Avatar f tn I would love to hear from anyone who has found an endo in the Midwest who has taken a genuine interest in POTS and demonstrated knowledge in the types of endocrine issues we are most likely to face. The ones I have seen so far not only seemed entirely ignorant of contemporary research on endocrine-related issues in POTS in peer-reviewed medical journals but had too much ego not to be indignant if a patient tried to introduce any of this information into the mix.
Avatar f tn Here's the comment I started for you a couple days ago, and finally had time to finish. I'm a bit late to the conversation, and I see you've gotten some good info and good advice already. I'll jump in anyway. ;) I am appalled that two doctors refused to test you for Lyme Disease because 'there's no Lyme in Michigan." Wisconsin and Michigan have had thousands of cases. Pennsylvania has more Lyme cases than any other state, and it's only 2 states away.
Avatar n tn He said that the scans don't show any cause for this to be happening and it looks like it is curving in rather than the bone thinning in that area. At this point it isn't affecting my brain, so he wants me to repeat the scans in October and come back so he can see if there are any changes. Keep in touch if you find anything out about yours. and feel free to send me a message in my inbox - I have a watch on this post and my inbox and I recieve an email whenever anyone posts to it.
Avatar m tn I think this is a good time to discuss a perscription dose of Vit D for anyone fifty or over. In states such as Wisconsin, Minnesota's, the Dakotas and similar geographical locations Vit D deficiencies are even more common. The seasonal weather is not conducive for anyone to spend the daily amount of time outdoors required, especially for older adults or those with disabilities. Again thank you for the informational post.

Avatar n tn Cold legs are at the least annoying and I am sorry you are experiencing this symptom. In Wisconsin my feet are often cold. Cold extremities, especially the lower limbs are often a symptom of poor circulation. Arteriosclerosis of the extremities is a disease of the blood vessels characterized by narrowing and hardening of the arteries that supply the legs and feet. This causes a decrease in blood flow and therefore cold legs. In time arteriosclerosis can also injure nerves and other tissues.
Avatar f tn Wisconsin Chiari Center -- they're in Milwaukee. Lots of great info on their website. Great reputation. I also found highly recommended chiari centers in NY, OH, and CO, but I live outside Chicago so this one makes the most sense for me. I'm new to all of this, too but this is the most promising possibility I've uncovered yet so I'm running with it until it's ruled out by an expert. Good luck, please check out these centers, and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn He started chemo right away, after his first round of chemo, it shrunk but he had complications from the chemo, his white blood cell count was way down he got diabetes from the tumor and his sugar levels were 500 plus so they put him in the hospital. He got every side effect that you could get from chemo plus the rare ones that 1 out of probably a million would get. He was dying, but they found out that he had 2 infections in his blood. They treated him very fast and it worked.

1303966 tn?1296743610 I was tested for diabetes. I was in and out of ER, doctor offices, and hospitals Oct-Dec 09. I think I've had every test possible. Except a lumbar puncture. Apparently I can't get one because it can possibly make Chiari Malformation worse. My next step is to try and be seen by the Neuro Science Group of Wisconsin. Has anyone heard of them? I need to get better at learning to communicate with doctors. My husband says I'm too nice and I need to be more aggressive in the doctors office.

Is there anything that we can give him or anywhere we can take him to beat this thing?? Please help. My fiance says I am being selfish and belittling our Vet, but I love him so much I thought after he kicked the diabetes that we would have more time with him. Thank you for for time and consideration. Sincerely and with heavy heart.

The Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance doesn't track premium increases in the individual market. But they also may be impossible to gauge, given the state's insurance regulations. Lately I have been having frequent violent sneezing (many times a day), with intermittent running nose and itchy face and trunk.
