Common Questions and Answers about Depression treatment protocol

depression

Avatar n tn 5) I was told me continue on the same dosage of Tapazole and retest in 8 weeks. My question is this...does this follow the ATD treatment protocol? My doctor has indicated that he does not know alot about GD, but is willing to work with me on the ATDs. He is pushing for RAI, as he said that it is easier for him to control hypo patients with Synthyroid. I have no interest in RAI so I need to educate myself and him on ATDs. Thank you.
Avatar m tn 75), that could indicate mild ischemia. ST segment depression (horizontal or downsloping) is the most reliable indicator of exercise-induced ischaemia. •Horizontal ST segment depression of less than 2 mm (-1.73). Although you haven't stated it, it appears the test was terminated due to abnormal ST. Induced ischemia indicates some vessel occlusion(s). Thanks for your question, and if you have any followup questions you are welcome to respond. Take care.
Avatar f tn I don't know why the doctors would be refusing Hepatitis C treatment for people with Depression. Interferon can cause Depression but you won't be using Interferon. There are Interferon free treatments available. Even with Interferon treatments, the doctors treated people with Depression unless they were very unstable or suicidal. I have a long history of Depression and I treated in 2011-2012 for 48 weeks with Interferon, Ribavirin, and Incivek. I did fine.

461993 tn?1245696952 Most of this program is from the book END YOUR ADDICTION NOW.. the doctor who wrote it ran a treatment facility in UPstate New york where they gave patients amino acids and vitamin via IV during treatment.. He also counsels patients individually.. All of these things are meant to rebuild activity in the major neuro transmitters.. as addicts our neurotransmitters have been disrupted by our use of drugs.. even stuff like cigarettes and eating alot of sugar can disrupt them..
553001 tn?1218815368 Hi everyone, can someone please tell me how to get amino acid protocol ? Are they injections and have to get from Dr ? Like a rpimary ? I got L-tyrosone 500mg free form amino acid, is that the same ? I want these injections because some many people on here swear by them, i need to try them...
Avatar n tn Following something very like this protocol it took me 4 years to get to very normal bilirubin and GGT and high-normal AST/ALT, and to feel normal all the time - and it probably took that long to correct lifestyle and diet, to quit most drugs and sugar and foods I knew I was intolerant of; but on the other hand, I already felt much better within a week of starting selenium & ACE and l-cysteine, which is how I began; like being reborn after a decade of depression, sickness, pain and fatigue.

Avatar n tn just wondering how many of you are on antidepressants?did you start taking them after you had been on treatment for awhile?what is the usual protocol?does anyone go thru 48 weeks without them?
Avatar f tn But I will be on Medicare by then and they will pay. Treatment can bring on anxiety and/or depression also so please don't be too hard on yourself. I would never go without my daily flaxseed oil. Its harder to do when you are travelling but they do have capsules. I look on life as an adventure and I just want to be the best person I can for the Lord. He gave us this life and it's what we do with it that is our gift back to him. I started a bodywork business in my home doing reflexology.
Avatar m tn I was first diagnosed with Hep C in 2001 after probably contracting virus in 1969. Genotype 1. As my health was generally good I have waiting for improvements in SOC treatment success. Levels generally around 400,000, ALT 55. at I have taken the leap and am now 12 weeks into SOC & Filibuvir/placebo clinical trial. I had >2.09 log reduction at week 4 and < 15 at week 8. Undetectable. No RVR but EVR which is quite the difference in treatment duration.
Avatar f tn I've also had depression off and on, and that isn't my personality. I live with headaches and have often wondered if Synthroid is a contributing factor. Thank you.
87972 tn?1322664839 I thought I’d post this info to help others gain perspective into their own treatment protocol, maybe some of us can learn from this.
806995 tn?1265826776 I was put on Celexa a couple months before I started treatment. I had been diagnosed with depression before. It takes a few weeks for some ADs to actually start working so I suggest you talk to your doc asap. I am on shot #4 on Tuesday. This was a hard week, last week was easy so Im not quiet sure which way I am heading but I know that my AD is with me. A lot of people are scared of ADs but prior use assured me that theres no harm there. I see an AD as a rescue drug for depression.
Avatar n tn They put you on anti-depressants, statins, pain meds, blood pressure meds, and all sorts of bandaid medications to cover the effects of a poor thyroid treatment, which include chronic depression, anxiety, weight gain, the need to nap, aches and pains, rising cholesterol or blood pressure, heart problems, “Chronic Fatigue Syndrome”, “Fibromyalgia”, bi-polar, anxiety, hair loss, dry skin or dry hair… to name just a few. When you mention your poor energy levels, they tell you to “exercise more”.
Avatar m tn My wife is recovering from depression. 3 years ago she began treatment at as outpatient. The Dr. prescribed Luvox (I think the initial dosage was 50; it was cut to 25 about 1 year ago) which helped her work through the things causing depression and she is well on her way to recovery (by her own admission and I concur). She wants to stop the medication safely, but her doctor is reluctant to allow her to stop.
Avatar n tn And if he's still using do you think he can be properly treated for the depression ??? I don't because I think for him the heroin IS the treatment right now. Thanks for the balance.
Avatar n tn Many experienced hepatologists / treating GI's will send a person for a psych evaluation or at least take into account any history of depression or previous treatment for mood disorders prior to starting treatment. I hope the doctor treating your family member is well-acquainted with the potential side effects of these drugs and is prepared to act to address what your family member is experiencing.
Avatar f tn I started with antibiotics that I did for 2 years before switching to a natural protocol. I am doing better with the herbs but have the horrible insomnia you spoke of.
Avatar f tn I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but since you were DET at week 4, the treatment protocol is for you to continue Interferon and Ribavirin for a total of 48 weeks. You have treated about 14 weeks so you actually should continue Interferon and Ribavirin for another 34 weeks. I know that sounds like a long time, but the fact that you were still DET at weeks 4 means your chances of attaining SVR (cure) are lower and they are a lot lower if you treat for only 24 weeks total.
1722607 tn?1335751458 Has anyone here skipped the pre treatment exams and just went straight to treatment? I also mentioned before that he says a liver biopsy is not needed. Just concerned and would like to hear your opinion, thank you!
Avatar f tn How often will I be doing labs during treatment? What is your protocol for dealing with low wbc or rbc? What about other side effects? How often will I be seeing you during treatment? Who do I contact in an emergency ? Will I be able to have copies of all my labs and tests ? Will you be available via phone or email to answer my questions ?
137025 tn?1217768341 I have completed 48 weeks 2 weeks ago, however I have noticed minimal URQ pain the same as I was experiencing prior to treatment. Is this something that happens post treatment due to recovery? I don't want to be paranoid but..... Anyone experience this post treatment. Of course I am sure you know what is going thru my mind right about now.
Avatar f tn I quitting oxy tommorow and although I have the stuff for the Thomas recipe I also want to get the stuff for the amino acid protocol. I'm a little confused on what I can take from it if I'm on antidepressants. Can someone please clarify? Also should I start taking the stuff from the amino acid protocol right away? Please let me know, thanks.
