535822 tn?1443980380 Does it just taste good or is this used as medicine. I never heard of bannock, but sounds similar to what we call bisquits.
Avatar f tn {my mom said i was most likely a preemie because before me and my brother she had surgery suppose to be on ovaries and they messed up and did something else to uterus and she was told she never be able to carry full term} The only thing i had wrong with me was a heart murmur that went away and breathing issues in which my parents had to bring a machine home for awhile to help me breathe and learn CPR, i was hospitalized for almost 6 months. i also needed blood transfusions as infant.
Avatar m tn The heart has reduced capacity to respond to demands made on it and when you are making too many demands it will let you know - usually through angina symptoms. The good news is that by exercising aerobically for at least 5 half our sessions per week, the heart (which is just a big muscle) can be strengthened to help compensate for the damaged area. The beauty of the programme is the combination of the three disciplines.
Avatar n tn A year ago I was diagnosed with hypertension and prescribed blood pressure medication and while my blood sugars were on the high side, I did not have diabetes. Recently, I had my gall bladder removed and the surgeon indicated he saw severe cirrosis of the liver and took 5 samples of for pathological testing. The report stated that the samples were benign so my family physician felt perhaps the surgeon saw more of a fatty liver.
Avatar n tn I hope my experience will be of some value to you. I am 52 yrs. old now. I had asthma as a child which I largely outgrew. At 21 I began to run and then at 24 took up mountaineering and trained very vigorously. I would run up trails at considerable elevation with 20 or more pounds on my back etc. At that time I was 5'9" and 165. I continued backpacking, running, climbing, cross country skiing etc. until about age 35.
Avatar n tn I have slept every night for a week now and to fellow sufferers this would be a godsend.I am in the uk but expect you have tramadol in the US.Hope this will help some of you.I am keeping my fingers crossed in the meantime.
Avatar n tn I am meeting with a Neurosurgeon sometime, you know how it is the make the appointment and then call you and tell you where and when to be. I was finally let go by the cardiologist and told to take up Yoga. I told him I have practiced Yoga for 2 years and also some other things. I did not leave on very good terms with him. I am so tired of no one getting down to the problem of the cyst. The Neurologist just wants to monitor is every 6 months to see if there is a change.
Avatar f tn It could be due to compression of the spinal nerves at the cervical spine level or, ulnar nerve at the elbow level. Hypothyroidism, diabetes, tumors and infections of the ulnar and spinal nerves and rheumatism can all cause numbness of little and ring finger. Very cold climate, peripheral vascular disease (ruled out by duplex ultrasound and dopplar studies), panic disorder, leprosy, and alcoholic neuropathy are the other causes. Hope these tips help.
Avatar f tn Better is the color of your urine, clear being more hydrated and a darker yellow being less hydrated. Problem here is that what you eat and drink, and esp some drugs and vitamins can sometimes darken the color of urine even when you're hydrated. I believe doctors can tell with urine dip sticks that you can also purchase but not sure on that. You'll find out soon enough whether or not you can tolerate coffee on treatment.
Avatar f tn I've read the research on LDN and what I like about this therapy is that there are virtually no side effects because of the very low dosage. Let me know what you think. I hope you don't feel that I'm bombarding you with info. Take care and please post anytime.
Avatar f tn Remember though that you've had minor surgery on a part of your body where nerves have been upset, and like every surgery, you have to let the body heal itself. All of a sudden you will wake up and realize that you have a tiny little bit more sensation than you did the day before, and then the next week it will feel like a tiny bit more has come back, and so on and so on. It takes time but the body is a very complex machine. Remember.....the itchy crawly feeling is a good sign!
10506901 tn?1431354357 And the rest, either they don't follow up or I just don't hear form them again So to totally rule out low thyroid function, ask and insist for Free T3 (ft3), Free T4 (ft4) and Reverse T3 (rt3) You need all 3 and I'm not sure if OHIP covers the rt3. You may have to pay extra. You can test TSH as much as you want, but when the "normal" levels of circulating thyroid hormones in the serum are not biologically active in the cells, your thyroid function is LOW!
4274823 tn?1388532698 I say that because while I have Graves', I highly doubt it's from fluoride-I have type 1 diabetes, and auto-immune diseases can go hand in hand, and I had signs of something up with my pancreas long before I ever did the fluoride rinse. I also grew up on well water because I grew up in very rural areas. As for other classmates, I only know of one other who has a thyroid problem that she was actually born with, and very, very few people have gotten any terrible diseases.
Avatar n tn It may be late but I think that at this stage the only things you can do to help are to keep him nice and warm and to give comfort and love. I'm sure dogs, like humans, can hear you even when they don't seem to be responding so just talk to him, tell him how wonderful he is and thank him for the 16years of devotion. Eventually you have to make a decision whether his quality of life is good enough and, if you feel it isn't, then you have to let him go with dignity.
287900 tn?1218647818 she did say that HG was up to 109- so that is good, and after bllod this coming monday i can dro pto blood every three weeks. yay! :)?
Avatar m tn Food Nutrient Tied to Risky Blood Clotting A nutrient in meat and eggs may conspire with gut bacteria to make the blood more prone to clotting, a small study suggests. The nutrient is called choline. Researchers found that when they gave 18 healthy volunteers choline supplements, it boosted their production of a chemical called TMAO. That, in turn, increased their blood cells' tendency to clot.
Avatar m tn Protein dulls hunger and can help prevent obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. How much do you need? Step on a scale and be honest with yourself about your workout regimen. According to Mark Tarnopolsky, M.D., Ph.D., who studies exercise and nutrition at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, highly trained athletes thrive on 0.77 gram of daily protein per pound of body weight. That's 139 grams for a 180-pound man. Men who work out 5 or more days a week for an hour or longer need 0.
Avatar f tn He’s addicted to crystal meth, and has type two diabetes. He isn’t taking care of his diabetes, and is not doing well health wise at all. We all suspect he will die with in a month or two. He refuses treatment. He is currently living with his mom and dad.His dad was just diagnosed with cancer and his mom has Alzheimer’s and her condition is getting worse very quickly so we’ve decided to move them closer to family so they’re taken care of properly.

282804 tn?1236837191 I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to know more about our health care system. I read a lot of news from around the world and I try to stay on top of what is happening in places like Zimbabwe, Dafur, and Pakistan, and we get a lot of propaganda from our govt about those countries and others, but sometimes I wonder if the propaganda our gov't feeds us is a way to control us with disinformation.
Avatar f tn I am also concerned that due to his advanced age and diabetes he would have a rough time recovering from any invasive treatment and this could reduce his quality of life. Sancho has not exhibited any signs of being unwell... he is eating well, has not lost any weight, and is just being his usual lazy self. My questions are: 1. Does anyone know of any univeristies or centers in Quebec or Ontario where veterinary students can run diagnostics/ surgery at lower costs? 2.
Avatar n tn Have you been able find out the realy reason. Please do let me know.
Avatar f tn All of you suggested the drink test, and didn't like the way my doctor did the eat lunch and then test.... Well I thought about it a lot and decided to check around. I called our local Diabetes Association and they forwarded me to the General Hospital. Apparently we have Diabetes Educators and nutritionist there. I talked with them on the phone since they know everything about Diabetes. They are aware of some doctors doing food test instead of drink tests.
Avatar n tn As a side note on your diabetes, you should consider having GAD, ICA and IAA antibody tests done. You may have latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA). Your description seems almost classic for LADA, especially your C-peptide levels. Ask your doc about LADA or type 1.5 diabetes.
Avatar n tn I displayed this information on another medical website where three doctors reply, and all three said the same thing as you! Juvenile diabetes! It is not hereditary though. Not this one type that is. I am taking him to the doctor this coming Tuesday. I'll keep you posted on the results. Thanks a bunch for your comment!
