Diabetes and zoloft

Common Questions and Answers about Diabetes and zoloft

Avatar m tn If you were feeling extreme fatigue before starting Zoloft, then either the dose is not enough or the extreme fatigue is due to causes other than depression (such as anemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism etc). If this symptom started after taking Zoloft then please inform your doctor immediately. I sincerely hope you will find this information useful. Hope you feel better soon! Good Luck and take care!
1032715 tn?1315987834 This is what some doctors also call a chemical imbalance, and many have this. You will probably need medication for the rest of your life, and that's truly okay! If it were diabetes or some other illness you wouldn't think twice about taking the needed medication. I've been told that I will need mine for the rest of my life, and if this is what I have to do to be happy, and productive, so be it. You need to look at it as any other illness. I'm happy everything is going so well for you!
Avatar f tn I should mention, I went on Zoloft mainly for anxiety. So, I have been off Zoloft for two months now and am having extreme bouts of nervous energy built up inside me. I have taken a Clonazapam now for three days straight. It works alright...by knocking me out and making it hard to get out of bed in the morning. (I do however prefer this tired feeling to that of anxiety but I know it's not the answer). So my question is, should I continue back on Zoloft?
Avatar n tn who cares if you have to take a pill everyday if its safe, doctor perscribed, NON ADDICTIVE, and helps with your moods and possibly with your addiction!! If it wasn't for zoloft I would never want to stop using oxycotin but that is no way to live... I'm sure you have lost money and friends as have I!! I have SERIOUS anxiety which the zoloft helps me with but honestly its the therapy that will help us all the most!! And Xanax for an addict is a death trap....
Avatar f tn Hello all, I began .25 mg of Zoloft last Saturday (eight days ago) and am wondering if anybody else can tell me their experience with the drug. I'm both an anxious and an unhealthy person, so it's difficult for me to tell what's anxiety, what's sickness, and what's the drug. A week prior to beginning the drug, I think I had a touch of the flu, which in turn triggered more anxiety. I barely got out of bed for a week.
1867019 tn?1353471140 I need everyone's opinions on Prozac and Zoloft. My doctor said said Prozac could give me seizures...scared the s*** out of me!! Please let me know if you have taken either of these?
Avatar n tn Fourth, go see a holistic nutritionist and find out what in your diet and life is causing this, and in the meantime try drinking some aloe juice and/or taking deglycerized licorice (DGL) and see if it helps, or some peppermint oil caps. This is a digestive problem, not something that requires getting on an ssri.
Avatar f tn I've started back on Zoloft and have been taking it now for 3 maybe 4 weeks.
1051819 tn?1253835232 I was hoping someone may have experience with quitting Zoloft and could offer their experiences and perhaps some tips. Thanks again.
Avatar m tn I used zoloft for a week, and it caused me to have severe and frequent panic attacks. I couln't stop shaking my leg or grinding my teeth. It made my anxiety and agoraphobia about ten times worse. My understanding is that it causes worse anxiety in aprox. 16% of patients. It also made me feel stoned, almost like being on ectasy, but not fun. It also gave me a mild headache the entire time that i was on it. My doctor took me off it as soon as i told him my symptoms.
Avatar m tn WOW, that is a large dose of zoloft. I take 50 mg a day and at one point I was taking 10 mg a day but had to cut back because I was no longer able to focus my eyes and I was permanently stoned. I cannot imagine how you could have functioned on that dosing but obvioulsly you did. I don't thikn your dr woul dhave a problem writing another script. Sometimes with ins if you change the dosing they will cover it because they treat it as a new prescription.
Avatar f tn Remember that there is no conclusive evidence as to HOW and WHY these drugs, such as Zoloft work. Or, why they help some people and not others. Scientists do not know why they make people feel better. That is scary to me, they're not sure about their mechanism. Pay attention to the commercials.. they use a lot of "may be" or "it is believed", and so on. Another great book to read (bible-based) is "Depression: A Stubborn Darkness" by Edward Welch.
Avatar n tn Anyone living with a chronic disease such as diabetes, can be prone to anxiety, depression and mood swings. You ask if it's normal, and I would think that we all deal with one or more of these at some time in our lives. It's how we deal with it that's important. If your daughter has good blood glucose control and manages her diabetes well, she may not have as much of a problem handling such distresses.
Avatar f tn Being under that much stress and anxiety may be worse for you and the baby then the medications. In the end it is up to you and how you feel/what you feel you need.
1634196 tn?1300324814 Was on Zoloft 75mg for 10 months and it was working great, now it feels like it's at a plateau and my doctor put me on 100mg. Been on that for a week and I feel a little nervous and mildly depressed. Just wondering when it's expected to see results and is it normal to have some of the side effects that I had 10 months ago?
Avatar n tn I started back on the Zoloft and Buspar; 200mg and 20mg/twice day respectively. I was on that for two months with only modest improvement. I since have seen a new psychiatrist who put me on Wellbutrin Xl 150 for one week and felt ok, then increased to 300mg. He also increased the Buspar to 60mg a day at the same time of adding the Wellbutrin. The first couple of days I felt better but then I went down hill fast at the 300mg level and he reduced it to 150mg.
Avatar f tn I have been on Zoloft for years (on and off). I had to go back on it in January after a 6 month break. My anxiety got so bad I was having severe panic attacks. This time when I went on the Zoloft it had the opposite effect....it was more stimulating that calming for me and I'm not sure why. Neither is my doctor. I also have OCD and it increased my OCD by 10x almost immediately. I'm at 100 mg now (for almost 7 weeks) and it hasn't gotten much better. I aslo take .5 mg of lorazapam twice a day.
Avatar f tn My mom was on Zoloft for 7 years and in the last year developed a hand tremor. She was taking 100 mg. and the doc tried to increase by 50 mg. and then decided to take her off completely. So she went from 100 to 150 mgs to nothing. Talk about hell. She is on 22 mgs now and is still suffering and still has the tremor. We went to neurologist and we are going back after she gets off zoloft completely to see what to do next. It is a crime.
Avatar n tn I got off all and crashed. Doctor put me on Zoloft and Xanax. I felt AWFUL on Zoloft. Terrible flu-like symptoms going on and up and worse coming down and off. Two months AFTER being off Zoloft I continued to have withdrawal symptoms My last Zoloft dose, and I tapered down slowly, was 8-31-06. I then had to taper down and go off Xanax (last Xanax dose was yesterday, 12-14-06). Continuing headaches, twitches, flu-like symptoms. I have read that this is all withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar n tn My husband took 100mg and he didn't have this effect. However, my uncle was taking zoloft (age 56) for depression for a long time and said it stopped working, so he started on Celexa this winter. Last month, he shot himself with no warning - he did try to get in to see his psychiatrist but they couldn't squeeze him in until the next day. He didn't even wait 24hrs. He was a proud man and would not tell and never did tell anyone that he had these thoughts, so we lost him.
Avatar n tn 5 in the morning and at noon and a whole .5mg at night, Zoloft 25mg once a day, focalin 5mg in am, and clonidine 1/2 tab x 2/day and 1 full .1mg at night. He was started on the Zoloft in April of 2006 with the hopes of getting him off of the Klonopin and treating the anxiety however what happened is he became more hyper but with the smaller dose seemed to be more at ease and so was left on half the original does 25mg. We moved to another city and I have a new doctor for him.
Avatar n tn I was on 150mg of Zoloft for about 2 years. I Tried to ween off and was down to about 50mg every couple days and my anxity can back so I went back up to 100mg daily then back to 150mg daily. I have been on it now back up to 150mg for almost 2 weeks now and have not seen any change. How long should it take before it kicks in?? Or do I need to go back to Dr's and have him up it? Did I screw it up by trying to ween of and now Zoloft wont work for me anymore??
Avatar n tn check the webistes under zoloft side effects and zoloft and alcohol. I wish you both luck. My mother takes zoloft and is just fine, but my daughter was affected adversely; so be aware and informed. Dear worry a lot lots of young people develop odd fears while growing up..don't worry one day they will go away. My brittany is tortured by the fear of throwing up. I know how scarey it is for you, but you will most likely not throw up and if for some reason you did...
Avatar n tn At first my doc recommended I alternate Paxil and Zoloft (i.e. take Pazil one night, then Zoloft the next) for a week. Alternating meds didnt help my panic attacks at all so doc said "try Xanax". I researched Xanax online and saw that its horribly addictive and can cause seizures during withdrawl (ala wonderful Paxil) so I decided not to go that route. My doc then said to just completely stop Paxil and begin taking the Zoloft daily.
784382 tn?1376934640 I can tell you about MY experience with Zoloft. First, it is actually one of the the most commonly Rx'd SSRI's for anxiety and panic with a great record of success. Zoloft was the first med I ever took for my panic disorder and I'll tell you, it gave me my life back. I went from literally housebound to "back to me" in a matter of months. I am a huge Zoloft supporter.
Avatar f tn A recent study found that the number of family doctors and other non-shrinks prescribing antidepressants more than doubled between 1996 and 2007, from 4 percent to 9 percent. Studies have linked long-term antidepressant use to weight gain, diabetes, cognitive decline, and cataracts... not to mention some pretty serious withdrawal issues when you eventually do stop taking them. what's even worse than what we know about these drugs is what we don't.
Avatar m tn i was tested for diabetes, and my results were 76 1st hr 81 then 43 3rd hr, they say i have hypoglycemia ? i didnt feel any symptoms when i left.......
Avatar m tn hey i am a 21 yr old male (about 125lbs) taking 50mg zoloft a day for anxiety/depression. I like the way it makes me feel alot (although i had horrible insomnia starting out but now i sleep great). its been about 2 months.. just wondering is it safe to stay on the drug long term? Will my brain ever be happy or calm with out it after getting used to it? I've read people saying its hurt their memory... is that really true cuz my memory is great at the moment i dont wanna risk it either..

692643 tn?1372614827 While I'm not very familiar with Tegradol, I did take Zoloft for 3 years when I was in my 20's (that was a long time ago and I have since switched medications) In that 3 years I did find Zoloft to be very effective. It's a good SSRI and I experienced no weight gain at all from it. I did have some sexual side effects from the Zoloft, but being young this was probably a good thing as my sexual drive was almost "too strong" and the Zoloft made it normal like most people.
