Your endo should have a diabetic educator or dietician available to help you create and maintain that diet. Does that help?

Healthy breakfast, light snack (like yogurt and fruit), lunch, light snack, dinner, light snack (if you are still hungry). Trust me it is much easier to manage your weirght and keep track of what you eat this way. And you are not talking to a skinny girl here, I struggle to keep my weight in check.
Avatar f tn Consequently I've lost eight pounds I saw my doctor for the first time yesterday since having diabetic symptoms and was diagnosed with diabetes. (Surprise! LOL) She said she wanted to start meds slowly, so put me on 500mg metformin and 100mg Januvia and gave me an 1800 calorie diet. And she told me that if my blood sugar should end up over 400 and I was feeling really bad, to go to the emergency room.
Avatar m tn Are you not allowed to eat any of the lower sugar type fruits for lunch, because I noticed that was absent in your lunch menu. Stress increases your cortisol level and fat might tend to gather at the middle with that increase. Stress can stimulate appetite. If at all possible, I'd recommend as one high anxiety person to another, please think about if it is at possible to give up the highest stressor job to one of the many unemployed!

My diet is 30carbs for breakfast 15 carbs for am snack 60 carbs for lunch 15 carbs for afternoon snack 60 carbs for dinner and 30 carbs for bed time snack. I have to test my blood 1 hour after every meal. The doctor said sometimes they have to change the diet the farther along you get (I am 30 weeks), but so far it is working well fir me.
Avatar f tn I have a good breakfast, usually cereal and fruit, a snack, try to have something like grilled cheese and veggies for lunch, and have protein, veggies and a little bit of starch at dinner. I allow myself ice cream for desert during pregnancy as well. I have no set exercise regime. I walk my daughter up and down our driveway to the bus every morning and afternoon and take leisurely weekend hikes with the family. I try to get to the mall if it's not nice out and walk around with my toddler.

649848 tn?1534637300 i had no money to buy my lunch (i guess which is good, since i have been bringing my lunch anyway) but i also had no food to take for my lunch either. :/ So when i got to work i was really hungry and spurgerd when my boss brought in a box of krispy kream donuts. i was working a 10 1/2 hour shift so half way through, i started feeling light headed from not eating, being diabetic i am supposed to eat every 4 hours. So my boss and coworkers force fed me another donut.
224988 tn?1208108297 You can do, grilled chicken for lunch or dinner, salads for either meal, Mini subs should only be for lunch (i don't eat carbs for dinner!) and eat lots of yogurt! I eat the Yoplait light! it really taste great, and it's great for you while on this program! Please try to eat a menu some what like this one!! As long as you get 1200 cal.s (healthy cals....not junk-or fries) and at least 50g of protein, then your body will lose and you won't end up in the ER!!

I avoid nuts too...I know it seems so limited...but it is worth it...avoiding substances that might potentially inflame my insides or be confused with thryoid tissue and cause a hashimoto attack...no thanks.
649848 tn?1534637300 The hospital said I need to watch my carbs, for breakfast they said to eat 2 to 3 net carbs, lunch 3 to 4 net carbs, and dinner is 4 to 5 net carbs. each net carb is around 15 carbs. so if it has 30 carbs in it, that means its 2 net carbs. I hope that makes sense. anyway. in doing this i have lost 20 lbs. So i am here for support.
Avatar n tn But I eat every 2 hours, somthing small and a big lunch and a good size dinner. Been drinking only water, and so far I have lost 15lbs in 2 weeks. Cylaris curves my hunger and I have not even wanted anything sweet witch is very unusual. I would recommend anyone who is serious and willing to cut back on calories to try it because it will help.
Avatar n tn for two years, and from the beginning, he hasn't lost ANY weight! And his doctor had him taking 1000mg AM, and PM. He is diabetic. I think you changing what you're eating, the amount you eat, and walking more often is the reasons why you loose weight! And also, it is VERY, VERY unhealthy to loose 19LBS in 1 week! If that's what is happening you should eat more Cal's! I've never meet a doctor who would be OK with ANYONE losing that much so fast!

Avatar n tn Well for breakfast i have 1 piece of fruit (banana, apple, etc) no starches, no sugar, a lean cusine for lunch and a salad and 1 meat for dinner. Plus I walk everyday for at least 30 min. I'm also on some appetite suppresents named adipex. I'm in Georgia and the doctor that I go to in Dr. JT Cooper. He has a website. When I find out what it is I will be sure to let you know. I know one girl that sees him and lost 75 pds in 4 months. He really helps.
Avatar n tn Meat and salads for lunch and meat/veggie for dinner, but just not too much. I also drank beer Wednesday night and have still lost the 3 pounds, imagine if I hadn't! I do believe the working out is an essential part of the process because the bottom line is that you have to burn more calories than you take in, period. My heartburn is gone, and I'm feeling good. Maybe I'll be in that bikini by summer time, YEAH!!! Don't give up guys, keep up the good work.
Avatar f tn Also try taking it before you eat lunch or dinner, when you get that weak, shaky, hungry feeling and see what your level is, but keep in mind, you can't go by single readings; you have to establish a trend... you can also track post prandial readings, which are those 1-2 hrs after eating (I'd wait 2 hrs vs 1).

I paid extra for the quicker shipping but I was really surprised at how fast I got it. I plan on taking my measurements before hand and keeping a journal. I am really excited. Avatar n tn I started having whey protein for breakfast and lunch. I had to read a lot of labels to find one low in fat and carbs. Right now I am using Optimum Nutrition (ON) 100% Whey Protein shake mix. There are 120 calories, 1 gram of fat, 3 carbs, and 24 grams of protein in one scoop. So for breakfast, I have one and a half scoops. I started off mixing it with Hood's Calorie Countdown low carb milk but it goes back in 7 days so I just switched to water and drinking it like a hot chocolate.

I think I have more to lose than any one else here. I started at 287 and I am 5'5'. I would like to be back at 135-150. Just to be <200 will be wonerful! My weight loss has been all over. Not just one area. Hopefully when I start injections the loss will be in the problem areas. Mainly my stomach.

For dinner I usually have 90 to 100 grams of chicken and a hand full of tomatoes or cucumbers. I used to eat two apples a day or two hand fulls of strawberries a day or a grapefruit. I haven't been eating my snacks like I used to though. I totally forgot the other day. Yesterday I only had half a grapefruit.
Avatar n tn As the side effects, nausea in particular set in I had to start being creative As I went along, the foods I was using, just one example full 16 ounch glass of whole milk with and with carnation instant breakfast. Now I cant stand to even think about it. These foods get scratched off the list. As Im sitting up in bed with the pills in my hand as my eyes dart back and forth to the commode, Im terrified that the dose might come right back up. Ive run out of things to eat.

Avatar n tn I usually have 1 cup of Kashi Go Lean Crunch w/2% milk and a banana or 2 eggs fried w/lo carb toast for breakfast. Lunch is usually a salad w/no dressing, just red wine vinegar (salad w/dill pickles, hard boiled egg, onion,green pepper, olives, 2 oz of cheese, and 2 oz of either chicken or ham). If not that sometimes I fry mushrooms,onions and green peppers up in olive oil and just have them. Dinner is usually 4 oz of meat (usually beef, my husband hates chicken!

I did search the Davita meal plan -- they had one for regular patients and one for diabetic patients -- but I was shocked that there was so much refined foods---even for the diabetic plan. My husband isn't diabetic but has a metabolic disorder that could lead him there if he doesn't watch his intake of sugar and processed foods. Right now I want to have him to eat plenty of vegetables and fruits with limited grains and protein.
Avatar n tn From what I have noticed, the best protocol to follow would be Dr Simeons protocol. I had friends following Trudeaus & they kept flitlining in their weight loss. I have completed one 23 day cycle with a weight loss of 28ls, had 3 weeks off & now on day 13 of my second round with an addition 14 lbs weight loss. For the non math people, thats 41 lbs in 60 days! I have stuck to the 500 calorie per day regime. Breakfast. Coffee & Stevia for sweetner.
Avatar n tn Along with the injections I was eating very much like a diabetic. Low fat, low carb and minimal sugars. While I was taking the B12 I was losing 15 - 25 lbs a month. I decided to continue eating the same and stop getting B12 injections and my weight loss slowed considerably and my energy levels decreased. I have been told there is no medical reason why B12 helps weight loss but for me it really worked well and I am about to go back on it again.
