961168 tn?1247979765 Middle of July I noticed my left nostril was not getting enough air through it-I went to the walk in and he said I was blocked quite high up-he gave a nasal spray-it worked right away-but the following week I noticed my nose would go numb-I looked inside my nose and noticed that the blockage was right at the opening-of course I thought the wrose-tumor-I was in a different province visiting my family so I went to the walk in-he sent me to an eNT-he said I clearly had a diviated septum-I have neve
Avatar m tn it took me almost half of my life to determine the problem in my nose that had altered my life. I had my deviated septum fix but didnt fix it 100% as they informed me that it may take 2 operation to entirely fix it as it was completely deviated to the left and its all crooked up to the back of my nose. i still experience excessive sweating, sinusitis, tinutis but tonsilitis i havent experience it so far, and its been a year and 1/2 since my surgery.
Avatar m tn I forgot to specify.. It always have been like that so my nose is not broken or anything it's only the septum that is deviated.. I can feel it when I enter my fingers in my nose and touch the septum. so.. is this fixable?
Avatar f tn Trigeminal neuralgia is quite uncommon in people with paranasal sinusitis. Despite what is commonly believed, facial pain is unlikely to be caused by sinus disease, especially in the absence of any nasal symptoms or signs. Yet the history of long standing relief of pain following antibiotic therapy prescribed by the ENT for sinusitis must not be ignored.
Avatar n tn wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and did it turn out to be the deviated septum and not a food or inhalant allergy?
Avatar f tn CSF is Cerebrospinal Fluid. If the nurse swabbed you up to your deviated septum, then it could be either two things. It could be a CSF leak or an infection of your deviated septum. Most likely it is an infection caused by the nurse shoving that swab deep up in there, going into your deviated septum, and ripped open a blood vessel. All you can do is take some antibiotics, or see a ENT doctor for further analysis.
538090 tn?1213808112 My question to you is, is it common for both nostrils to get congested at the same time because of deviated septum or my flu and bronchitis plays a role in it? I haven't been sleeping for over three weeks because of that and is developing anxiety and is afraid to go to bed. Since my surgery date is in September, I would like you to help me to regain my sanity and restore some sleep.
2058275 tn?1330706149 Assuming you are referring to a deviated NASAL septum (FYI there is a region of the heart called the septum), the answer is POSSIBLY. A deviated nasal septum, when severe, could impair normal respiratory pattern. In some cases this has led to loud snoring and even obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OSA could cause inadequate oxygenation during sleep, putting extra stress on the heart, which has been linked to the development and worsening of atrial fibrillation (AF).
Avatar f tn I'm not sure I'm posting in the right forum, but I thought it was worth a try. I'm going to make this as brief as possible. I went to a doctor complaining about headaches and not being able to breathe on the left side of my nose. The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe.
Avatar m tn Can you get a deviated septum if you snort pain pills? Like hydrocodiene, percs, norcos.?
Avatar m tn I have been having chronic problems with post nasal drip and pressure on the bridge of my nose. It's not terribly bothersome, rather annoying. Let me explain what I mean by post nasal drip. I feel like there is constantly mucus stuck in the back of my nose. It isn't really dripping down my throat, rather just sitting in the back of my nose. It feels thick and I often have to snort in order to get it out. It is not discolored, just clear/milky white.
Avatar f tn s of sinus infection. But it souns like the severe deviated septum is the cause of this, not primarily bacterial. Will this probably mean surgery? Websites make it sound simple, out-pt treatment. Would like to have the real scoop from real people who have had this done. I'm not looking to beautify my nose, just be able to breath thru it, not snore, and not constantly blowing it. I would appreciate any input. Thank you for your help.
1329703 tn?1275158081 I have a deviated septum that was found when my allergy shots started working but I still couldn't breathe through my nose. I also have mild sinus issues with them clogging and a mild infection (normally my immune system gets it under control within a week or so). I have the surgery in a couple of weeks so I can't comment on the long term affects yet but I'm hopeful it will help!
Avatar f tn Might want to get an opinion from a ear, nose and throat doctor to see if breaking your nose has damaged your nose. It might have changed the deviated septum to a point that something should be done to fix it. Anything that is very painful and doesn't improve greatly within 24 hours should be seen by a doctor.
Avatar f tn t want to have to keep getting surgery to correct my deviated septum. Is there any other options (besides nose sprays)?
Avatar n tn I know surgery is an option for the deviated septum. But will my nose ever not hurt again??? It also causes so much pressure in my ears that it has aggravated my TMJ. Sure wish I knew then what I know now...
Avatar f tn Hey, I did figure out what it was. It was a deviated septum of all things. I couldn't really tell because the other side of my septum hardly had any indent. Hope your appointment goes well.
4556201 tn?1356445652 You will get a better cosmetic result from a plastic surgeon, but maybe the ENT would cost less. Just have the bump fixed at the same time as the deviated septum is fixed. It is a common procedure.
Avatar f tn Deviated septum cause low oxygen in the body and it may leads to digits clubbing due to low oxygen in the body are this both related deviated septum and low oxygen
