Avatar n tn This doesn't make sense. If you have low blood sugar, you are a diabetic - hypoglycemic. Did you ask your doctor why he/she feels you have low glucose when your tests say otherwise? For a doctor to come to such a conclusion there must be something going on that's not being disclosed . Call him/her if for clarification.
Avatar f tn I am a 23 year old female who has been experiencing symptoms of low blood sugar for years. I wake up very hungry, even if I eat before bed. If I skip a meal or am late on eating (my meals are by 8am, noon, and 7pm), I feel very nauseous and light-headed. This sensation goes away almost immediately when I eat, even if it's a bite-size candy bar. I have frequent nightmares, often where I am physically/vocally animated. I wake up more than 2 times a night to use the restroom.
Avatar n tn 5 I don't know what this means except that is is low. where should you blood sugar level be? I do not have diabetes that I do know. but I exhibit sings of severe tiredness, fatigue, tingeling in my hands and feet. slurred speech, trouble froming thoughts. sweats, migrains. (I don't get these symptoms all of the time,) okay here's the kicker. I do eat right, in fact I eat often. I'm not over weight (I am 5'10" and weigh 145 I am female in case it helps).
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm new to the site and have found it extremely helpful. I have had Type I diabetes for 10 years now, and have never come across something so useful before. Keep up the great work^^ Onto my question. A couple of weeks ago, I was taken to the hospital by ambulance secondary to a "low blood sugar seizure." I have no recollection of a four hour period before I went to sleep, and then 3 hours after I was found seizing and taken to the emergency room.
Avatar n tn Well, because when your body shoots a slug of insulin into your blood after you eat lots of protein, it drives your blood sugar low. People who drink high concentration whey protein shakes (that are low in sugar and carbs) they hit a wall, because the insulinogenic effect of the high protein promotes the injection of insulin, which then dramatically reduces the few grams of glucose you have circulating in your blood, and then you feel weak, cold, shivery, etc.

Avatar m tn ok i just checked my blood sugar and it was 91, now when my blood sugar is over 110 i'm alright not feeling cold shaking and i would also get racing heart beat but once its below 110 thats when all of those start to happen but most of all my heart starts hurting and feel it beating really fast, now when it comes to night right before i go to bed it just drops below 100.
Avatar n tn My son has been diabetic for 35 years and has always had a problem with low blood sugar that comes on so rapidly that we have barely enough time to get some nourisment in him. Lately, in the past 3 months, he has had a sezure in bed around 5;00am with out any warning. This of course is very scary for his wife and son. Is there anything that can be done to help detect this coming on when a person is sound asleep?
Avatar n tn However, it's typically associated more with low blood sugar than high. Diabetes symptoms include (but are not limited to) blurred vision, increased thirst, frequent urination, and fatigue.
Avatar n tn Highly recommend that you get a home testing blood glucose meter so you can see what your blood sugar is doing and also how it is responding to what you eat. You may need to change your diet to reduce your blood sugar. It is usual to have such an initial reaction to metformin. Suggest you start off with just 1/2 or 1/4 tablet per day and then slowly increase to the recommended dose based on the resolution of your symptoms. If this doesn't work, you can ask your dr for slow release version.
759062 tn?1234258393 Too low of a blood sugar can be life threatening. And, keep a candy bar, hard candy, or orange juice within reach when you start to feel these symptoms coming on.
Avatar n tn You may also experience symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if you skip meals, which can be feeling shaky, sweating, blurry vision, and feeling cranky or "spacey". These feelings go away when you eat.
Avatar n tn I know CPR for heart stop. But what do do when extremely low blood pressure and blood sugar? Thank you.
Avatar f tn What does "getting worse" mean? Blood sugar (BG) getting higher (how high) or are symptoms getting worse? As sally said... It is carbohydrates that raise BG. rice, pasta, most fruit, breads, fruit juice, soda, potatos all have carbs and will raise BG. What meds are you on? (pickle juice is NOT a med) Some meds can raise BG does your allergy med raise BG? Google the med and see.
Avatar n tn Hi Kim, Just a quick note that sometimes I get what feels like a panic attack but it is actually low or high blood sugar which can give you heart palpitation, trembling hands, sweating, etc...so if your friend is drinking and urinating frequently with other symptoms a simple blood or urine test by a physician can rule out diabetes.
Avatar n tn I just read that Metformin can cause B12 deficency and that has the same symptoms I am having. Can a low B12 cause Neropathy and what is the B12 high and low range? I am going for a blood test.
Avatar f tn It is possible to have no symptoms of high blood sugar, but damage is occuring. For type 2 it is often possible to manage it with diet and exercise (low carb diet and plenty of exercise, plus getting to your optimal weight). However, you are still very young, so it would be a great idea to get some more monitorint for how you are doing. Let us know.
944604 tn?1283202525 Everyone with diabetes and hypoglycemia has different levels for their highs and lows mine are anything below 106 is great, 104 is lowest I can function on, anything lower then that and I feel sick, 99 and below are hypoglycemic for me.
Avatar n tn Is it possible for me to be diabetic and just expel massive amounts of sugar through my urine? Oh, I almost forgot, I can feel when my blood sugar is low, and it doesn't happen very often. I could definitely feel that it was low when the nurse pricked my finger. Do you think that I should just ignore it or what? A few other odd symptoms: I randomly will find that a toe, finger, or maybe even a whole hand will become completely cold. It is like it is not even part of my body.
Avatar n tn This level of FBS and Post prandial blood sugar will cause severe complications if it continues. If you can't control with diet (low carb works best) and oral medication, and exercise, it will be recommended to use insulin. Insulin is a powerful and very useful medication for diabetics. It is not to be feared, but you will need to learn to use it safely. Normal HBA1C is in the 4s or low 5s. 7.5 is well above normal.
873325 tn?1295465496 My almost 4 yr old daughter was diagnosed with ketotic hypoglycemia 2 years ago, so we were always keeping an eye on her low blood sugar readings. Recently I have randomly checked her and once it was 198 ( 2 hrs after breakfast) and another day it was 215 ( about an hour after eating a piece of licorice). Her doctors have checked a few different times for diabetes, but they assure me that this is not the problem. I just feel like they aren't seeing the whole picture. Any ideas?
