Avatar n tn I have been getting sinus infections for about 3.5 years now and they're only getting worse. My CT scan was negative for chronic sinusitis but showed a slight deviated septum with a bone spur. The congestion was not in my sinuses but rather in my upper nasal cavity. My nose isn't realIy runny but I get a ton of post nasal drip that makes me feel as though I am drowning. I got allergy testing done and I am not allergic to anything.
Avatar m tn I get like this from time to time. After many scans found out I do have a slight bone spur and deviated nasal septum-means its crooked- but, alas it does not STAY blocked up because I alternate out of each side blowing junk out of it and my ENT actually said if it were 100% blocked I'd never breath out of the side thats blocked not blow a bunch of stuff out and then (temporarily) feel better. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn Wow same with just had septoplasty done i had a deviated septium and bone spur and polyps and narrowing of passages snd enlarge turbinites. And so i had the surgery done. You thinking having all that fixed id be better nope i think it brought my allergys to surface and thier constant we both need help i think .
Avatar m tn ve had chronic nose, mouth and throat problems for over 3 years!! ENT docs cannot find a reason. I do have a deviated septum and spur in my left nostril (not the cause of my other symptoms). Anyway, I can't use nasal sprays as I get nose bleeds. What I found myself in the pharmacy was NeilMed NasoGel. I've been using this and it does help a lot to clear up some of the stuffiness and helps to keep my nasal passages moist.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the reply, the ENT Doc. tells me I have level 3 allergies with a deviated septum and a nasal bone spur - he thinks the allergies are causing the dizziness and that the inflammation from the allergies around the bone spur was causing the headaches. He's giving me allergies drops and the headaches are gone - the dizziness has improved. The tests I would like them to do is heavy metals and Lyme.

Avatar f tn I have no idea what it could be. Tumor? Nasal spur? Cyst? It’s hard like bone and it doesn’t seem like it moves when I press down on it. I don’t think it’s very painful but it’s causing pain all around my nostril and causing issues because it’s pressing down on parts of my nose. I have a deviated septum but I can’t recall any recent injuries to my nose. However, I did smack my front teeth about two months ago but I doubt that is relevant?
1165248 tn?1263458236 My results of CT was : Right septum Deviation and Spur..Left : 5mm retention cyst and frontal sinus is underdeveloped..Mild maxillary sinus focal mucosal thickening bilateral both sides and the floor and roof as well. So I guess what happens usually, and do many people have this many things at once.? My Dr. app. next week curious now I do my own research a lot of medical issues and surgeries..
Avatar f tn The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe. Well he did make it easier to breathe out of the clogged side, but he moved the septum too far and now I cannot breathe out of what was my "good" side. My headaches are worse than they were before the surgery.
Avatar n tn s done so many times before) and this time he said it appeared that my septum was deviated, obstructing my left nostril, and there was a nasal spur on the right side obstructing that side. Is this a probably cause? Could the CT scan have been misread and why wouldn't this have been noticed before? Would getting my deviated septum fixed relieve any or all of my symptoms? Thank you so much for your time and answers!
Avatar f tn Hey all, I'm getting slightly concerned about a lump on my nose. It's on the right side along the bridge. It's a few mm in size, but obviously on the nose it stands out a bit. Background information. I'm 27, Male, ex smoker. I have chronic sinusitis and a deviated septum, these will be operated on within the next couple of months so hopefully I'll be able to breathe again.
Avatar m tn Wendy, do you know that the 18th century disease Rickets is making a comeback? Rickets can weaken bones and make them become distorted. That's been mainly in children, though. The cause is malnutrition and also lack of sunlight, such as in cities. There is also a rare genetic version. I saw your other post where you say that you are eating and drinking a lot more now. Maybe you weren't getting enough nutrition previously?
Avatar m tn I've been diagnost with a deviated septum and excercised induced astma and was wondering if any one had septum fixed? Would it help with sinus infections and breathing for asthma? Any deviated septum repair stories out there?
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, the most common cause for sinusitis is Deviated nasal septum (DNS). This condition leads to obstruction and breathing difficulty. This can lead to sinus infection, ear infection and headaches. Other possibilities are laryngeal web, asthma, any structural abnormalities in the nasal passage such as nasal polyps, hypertrophied turbinates etc. You need to undergo detailed examination of nose and radiography of the sinuses to rule out existing sinusitis.
Avatar m tn Accidentally nose middle bone deviated in right side nose and turbinates surgery and please help me for this case. This discussion is related to nose injury to child.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.
Avatar n tn Over the past 2 1/2 to 3 months I have suffered from pressure behind my eyes which has bothered me most upon waking up and when doing sitting, focused work like working at the computer, reading, or driving. For the first few weeks when the pressure was very great I also had on and off dull headaches or flashes of pain, reminiscent of sinus pressure but without any congestion whatsoever.
538090 tn?1213808112 Tony, You sure need to be careful about getting a deviated septum fixed along with turbinate reduction. I had a deviated septum fixed along with my sinuses opened back in 2004 . Its been a nightmare for me. I'd gladly take what I had back before surgery. My turbinates were not touched. Please take a look at the following site before getting any kind of nasal surgery, especially turb reduction. Not telling you what to do, and I'm not a doctor.
Avatar m tn ve had a CT scan of my sinuses which showed a deviated septum with bone spur, and an MRI of my brain, which was normal except for white matter patches that showed up with contrast. In April 2014, I had sinus surgery, which did nothing to help my symptoms. My most recent appt was with the neurologist, who felt the white patches on my MRI were normal, probably caused by past migraines (I've only had 3 or 4 "classic" migraines in the past).
Avatar n tn Is it possible to get a deviated septum after only 2 months of cocaine use? When i blow my nose, it hurts and then a piece of skin will come out. What should i do about this? (Yes, i realize stop doing cocaine is the best thing. Spare me those comments.
189372 tn?1219833358 Here are my symptoms, I would like to know if all of these could be associated with a deviated septum, I would love to know of people with similar symptoms who are going to have the surgery or who already have had surgery, and of course anyone else that wants to comment.
Avatar m tn i was diagnosed year 2007 with severe deviated septum prior to this i have been experiencing some weird feelings about my health throughout my childhood , teenage and adolescent years. Let me share you my experiences about my health so you could enlighten me if those weird feelings are related to sinusitis/deviated septum as what i am thinking of or you might have experience the same thing.
Avatar f tn It seemed to be bigger on one side and Easley touchable on the right more than the left. But belive this might be due to the fact i think i have a slightly deviated septum. Because i couldnt stop touxhing and pushing proding around in my nose i made it bleed and infected a bad infection and sinus one too.
4556201 tn?1356445652 Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. In Elementary school, I fractured my nose pretty bad. Then in my early teens, I realized I had a 'bump' on the bridge, & a deviated septum. The 'bump' is caused by 2 super sharp bones sticking out. (It's so extreme/sharp that family & friends I let touch it were *all* really shocked by it, & assured me it was*not* normal.
1329703 tn?1275158081 I have a deviated septum that was found when my allergy shots started working but I still couldn't breathe through my nose. I also have mild sinus issues with them clogging and a mild infection (normally my immune system gets it under control within a week or so). I have the surgery in a couple of weeks so I can't comment on the long term affects yet but I'm hopeful it will help!
