Avatar n tn Something about how they make you ovulate more. This is the tribe in africa and the women eat yams every day. They have the higest concentration of twins in this village out of anywhere else in the world. The dr's contribute the twin factor to the yams. Good luck!
Avatar f tn To lose weight we have to stay away from bread - so I suggest eating bread at every meal. You still need to eat vegetables and protein. Thinking potatoes and yams with butter. Also sugar makes you fat - so eat a dessert after supper. And some vanilla ice cream about an hour before bed should help you sleep and gain weight too. It's not necessary to eat fast food to gain weight - better to eat the right foods and gain slowly.

The term Bioidentical Hormones is not a medical term, it is a marketing term used to imply an exact copy of the hormones produced in the body.

Avatar n tn Keep your starches to a minimum. Like corn, noodles, hominy, white rice and yams. And...belive it or not...Maitake mushrooms are benificial for helping the body adapt to stress. I know this is a lot and change is sometimes difficult but it's worth a try! You are worth a try! One week ago, I could barely walk or talk and I constantly thought about the next attack. Now I'm heading outside to my garden, I'm smiling and life is great! I'm finally crying tears.... of JOY!
Avatar n tn The foul, sulfuric rotten egg/bad red wine burps and flatulence (and diarrhea) are mortifying. I have studied the entire human body (in my profession), and have close friendships with several internists. However, I have no health insurance. Based on what I've studied and have been told, the most likely culprits are gastroparesis (very slow emptying of the stomach) OR gall bladder disease.
Avatar f tn Low magnesium is associated with having diabetes but the symptoms of magnesium deficiency may include muscle spasms and weakness but not really muscle aches. As WaveRider says, before you take supplements, ask your doctor to check to see if you really need them. Taking something you may not need may cause problems. The muscle aches may be caused by poor diet. If your protein intake is too low, your body uses muscle as energy.
3097131 tn?1357088481 I bought a called "eat to beat diabetes", and I also bought the Mayo Clinics "The hepatitis c cookbook", they both are great sources for things to eat with hepatitis c , and even though the first book says diabetes, the same rules apply for Hepatitis C, and I agree with the hawk, most of us on running low on vitamin D, other then that good Info.

She has to go off of it for a week each time she gets pancreatitis. Julie is not great by any means. She still has excessive thirst, ravenous appetite, a pot belly yet much smaller, excellive urination...outside, thank God. She breathes hard at times...not always. She gets lethargic at times & I call her to get her back to earth.
956931 tn?1271639769 Keep in mind that things like white bread, most pasta, potatoes, things like that tend to elevate blood sugar quickly. In place of those, consider whole grains and sweet potatoes/yams. And of course, sugar and hidden sugar/corns syrups etc. Fasting sugar should be 125 mg/dL. Non of these values mean much with one test, but if repeated tests show problems, it’s time to address this. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2003; it’s not something you want to deal with if it can be avoided.
Avatar m tn It appears that yams have a lower Glycemic Load than sweet potatoes, and sweet potatoes have much lower Glycemic Load than white potatoes. That’s good news, I prefer yams and sweet potatoes to white potatoes. Also, supposedly the way in which a potato is cooked affects the Glycemic Load. A baked potato has almost twice the Glycemic Load of a boiled potato. Regarding pasta, it looks like this is a case where the “browns” are better than the “whites”.
Avatar m tn The wife informed me her husband had been ignoring his diabetes and his medication since day one. He just didn't believe diabetes was a serious illness. That was four months ago. Last week he ended up in the hospital for acute pancreatitis. Was it life threatening? You betcha! All because he ignored the warning and continued to eat the candy, the cookies, the cakes, the ice cream (big lover), the pies, and so on. Will this happen to you?
Avatar n tn Check with you doctor and see if you can be set up with a nutritionist or a diabetes clinic that can help you figure out the best step to take. Check out the Canada Food guide and follow it. Remember the more work that your body has to do to break down the food you eat the better. Whole grains are the best and whole foods are the best. I applaud you for trying to make a difference in your life. The Diabetes Assoc of Canada also has a lot of information that might help you on there website.

Avatar m tn You can get fungal/yeast infections from sexual contact, from other contacts (eg you can get fungal infections in the feet in between the toes from swimming pool areas), when your diet is poor with lots of sugar products, people who have increased sugar levels in their body from glucose intolerance or diabetes, people who are immune compromised and also using antibiotics can also encourage yeast overgrowth.
Avatar f tn Do you ever feel palpitations or fluttering in the heart area? You can eat yams they have higher level of potassium and drink enough water. Have you ever had your iron tested? It sounds like you are possibly anemic. Was your hemoglobin low too? What about your RDW was it high? That would indicate possible iron deficiency anemia or some other things . Avatar f tn So I looked for him everywhere I went and found him at the bar again, I stared at him ALL night, and I don't normally do that I'm very old fashioned, you know, guy asks the girl out, guy calls the girl, guy makes the first move....so I went outside to smoke, and he came out after, we talked for a few minutes and then he asked for my number, we talked every day after that. A couple weeks later I stayed at a hotel with my friend and he stayed at the same hotel with his friend.

Avatar n tn Hi, I found out I have diabetes 2, and started metformin, had chest pains, spaced out, cloudy thinking, fog, started lexapro, felt more depressed. still fog for the last 2 years, and still never goes away. Did a spit test, first thing in the morning, sure enough shows candida. Showed it to my Dr. and she said, not a relable site. Feel like going to a homepathy (sp)? Everyone tells me it's anxiety, or just my personality, but could it be something else?? Sometimes by brain feels like yeast.
Avatar n tn So I started to think maybe garlic or onions were the factor that would prevent my tummy from rebelling and so far that has worked. The symptoms are basically evil burps and tummy pain, no diahrehha ever has come with it yet. There were some articles that said it might be because of water that has been contaminated, where other sites support my gluten allergy theory.
