day you need.
Avatar n tn I agree with Ducky. I think your calories are pretty low. Try adding a protein shake or something and you could increase your weight training - building muscle buns more calories than the treadmill. Good luck!! Don't get discouraged.
Avatar n tn If you want to track your calories then you need to find a calorie counter book or u can find it as an app for smartphones/tablets. It lists foods and calories &/or fat grams for each. 1200 cal diet is strict and may not be right for your body type so check with ur doctor beforehand.
Avatar f tn I need help with a low fat, low carb diet. I apologize I did not put this in my first post....but am new at this and did not really think of all that you added, but you are right. I'm looking for general help, so that I can to shop & also learn to eat healthier. As I feel it's never too late to learn, and our bodies can heal as long as we give it what it needs. *1200 Calories (Low cal/ low carb) diet *Meals are hard, as I don't know the do's and the don't(s).
Avatar f tn I am diabetic and need to lose a lot of weight. I am eating healthy, about 1200 - 1300 calories per day Exercising. But I am gaining weight. My diet is approximately 50% carbs/ 20%fats//30% proteins. Frustrated. Advice??
Avatar f tn Well I have been on this diet for 14 days where I eat about 800 calories per day, all good stuff - vegs, boiled egg, some fruit, tofu, rice cakes, ryvita crackers, no sodas, no junk. I have also taken up aerobic and weight exercise 4-5 times for 1 hour. I have lost maybe 3 or 4 lbs at the most - I usually consume about1800 calories per day. Why have I not lost more weight?
Avatar n tn You need to go to a dietician and plan a neat diet chart. If you want to lose weight plan a diet chart of around 1800 calories per day and lose around 300-500 calories per day in a sustained and continuous way. Over a period of time you will lose and do not consume fats, junk food, fast foods, sweets, desserts, ice creams, deep fries, fatty meats etc. Take care!
