In a 28-week treatment regimen in which patients received 4 weeks of PEGINTRON(TM) (peginterferon alfa-2b) and REBETOL(R) (ribavirin, USP) prior to the addition of boceprevir (800 mg TID), the rate of sustained virological response at 12 weeks after the end of treatment (SVR 12) was 57 percent (ITT).
Avatar f tn In cases with mild or moderate symptoms, psychotherapy can be used as an alternative treatment. In severe cases and in patients with a history of recurrent, severe depression, continuation or initiation of treatment might be the best option. "Every single case should be considered individually, and the decision should be made by the woman and her ob-gyn and psychiatrist," she says. Health.

Avatar n tn I have been on depo-provera for 2 years for treatment of stage 4 endometriosis with secondary cpp and ibs. I recently visited my first endometriosis specialist in Vancouver. She told me to talk to my doctor about changing my birth control as i was taking 150mg every 2 months. the risks of bone loss are very high. she also suggested a birth control low in estrogen. a week after my visit with her i made an appt to see my gp.
1442059 tn?1340244552 I have a friend w/ lupus and her depression is hard to deal with. The depression from the tx is temporary and will end when tx stops. I think that is easier to endure. That's kind of contradicting, but I've never personally experience depression like my friend w/ lupus. I hope ur Dr. can give you some advice n you'll get relief.
Avatar m tn Few months ago I've had laser treatment for lattice in both eyes. I'm myopic. After treatment I controlled my eyes and doctor said everything is ok. I've always had floaters but i saw them only sometimes. Now i see them all the time. My question is: Could my floaters be worse because of laser treatment? Last time i had very stressful period in my life too. I don't now if my floaters are more noticeable because of treatment or because of stress? I'm very anxious about my floaters and lattice.
Avatar f tn Some of the reasons your doctor doesn't want to put you on treatment is your neuropathy, depression, panic attacks. All the current treatments include alfa interferon and some of the side effects of drug is neuropathic, depression ect..going on the treatment would be very risky for you and would make your symptoms worst. You're at stage 0-1 it is a better gamble to wait for the all oral treatments coming in a couple years. in couple years.

1168718 tn?1464987135 Still no news on the Vancouver *second opinion* visit...., but they say that MS has NO PAIN, and that it has to be something else. I just don't know what to do...
1168718 tn?1464987135 Bactrim is what the surgeon put me on after my botox treatment because he said there was evidence of infection. 30 days worth. Be sure to have a bit of food in your stomach to cushion the drug effect. I'll hope the surgery can go on as scheduled but you also need to be sure the UTI doesn't pose an additional risk- you don't need any more complications.

Avatar n tn ) About 6 years ago, after all the major changes in my body had slowed down, I have had extremely bad mood swings, to depression. ( I didnt know why I was living!!! But I did not have a thought of slitting my wrist or anything). Now, as of 2 years ago, I have muscle spasms. Legs, face, and my hands seem to always be trembling. Yes, I still have the headaches and my mood swings have calmed down some what, but my depression is worse now then ever.
Avatar n tn I am not on anything...cause I am so "normal". I am going to go back this week to ask my family doctor for some kind of med but honestly I am not sure how she is going to deal with it. I think she might try it but now that my TSH is so "normal" I am more doubtful I will get some kind of treatment. I am pinning my hope on the antibody test. I think to get into an endo would take about 9 months to a year...and I do not for see getting a referral with my labs.

Avatar m tn I strongly recommend getting it sooner, on YOUR terms, than later, on the terms of your local district attorney. Take a leave of absence and enter detox and treatment. The way to self taper from tramadol is to realize that the drug has two things to withdraw from-- the mu opioid effects, which Suboxone can help with, and the serotonin/norepinephrine reuptake blockade, which an SSRI will help with.
Avatar m tn I'm not going back. I'm sick of treatment resiestant OCD, complex PTSD, depression, epilepsy, conversion disorder, and other physical health conditions affecting my heart, muscles, and intestines that we haven't been able to diagnose. I'm 21 and try haven't been able to treat it yet-so I doubt they will be able to before I miss out on the "best" years if my life. I want to know if this is going to be enough to kill my liver or if I should find a way to get more.
1383082 tn?1279331574 I hope it isn't too long or rambling! I'm a 56 year old female living in Vancouver, Canada, married with one son (21). In 2000, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, with all its attendant symptoms.
1015816 tn?1295502929 I had enough - I called the hospital and explained the horrible treatment I got and I was faxed ALL my results. It's a big no-no for them to do that because as I suspected - my results were aweful. The ACTH Test result was to double and my results went down - my cortisol was flatlined.
175734 tn?1225138040 In addition, infection with Borrelia often results in a low grade encephalopathy (infection of the brain) that can cause depression, bipolar disorder, panic attacks, numbness, tingling, burning, weakness, or twitching. Avatar n tn this is week 11 and since I started, I have lost 15 pounds. Before I started treatment, I lost 22lbs. That was due to the deep depression I fell into just discovering what was wrong with me. So I lost a total of 37 lbs so far, but not cause I tried, I just did. It varies from person to person, I think. I needed to lose the weight anyway. And I will more than likely gain some of it back when I'm done with treatment.

1168718 tn?1464987135 Avonex is an interferon and it is known to have problems with depression in some people, especially if they are already prone to depression. Our own dear Quix sunk quickly on Avonex and if I remember correctly, she didn't recognize how bad it was until she got off of it. Other people have absolutely no problems. The Canadian system may not have approved payment for Gilenya, but that would surprise me. It made it to market much quicker than Tecfidera.
Avatar f tn Her tram failed, by the way, so I was very picky of the doc I chose. She commented that my treatment was entirely different from hers. When I first came home after the mastectomy, I had the scar and bird seed type breast, as you call it. My eldest daughter just thought it was my new boob, though (she was barely 1 at the time). Yep, I'm cured. I am now going through semi-yearly and yearly routine checks, CT scans, mammo, bone scans, etc.
Avatar n tn Some people don't feel the FLU feeling for days ---- or months --- or even until right after treatment... So don't panic at all --- you'll be fine... Some of the side effects can suck the life right out of you - but you'll make it through. Unless you have a horrible reaction that you just can't live with. Hair --- well - that's another story. Be prepared for a lot of it to be lost...
647754 tn?1270040511 Any disability that affects you in addition to the depression. And as for postponing the hep. c. treatment I would like to know their rationale. You will recover from depression. But worst case scenario and you didn't if they postponed that treatment for the hep c it could be life threatening. And then you could never recover physically at all.
