Avatar f tn I'm in the Houston Tx area. I'm having episodes off rage, burst of energy that immediately folliw depression/irritability. I'm a recovering addict with a mental illness who can't afford help. I sobered myself up but life is very hard to manage, even after 7 yrs. I've taken anxiety/depression meds, usually makes it worse. I hate taking things anyhoo being an addict. Everyone tells me it's most likely necessary.

Avatar m tn I Just got called from the liver study clinic in Houston, they said that the first blood work back from them introducing Boceprivir into my treatment (introduced at week 4, blood work done at week 6) shows a negative viral load! Thats great news for me being a type A 1 and second time around on treatment! Looks like the Broceprivir works! By they way, anyone know how your viral load can be negative?

792410 tn?1270315500 Any feed back would be very much appreciated because in the two years I have had OvCa I have had no success at all with chemotherapy or hormonal therapy so I feel as though I really would have very little to lose if I were to try alternative cancer treatment. Do you think the treatments discussed in the book are crazy?

661497 tn?1227724461 Now, with the maintenance doses, she and her husband travel to Houston (5 hrs 1 way) to get her treatment there and then come home. I am also happy to report that she is starting back to work this month. I know their types of cancer are different, but I wanted to make sure you heard a success story and pallative care story. I know my MIL would not be with us right now had it not been for MDAnderson. They gave my MIL 6 months and it has now been 10 months since the cancer diagnosis.
Avatar n tn I have suffered with headaches everyday of my life for at least the past 10 years. I take painkillers everyday. I also have regular nosebleeds and slight dizziness. I have had tablets from the doctor for 6 months which are usually prescribed for depression but they haven't helped so I no longer take them. The headaches are really getting me down as I can't seem to function properly each day.
Avatar m tn t tell you a specific name, but if you are in SW Lousiana, you are close to Houston, and that is one of the greatest heart treatment centers in the world. I had valve surgery there. I did have a cardiologist who did my presurgical cath and who followed me postsurgically in the hospital, and I would go back to him anytime. He is extremely well regarded and is the head of a large, high-profile cardiology group.
Avatar f tn My original question was to convince my son to get help for his pill addiction. I saw a website in Houston called Detox Houston (which is where he lives) & I convinced him to go. The website looks great & sounds great but it is not. It's a joke. There is no follow-up help at all. He's had some terrible relapses & now I'm trying to find something else. He wants something that he can do as an outpatient. How do you go about finding a decent doctor/therapist to help you?
Avatar m tn I have always felt tired and fatigued and I have always felt like I have had some trouble concentrating at school and at work, but things have recently gotten a lot worse. I moved to Houston temporarily about a month and a half ago and ever since I have been feeling very bad. It started with severe lack of concentration and fatigue at work, but it quickly developed into feeling physically bad also. I wake up feeling achy and slightly feverish with the sweats.
