Avatar m tn I also experiences really itchy skin at times, not as bad as yours though. In my case, I can prevent the rashes by avoiding harsh weather, strong chemicals and strong soap. Keep your skin supple by always moisturizing with mild lotions. Being diabetic, we are prone to more infections so prevention against infection is our best defense.

Avatar n tn In short, yes. Those with diabetes and uncontrolled sugar levels ARE at high risk for rashes. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/12176-diabetes-skin-conditions Also, hormones and body heat are related. And diabetes also can have complications of blood vessel damage which can affect sweat glands. If those aren't working properly, The body can not let out the heat and cool efficiently. Have you talked to your doctor? And what is your normal sugar level? Do you monitor?
Avatar n tn As many as one third of people with diabetes will have a skin disorder caused or affected by diabetes at some time in their lives. Some of these problems are skin conditions anyone can have, but people with diabetes get more easily. These include bacterial infections, fungal infections, and itching. Yeast-like fungus can create itchy rashes of moist, red areas surrounded by tiny blisters and scales. These infections often occur in warm, moist folds of the skin.

Avatar f tn Rash in scabies is usually found in the folds of skin and they are red blister like rashes. it can be due to allergic reaction, hives or insect bites. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. If the symptoms persist then please get it examined from a dermatologist. Avatar m tn I have had rashes and dark skin on and around scrotum and inner thigh for last 5-6 years. In the beginning rashes and small cuts used to appear between inner thighs and they would heal themselves but they left dark and loose skin when they disappeared. But for last 2-3 months these rashes and cuts started appearing again in ferocious way and these have extended on testicle skins too. When they appear it itches too much results in small cuts with small blood. i m very depressed.

Avatar f tn the pimple like bumps sound like in grown hairs....I get them too and they are exactly as you describe them. Are you on any kind of Steroids....even ADVAIR? Because Steroids play a big part in not healing quickly. And finally the rashes you speak of don't sound diabetic related because normally diabetics get lesions on there skin that turn into big open sores rather than rashes.....I've never heard of a diabetic getting a rash that was related to diabetes, and I'm a diabetic myself.
Avatar n tn I too am experiencing skin problems but they started after I started taking insulin. I don't know if it's the insulin or the diabetes or other health problems that is causing that. My doctor prescribed Erythromiacin topical solution and it seems to clear the bumps up before they they come to a head and get infected. If you start getting red flakey patches I can tell you what does and doesn't work for that also.
Avatar m tn Are you 77, or is that just a random number you used for your avatar name?
