Avatar f tn Hello: I am a 26 year old female that has had ear and allergy problems pretty much all of my life. I have been to an ENT a couple times, but nothing has really ever come of the visits. Right now, I am not insured so I am unable to visit on at this time. My main concern right now is my ears. Every single day, from morning till night, they always feel sort of full.
Avatar f tn when I went to Ent specialist my test results came normal for hearing....but doctor said I have heavy nasal septum deviation in left nose and also tonsils..he said due to septum deviation, tinnitus may occur....but never heard that nasal septum deviation can cause tinnitus....but important thing is..my left side nose is deviated,,my voice is hitting left ear,, and ringing in ear is also left only.
Avatar m tn If you saw the detailed anatomy of all the tiny canals of the ears and nose and eyes, you would be very impressed that we don't have more problems. It sounds like you have a deviated septum, which is more a bony problem than cartilage problem. Deviated septum can cause ear problems. You could try putting a solution of witch hazel and tea tree oil into the ear with an eye dropper for relief. It will clean out the ear.
Avatar m tn BT24, any updates on your hearing? I have same symptoms as you. pinched nerve in back and deviated septum, no nose bleees tho.
Avatar m tn The common causes for such nasal blockage, including nasal polyps and sinus infection. Deviated nasal septum (DNS) can also leads to obstruction. The sinus infection also leads to headache. Another important but rare possibility is Sjögren's syndrome. This is a rare disorder and is also associated with dryness of mouth and eye. You need to undergo detailed examination of nose and radiography of the sinuses to rule out existing sinusitis.
Avatar m tn All my life (or as far back as I remember) I've been anomsmic - I can't smell. An ENT sent me for a MRI which revealed that I have a deviated septum (although it's not visible when you look at my face). The ENT's response was that "it could" be this deviated septum that is causing the anosmia. "Could..." He wouldn't commit to a definite answer. But he was willing to perform surgery anyway!
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.
Avatar m tn I have a deviated septum. I've been searching on google for a while now and I think my case is one of the most deviated septum ever seen :| And I would like to know if that would be easy to fix it and what would it cost in Canada! And I just uploaded pics on my profile! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Deviated septum cause low oxygen in the body and it may leads to digits clubbing due to low oxygen in the body are this both related deviated septum and low oxygen
Avatar m tn i was diagnosed year 2007 with severe deviated septum prior to this i have been experiencing some weird feelings about my health throughout my childhood , teenage and adolescent years. Let me share you my experiences about my health so you could enlighten me if those weird feelings are related to sinusitis/deviated septum as what i am thinking of or you might have experience the same thing.
Avatar f tn Hello, I wanted to know the risksof having a deviated septum fixed. I had this problem for over 10 years and it seems to keep coming back. I had it fix twice before. I am noticing that the cartilage in my nose seems less so I am concerned. I don't want to have to keep getting surgery to correct my deviated septum. Is there any other options (besides nose sprays)?
4556201 tn?1356445652 Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. In Elementary school, I fractured my nose pretty bad. Then in my early teens, I realized I had a 'bump' on the bridge, & a deviated septum. The 'bump' is caused by 2 super sharp bones sticking out. (It's so extreme/sharp that family & friends I let touch it were *all* really shocked by it, & assured me it was*not* normal.
211940 tn?1267881266 Initial results, from my PCP, told me that my Pituitary gland, was smashed flat, possibly due to having a Deviated Septum correction surgery. Also, something that was "atypical" for a person w/ MS, not sure what that was, will find out more, when I see my Neurologist, next week, I will let you know what he says.
Avatar f tn I would definitely see a doc like an otologist on this one... Is the ringing in one ear or both? Is the left side of your face "drooping" like it is paralyzed? was the ringing and numbness a sudden onset? Any decrease in hearing?
1329703 tn?1275158081 I have a deviated septum that was found when my allergy shots started working but I still couldn't breathe through my nose. I also have mild sinus issues with them clogging and a mild infection (normally my immune system gets it under control within a week or so). I have the surgery in a couple of weeks so I can't comment on the long term affects yet but I'm hopeful it will help!
538090 tn?1213808112 I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and was told by my ENT specialist that i need a surgery ( September 8th, 2008) along with turbinate reduction. I was doing alright until I had a bout of flu four weeks ago and this made my life miserable. Then came along bronchitis which made my breathing through the mouth impossible. I am still having a little wheezing on my left chest and took an x-ray yesterday. I will have an answer within two days to see what the actual diagnosis will be.
Avatar f tn I got in to see the ENT dr a week ahead of schedule. I have chronic sinusitis, scars on both ears from past infections, and "fairly severe deviated septum,". He had trouble getting the scope up my nose, had to go to a smaller one. He put me on a "push" of prednisone, antibiotics, and Nasonex. Also scheduled a CT scan of sinus's in a month to see if infection is gone. Then he said we would decide what to do. My sx were a constant drippy nose, pressure in ears, headaches.
Avatar m tn Can you get a deviated septum if you snort pain pills? Like hydrocodiene, percs, norcos.?
Avatar m tn I have been having chronic problems with post nasal drip and pressure on the bridge of my nose. It's not terribly bothersome, rather annoying. Let me explain what I mean by post nasal drip. I feel like there is constantly mucus stuck in the back of my nose. It isn't really dripping down my throat, rather just sitting in the back of my nose. It feels thick and I often have to snort in order to get it out. It is not discolored, just clear/milky white.
Avatar f tn The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe. Well he did make it easier to breathe out of the clogged side, but he moved the septum too far and now I cannot breathe out of what was my "good" side. My headaches are worse than they were before the surgery.
Avatar n tn So I went to the ENT today and had them stick that scope up my nose and apparently I have a pretty bad deviated septum ... he gave me a script for a nasal spray and an antibiotic but I'm not sure what the antibiotic is for, I don't like taking antibiotics if I don't have to so I'm hesitant to take that. He mentioned surgery but for the possible future ... I'm hoping the nasal spray will help the allergies and the post nasal drip ...
