Avatar f tn I don't have a lot of symptoms of Lyme disease and can't even remember the last time I was outside to even get bit since I work everyday and by the time I get home, there's no time to do anything. If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate them. Like I said, I've been sick for at least 5 months now and I'm desperate.
931217 tn?1283484935 Today's popular press often extols the supposed virtues of more "natural" ways of living, and approaching illness. There are a wide variety of theories and modalities, that together make up the broad category known as "complementary and alternative medicine (and veterinary medicine)." These approaches to health and disease are not monolithic and therefore their merits or lack thereof cannot be discussed as a category. Each must be examined alone.

Avatar n tn I'm SO glad that I'm not the only one with this kind of problem, and it is in fact normal and has nothing to do with how I take care of myself. I'm afraid to go the gyno (I've never been to one) because I'm uncomfortable with the idea of showing myself to a complete stranger. It sounds ridiculous and childish I know but it's probably also because I never showed myself to anyone I know either lol.
Avatar m tn the ECTs, the medications, the occupational therapy, etc. At the age of 19 during the first manifestations of intense depression, though, I was given lots of advice from religious to common-sensical: diet, exercise, prayer, vitamins, interesting leisure distractions/interests like horse-riding, watching TV, music, et cetera. After several months to several years, 1963 to 1968, the emotional aberrations disappeared or could be said to be sub-threshold at least for a time.
Avatar f tn I also have a lot of allergies so I have trouble using the CPAP every night because I can't breath but when I can use it all night then I feel tired all day. As of 01/20/2011 triglycerides - 101, Hdl - 84, Ldl - 134. I had all of them good, total 178, until they took me off the Vytorin and didn't put me on anything for 3 months and they the total went to 299. Now I am on Pravastatin 20mg. Avatar n tn The reason is that the military services are not interested in taking people with ANY kind of pre-existing medical condition, not only because of danger in a combat situation, but also because of the costs of medical care for the rest of that person's life. I do know that if a person is diagnosed as type 1 while active duty, he or she may be able to stay active duty IF his or her job does not require combat duty. Now this is true only in some cases, and in some branches of the military.
Avatar f tn Hi All! Need some suggestions/advice. I am a 54 yr old woman who has been spotting/bleeding for the past 3 1/2 years. EVERY DAY! Only went away for 5 months 2 1/2 yrs ago, then on again. Just had an endometrial biopsy at the "clinic" (charity care), and they say I have this complex atypical endometrial hyperplasia. They are telling me I need a hysterectomy, but before I can get it I need a hysteroscopy first. Telling me it is pre-cancerous, but that 40-55% is usually cancerous.
Avatar m tn -) I see people present all this anecdotal evidence for what's wrong with US health care, none of which is based on facts. Heck our free clinics probably exceed quality standards of most other hospitals outside the US. just my $0.02. Which won't even buy you a bandaide today.

519226 tn?1378994921 No one wants to be around her because she is so nasty. She always has to put people down, and it seems she is extremely jealous of me. Recently, she said in an extremely bitter tone, that she can't stand looking at me and my 2 siblings because we look like our grandmother and father. (What do we need to get plastic surgery?) She said she doesn't trust anyone, especially her own children. She's called me a liar and crazy. She is toxic and poisonous. She hates her kids.

1947387 tn?1325644930 I was taking respiradol and ended up in the hospital because of suicidal thoughts. I also had fear of having thoughts that I didn't want to have. I have learned not to have fear of any thought. I deal with them if necessary or just realize that our minds are weird sometimes and things come up from maybe movies that we have seen or news. I believe Roosevelt said the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. It sounds like you have an understanding husband and that is a good thing.

Avatar f tn AS a person with a history of substance abuse is less likely to take their daily meds for the rest of their life and take care of the gift of life they have received because of their self-destructive behavior. If this patient has 6 months of life to live then he can to be compliant and he should be able to still get a transplant as is the case for abuse of alcohol or any other substance. I hope this is the case for Mr. Smith.

Avatar m tn I don't want to be on anything with a higher strength but its almost to the point where I can't handle the amount of pain I'm in. My job entails a lot of hard physical work, and with that I really am struggling every day.

Avatar f tn I found that throughout the treatment and to this very day, particularly with my Rhodesian Ridgeback, my dogs made me feel better even in the roughest of times. I found that taking care of them, loving on them, having them make me laugh, them loving on me, was a great ointment to the symptoms of all this treatment. I cannot say how important it was for me to have them in my life. Don't get me wrong - I love my wife and she's been a great boon to me in all ways.
