1387175 tn?1326400997 I went through that with my father and two trips to the ER. It was horrible. He did have a deviated septum and was taking aspirin. The last visit, the ER doc actually had to do a cauterization. He also used to use a nasal spray daily and that may have aggravated the condition Has your mother seen an ENT doctor? If not, I suggest she do so.

Avatar f tn Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.
Avatar f tn Everyone here has deviated septum and had sudden profound hearing loss? Yes?
Avatar n tn Now the inside of my nose has been eaten away. I have been told by my ENT that I have a deviated septum now and acute chronic sinunitus. He gave me a great receipe for a nasal solution that helps but not enough. In the mornings, my nose is so dry and stopped up that it hurts. When I try to blow all the muscus out, it is dry and hard so it hurts terribly. I have used tweesers to help pull some out but it is getting annoying. It seems to be so far up my nose that I can't get to it easily.
Avatar m tn I've been diagnost with a deviated septum and excercised induced astma and was wondering if any one had septum fixed? Would it help with sinus infections and breathing for asthma? Any deviated septum repair stories out there?
Avatar m tn I have been having chronic problems with post nasal drip and pressure on the bridge of my nose. It's not terribly bothersome, rather annoying. Let me explain what I mean by post nasal drip. I feel like there is constantly mucus stuck in the back of my nose. It isn't really dripping down my throat, rather just sitting in the back of my nose. It feels thick and I often have to snort in order to get it out. It is not discolored, just clear/milky white.
Avatar m tn My strong feeling is that since the septum is deviated the opening are small and they get blocked easily when the blood vessels in my nose become swollen due to irritants or blowing. I want to make a point here. My nose gets blocked my stuff in my nose and also due to swollen blood vessels. Blowing removes the stuff in my nose but irritates my nose and the blood vessels become swollen. So there will still be blockage in my nose and hence not much relief. 4.
Avatar m tn I got whacked in the nose with an elbow playing basketball about 20 years ago. It bled like you wouldn't believe and since then I've had sort of a "Roman nose" effect on the bridge of my nose. This was when I was living in southern California where I grew up. I moved to the Seattle area 10 years ago and about a year after I got here I came down with what turned out to be a BAD sinus infection. It lasted about 6 months, chronic coughing, pressure in my face, etc.
Avatar f tn The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe. Well he did make it easier to breathe out of the clogged side, but he moved the septum too far and now I cannot breathe out of what was my "good" side. My headaches are worse than they were before the surgery.
Avatar f tn Hi, a deviated nasal septum can cause an obstruction to breathing and correction will ensure that your symptoms will improve. But this may not help correct the post nasal drip. Post nasal drip could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. These can lead to a post nasal drip and lead to an irritation in the throat. It could be sinusitis, if it is accompanied by nasal stuffiness and facial pain or pressure. Post nasal drip could also be due to allergens.
Avatar m tn I considered the possibility of dental problems and had a thorough checkup to that effect. It revealed nothing abnormal. I also underwent sinus surgery for a deviated septum and unfortunately that hasn't remedied the problem. Some days I feel better than others, and I haven't been able to correlate it with anything (weather/food/sleep/etc). Are neurological problems likely at my age (28)?
538090 tn?1213808112 I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and was told by my ENT specialist that i need a surgery ( September 8th, 2008) along with turbinate reduction. I was doing alright until I had a bout of flu four weeks ago and this made my life miserable. Then came along bronchitis which made my breathing through the mouth impossible. I am still having a little wheezing on my left chest and took an x-ray yesterday. I will have an answer within two days to see what the actual diagnosis will be.
Avatar n tn I suggested maybe it was my sinuses, he did a CT scan of them and said my sinuses were clear, but I do have a severely deviated septum, which I do not think is contributing to these problems, since I have had no injuries to my nose, this would lead me to believe that I have had this issue all of my life (deviated septum). I have been checked for thyroid problems twice and my BP is good. I have seen a dentist and do not have TMJ or any abscesses.
Avatar f tn I got in to see the ENT dr a week ahead of schedule. I have chronic sinusitis, scars on both ears from past infections, and "fairly severe deviated septum,". He had trouble getting the scope up my nose, had to go to a smaller one. He put me on a "push" of prednisone, antibiotics, and Nasonex. Also scheduled a CT scan of sinus's in a month to see if infection is gone. Then he said we would decide what to do. My sx were a constant drippy nose, pressure in ears, headaches.
Avatar f tn One day in winter night my left ear suddenly felt like opened and mild ringing has started I thought it was due to cold air......after one and half month...the ringing became high in left ear...when I talk , my inner voice is hitting left ear...when I went to Ent specialist my test results came normal for hearing....but doctor said I have heavy nasal septum deviation in left nose and also tonsils..he said due to septum deviation, tinnitus may occur....
Avatar f tn he never had any problems with sinuses or allergies or really anything until he worked in fiberglass for 10 months. Now he has constant pressure on his eyes, ears, and head. His throat closes or is so raw that he can't eat. We have found one doctor that dx a sever deviated septum. Unfortunately he needs 4,000.00 to fix something that might not even help. has anyone ever had a septum fixed? Does it work to alleviate all the pressure that is felt on the ears, eyes, and basically everywhere?
1452978 tn?1285110262 Has anyone had the sinus surgery and it helped the dizziness, off balance, and lightheaded feeling. I am have a deviated septum that is being correct. I am nervous I have never had surgery before but I am praying this takes care of the issues. Could someone please share their experiences with me, my surgery is Thursday. Thanks so much!
679481 tn?1226444296 The ent is not impressed that this along with my deviated septum is what is causing the pressure. Can it be? When the ent looked at the scan he said there was a small are of grey in my left ear mastoid, but that would not be causing problems either. My mri showed a 6mm pineal cyst without compression or hydrocephalus. THat is all that is showing that is abnormal. Any ideas as to what could be causing this are greatly appreciated. I am suffering and need to get back to work!
Avatar m tn MRI, blood work and neurologist consultation all were normal. I also experience a fullness feeling in my forehead, like an icecream headache. Sometimes yawning or laughter can trigger the forehead pain. Sometimes, I feel pressure in my temple area, not throbbing but more of a fullness pressure. Could this be due to a sinus issue? I believe I had a deviated septum but I don't have nasal discharge. Just have trouble breathing through my nose almost all the time.
Avatar n tn Do you use nasal sprays other then saline? Do you have a deviated septum? Have you had any blood work done and your clotting factor checked? I think I would check these things out. Good luck.
Avatar f tn 20 mg ,been on it over 6 weeks now ,I do a have a nasal deviated septum on the right side and that's the side were the problems have been
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a cyst in each of my maxillary sinuses and a badly deviated septum. I have been dizzy, terrible teeth and jaw pain as well as facial pain and pressure. The dr prescribed Allegra, singular, Flonase and Asteleine nasal sprays. I am not having any relief. I was on the Asteline sir 2. -3 weeks now and the other 3 meds I just started. 2 weeks ago I had a ctscan and it didn’t show an infection. My teeth didn’t hurt then just had a headache and pressure.

Avatar f tn I hope the title doesn't seem too silly, but yes, I haven't been able to find a slow breathing technique that works for me in the last 2 years. I can't breathe through my nose really well, deviated septum. ENT's told me to fix my anxiety before contemplating any surgery. And then I clench because I have TMJ, that is a work in progress. I breathe abdominally but I constantly feel jammed up around the neck and mouth.
