Avatar m tn I experience high blood sugar after doing exercise and sex, why is this happening?
Avatar n tn Pain in the upper left thigh would not be a common symptom of poorly controlled diabetes Complications of a very elevated blood sugar include: - dehydration - confusion - breathing fast - urinating a lot These can be very dangerous, and you should see your doctor right away
Avatar f tn Can someone tell me how high your blood sugar should get before you become alarmed or call the doctor? I have not been diagnosed but a few months and my doctor has not told me much of nothing. My sugar keeps going up and down, my doctor won't put me on medicine(the highest its been is 400+, the lowest 60) Thanks for your help!!!
1773108 tn?1314161667 Good Morning, I have a question about high blood sugar levels that don't seem to stabilize. My boyfriend has been struggling for years with high blood sugar. He told me this morning that his level was at 480+!!!! He says he doesn't feel any different whether it's high or low. The lowest it's been (to my knowledge) is still in the high range of 200+. He's one of those who just try to do things "naturally" so therefore is not currently taking RX meds, just natural supplements.
193177 tn?1218694001 Your medications should not be obviously cuasing your high blood sugar. But your diabetes is not under control. You are only on Lantus for blood sugar control. This is a long acting insulin. You may need to also add a short acting insulin which will allow you to adjust insulin doses based on what you eat and also to make corrections. Your entire insulin dosing may need to be reviewed and revised. Please discuss this with your doctors.
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar n tn i hae experienced weight loss due to high blood sugar because the acid from being high eats away the body fat. its sounds weird but thats what my doctor told me. also if your high alot then when you do run normal, you will feel low or not right because your so used to being high. i hope i helped alittle bit. good luck to you.
752468 tn?1237563959 If the latter, the former needs to be performed and medication prescribed. A 250 mg/dl fasting level is very high. Proper nutrition, moderate exercise, and proper weight all play a big role in controlling diabetes. If your husband doesn't cut out the junk food or stop the "bad eating habits" it will only get worse to the point of amputation. Go to the ADA web site for education about this disease. http://www.diabetes.org/home.
Avatar m tn When you say you have frequent urination, do you mean you urinate excessive amounts of urine each time or you just need to make frequent trips to the bathroom, maybe only urinating smaller amounts each time? Your blood sugars sound pretty good to me. Blood sugar in the 80's is perfect - so you were in the 70's and low 90's - it doesn't scream diabetes. And you said you are "somewhat thirsty". Another question: How long have you been in this country?
686463 tn?1249920379 I have a specialist app on Tuesday, I will meet with doctor and somebody to discuss my diet. Just great!!!!! Does anybody else have a high sugar? Please I need some help, I just dont know what to think about this. I was thinking that maybe I wasnt eating right? Im thin so I took advantage of being pregnant and I was eating whatever I wanted including a lot sweets, soda but besides that I had a lot of good stuff. Im cooking myself so no junk food, a lot veggies, fruits, dairy.
1058898 tn?1275678751 I have not been told if i have diabetes but my Dr. told me to watch my blood sugar because im having symptoms of hypo. I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137.
Avatar f tn First of all being continually over 130 for fasting blood sugar is too high. Your wife needs to have her doctor evaluate her medication regimen and see if something needs to be changed. Also I'm guessing you don't know much about diet and exercise to help control Type II diabetes and this is very important to learn. When her blood glucose goes below 60 or she feels hypoglycemic (get to know the symptoms) she needs to treat the low.
1448460 tn?1284698067 Prednisone does tend to raise your blood sugar and you should do what you can to keep it down as much as possible. You did not mention if you are on insulin or pills or just diet control. Considering you are only taking prednisone for a very short time, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. If your blood sugar is at that level for a longer period of time that may bring about some damage. Exercise more, if possible, definitely drink lots more water and really watch your diet.
Avatar n tn This would also indicate that your blood sugars after eating are already going high. You should check your blood sugars 2 hours after eating. They may be very high. Please research.
Avatar n tn Therefore, at the very least, if you keep up your current exercise regimen, you can pre-empt or prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes altogether. In addition, exercise does increase HDL levels but does nothing to reduce LDL levels. LDL levels are managed by diet; keep your saturated fats DOWN as far as possible: avoid cookies, red meat, and any other foods high in saturated fat. All this said, there is a genetic influence and correlation as far as type 2 diabetes goes.
Avatar n tn can eny one break the rest of that down I am typ2 diabetic stag 4 liver so do I have extra liver problems because sugar level some times to high?????
1058898 tn?1275678751 Your doctor is uninformed and irresponsible to be allowing your blood sugar to go so high without advising you to do anything. As Zoelula said, it is your health. It is up to you. Get yourself educated and get it under control. Else there will be consequences. This is the plain and ugly, but necessary truth!
Avatar m tn Thanks for ur response Is it very high sugar or can control with with out medicines?
Avatar f tn It could have something to do with circulation and blood flow since it is the blood that is tested for sugar level. 300 is high, you should call his doctor and discuss this with the doc.
446335 tn?1223951956 Hi davemc That is not a very high blood sugar level at all, I'm no Doctor, but my guess is, depending on other factors, that your doctor might try you first on diet and exercise changes and see how you do.
Avatar m tn There is no history of diabetes in my family and my blood sugar has always been at a good level. I don't understand why suddenly at age 59 I'm just a few points away from having this disease. I'm seeing a lipid specialist next month and hopefully with diet and exercise I can turn this around. Your doctor needs to either help you with a definite plan/goal or send you to someone who can.
Avatar n tn , I have a hypothetical question - if someone with diabetes, pre-diabetes or other sugar control issues decides to eat a large number of carbs on a daily basis but engages in moderate aerobic exercise after each high-carb meal such that the postprandial blood sugar never rises very high (eg, peaks at 100-120 and comes down immediately /rapidly with exercise), is that acceptable? Thanks!
