Diabetic diet plan with about 1200 calories

Common Questions and Answers about Diabetic diet plan with about 1200 calories

Avatar n tn For me I am tracking both macros and also have a target daily calories of about 1400 calories. In my case my macro targets are 5% carbs (20g), 15% protein (60g) and 80% fats. A small scale is useful for weighing foods. Read labels. Focus on eating unprocessed foods. As a general guideline when eating low carb the easiest way is to cut out all grains and added sugars. No sweetened foods either. Fruits will be limited to small portions of low carb fruits such as berries.
Avatar n tn hey thanks for the diet my mom isnt to thrilled about it im not sure if shes gonna do it but anyway i need to get my test levels back to normal so i need to take it but its not for weight loss.
Avatar f tn 500 Cal diet with HCG/Simeon Plan. This is my 7th day on the HCG/Simeon diet so I figured it would be a good time to compare them (since I made it 1 week on the non-HCG plan). I have felt very well the entire 7 days, no hunger pangs until the end of the day when I took no shot (yesterday). I am not miserable like I was on the diet w/out HCG. I have lost 5 lbs (net), even with the 2 loading days, and I'm pretty excited about how this is going.
Avatar n tn That would increase weight loss and re-train your metabolism! You will slowly deteriorate your body with these diet pills and barely any calories, please read up. and eat 300-400 calories before a wild workout!! that weight your losing fast is water ad muscle, I would want to stick to a healthy plan instead, we have all learned fast weight loss is not realistic and makes you feel herrendous and puts you at risk in many health aspects.
Avatar f tn Don't believe the hype and cheating some of these people are talking about, at least in the 500 calorie part of the diet. Once you are done with 34lbs or 40 shots, whichever comes first, then for three weeks you switch to a no carb no starch no sugar diet, basically you'll be doing Atkins for the next 3 weeks. Remember though, once the shots stop, you need to do the 500 cal for 3 more days to let it get out of your system, then eat the Atkins way.
921323 tn?1268679412 But as a result of this visual similarity, I’ve found that a good number of the posted comments were written in defense of this “miracle” diet, which combines supplementation with a hormone first detected in the urine of pregnant women (yep) and...a daily 500 calorie restriction. So I thought it was a good idea to readdress the issue, with a renewed focus on HCG this time. Drum roll please... I think the HCG Diet is a bad idea for at least three reasons.
649848 tn?1534637300 Well, here I am again - for anyone who read my other journal, you know that I've gone on a "mission" to get my life cleared out and uncluttered. Anyway, after reading the book by Geneen Roth that I mentioned in my other journal post (I actually read the book 3 times and am currently on my 4th round), I decided that nothing I had tried so far was working for weight loss, so I would try her concept of losing weight by “NOT dieting”.
231441 tn?1333896366 was actually only getting about 800 calories a day. No woman should ever eat less than 1200 calories a day, and that should be increased to allow for exercise! No wonder she was weak and sick and had to stop exercising. Here is an interesting (and useful) website for pregnancy nutrition. Brewer's Pregnancy Diet. http://home.mindspring.com/~djsnjones/id96.html I much more agree with this site about the importance of very good nutrition over extreme calorie restriction. Disgusted!
Avatar f tn You do have to pay attention you the calories you eat... If you eat too few, your body will start holding onto existing fat stores, because there isn't enough food coming in. As boz said you do have to cut back on calories to lose weight, you just can't cut too many. An adult female should not take in less than 1200 calories/day.
231441 tn?1333896366 It's only six pm and and I've already exceeded my 1900 calories allowed for the day by 300. They've told me I should stick with this diet plan very strictly. Maybe this is a result of sticking to the cals yesterday and doing a 3-hr bike ride (est at 1200-1500 cals).
Avatar n tn I followed a very strict diet, got rid of a lot of processed foods and candy, sugar. It was about 1200 calories a day. I did manage to get down to 150 and was able to wear a size 10. As long as i kept up the diet most of the time and stayed active i could stay there. I was actually then unhappy with all the work I was doing, why I wasnt a size 5 or 7. I was only 37 not middle aged after all LOL We moved and I went to a new family doctor not an endo just a general practitioner.
Avatar m tn I have been on a 1200 calorie diet with a complete log of everything that went into my mouth because I felt like when people looked at me they were like "yeah right". I have gained so much weight and continued to gain with no end, I have been to several doctors and then finally my doc sends me to a endocrinologist for possible cushing and A1c levels which increased which I hear puts me in the diabetic category.I have the victoza meds and am supposed to start the low dose tomorrow.
393685 tn?1425816122 I have been struggling with hair loss and weight problems. I love this forum as it brings so much knowledge about different things. Hope everything goes back to normal. I dont even want to be seen outside my home, I feel like everyone is looking at me. My husband is very supportive, but I just feel that he would not want to be with someone struggling with hair loss. I dunno. Hopefully my hair grows back where it has thinned out. Thanks for putting this ? out there.

Avatar m tn Have any of you ever had a mfERG this would diagnose if this is actually a retina or optic nerve problem? Ask your opthalmologist about it. I was misdiagnosed with optic neuritis for 9 months. I don't notice my flashing lights all the time, different light levels either show it as light like a moving fan or black like writhing snakes.
733939 tn?1231776955 How long does it take for the metformin er to take affect where you see the numbers drop followed with a diet....im so new to this and finding hundreds of things on the net....and also what is the danger zone numbers before you get put on insulin.
Avatar n tn hello all, Gotta agree with you Danishcat, cuz I read about the book "The Thyroid Diet" by Mary Shomon and went and got a copy...sure enough when following her card sensetive plan 4 days ago I have already lost a 1lb. and feel better (a bit more energy. I am not hungry at all on her plan and it makes good "body" sense...its the first sign of HOPE SINCE THYROID I have had....you all should try it!
649848 tn?1534637300 Why did you decide on a 1200 calorie diet? Cutting too many calories can wreck weight loss. It can also be dangerous. I suggest going back on the 1800 calorie diet. You will still lose weight, but you'll also be healthier, happier, and probably better able to maintain this diet in the long run. If you feel the need for self-punishment, then lower it by 100 calories a day, but don't go below that. Otherwise, everything else about carbs is true, but not all carbs are bad.
649848 tn?1534637300 What they tell me ranges anywhere from 1200 calories/day to 2466 calories/day. I am a 59 yr old, female, 5' tall, 144 lbs, moderately active (walk 2-3 mi/day, work out at least 30 min/day, yoga, etc), hypothyroid, vitamin B-12 deficient. I am trying to lose about 30 lbs - and having no luck. If I weight a pound less today, I'll weigh 2 pounds more tomorrow. Have been trying to keep calories < 1200/day, but maybe that's too many?
Avatar f tn I still eat things I like, but smaller portions more often. 1200 calories is not very many calories.
Avatar n tn For the last two months, I have been eating 5 times a day (about 1000-1200 calories) Each meal has protein and carbs and I get my 5 a day fruits and veggies. I do cardio 5 days a week (3 days are interval training for 45 min--60 seconds at 65% target heart rate and 60 second 85% target heeart rate) The other 2 days of cardio are a 45 minute dance class and then a weekend long distance run that lasts between 1-2 hours. I also weight train 3 days a week.
Avatar n tn I worked out real hard at the gym and felt good. I am doing this with a 1000-1200 calorie diet and burning at least 580 in exercise. I'll keep everyone posted of my results. My starting weight is 185 lbs.
Avatar f tn I went to a homeopathic nutrition specialist out of desperation figuring that it couldnt possibly make me worse off than I was and I started an eating plan that basically followed a low glycemic diabetic eating plan. He explained that in some instances our bodies become lazy and do not process the insulin our food provides in the best way and sometimes becomes a vessel to store the insulin which eventually becomes fat.
649848 tn?1534637300 It's was a 17 for years. Another good diet plan is the schwarzbein Principle written by a doctor for her diabetic patients. It's a reduced carb plan.
Avatar f tn She exercised moderately (walks and such) and in normal life her eating would not have constituted a diet at all...she brought in enough calories. Her son is now 11, totally healthy and when born was 8 lbs. So when you are starting off heavier (as I am) the weight gain rules are just different and the norms are different. When you're tiny (say 110lbs) eating healthy for two (say 2,500 calories) may put alot of weight on because they're used to eating 1200/day.
1498386 tn?1403031253 Yes, I have a PCOS weight loss success story. ...Just not with Metformin. I was diagnosed about 20 years ago, or so. The only symptom I had was the inovulatory dysfunction. I weighed 97lbs from age 16 to age 30 or so. In my 30s, I went up to 110lbs, but that was good. Then, boom, around age 40, my periods became regular, but I started packing on the weight. By my mid-40s, I was over 160lbs! Diet & exercise didn't work. In fact, I often gained weight with caloric restriction...
Avatar n tn I have friends who have used hcg for weight loss and yes it helped tremedously but i have some interesting facts you all would want to here about. My friend did the simione diet (HCG along with the 500 calorie per day). He was losing the one pound per day like it stated.
Avatar n tn If you are really serious about traveling I suggest you gather a couple of people who are willing to go on this diet with you. Then you can all travel together down to Mexico and try any weight doctor, diet clinic or buy it yourself pharmacy. The B-12 shots cost $12.99x4,HCG varies with the clinics......a month supply usually costs $150 with app. suppresants & phetermine. They should provide you with a prescription on what it is for so you can cross it back into the U.S.
