5864500 tn?1380893197 If you have truly tried a lot of different meds and therapy and just haven't seen any improvement, you may have a tougher case of depression (called treatment resistant depression). Your doc could shed light on that for you, if he/she feels that may be the problem. If that is the case, and you're doing as much as you can to address it, trying different meds and working hard yourself, then it may be time to discuss treatment options like ECT or electroconvulsive therapy.
Avatar n tn Cognitive-Behavioral psychotherapy is particularly useful for the treatment of depression. You might reuqest a referral for this therapy. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and treatment plans.
1075007 tn?1255649651 Change docs and get some sensible advice and treatment. No doctor should prescribe off a checklist in response to a questionaire. That tells you he knows nothing about the meds and is actually dangerous, not helpful. Change docs, now. The pharmacist has also told you this in other words. Right? Do it.
Avatar f tn Any time during pregnancy you think you might be depressed you need to talk to your doctor, it could turn into ppd after baby is born. It's better to gey a head start on treatment than wait.

Avatar f tn I am wondering if you are seeing a Medical Doctor or Therapist for your depression and anxiety. A healthy diet certainly can make your body run smoother but if you do suffer from the dual diagnosis of depression/anxiety first you must get together a treatment plan that in many cases will include a well balanced diet. You do ask about staying motivated and I have found that depression drowns motivation in most cases.
Avatar f tn have you seen a doctor for help with depression? If so, when, and what treatment was tried? If you could answer those few questions, we'll be able to give you some recommendations, as there is a difference between situational depression (feelings of sadness due to life events or losses) and clinical diagnosed depression. Hope to hear from you soon!
Avatar f tn One day I just felt so vile that I went crying to my midwife and now I've beem referred for treatment to help my anxiety and depression. If you want to private message me and talk/vent you can, sometimes it's better to talk to someone you dont know in person. But i do suggest going to your midwife or doctor as they can help you.
Avatar f tn Can you see a councilor or local doctor and see if there is a treatment or different options that might help with these things, I am not a doctor but i have experienced depression before and if yet help with it, then lifes a lot easier. If you are planning suicide you really need to tell someone because life can get better.
Avatar f tn If the things you've been given have not helped with the depression you are suffering, please speak to your doctor about what to do next so that you can get treatment and be safe. We've sent resources to your inbox. Please let us know if we can help.

Avatar f tn these meds can make a huge difference in peoples lives and for many will help them get through treatment since the tx drugs can cause depression.
Avatar f tn Dear lina, I am not a psychologist, just a person who has experienced depression. I'm sorry you are feeling this way. The best thing you can do is talk about what you are feeling with someone, ideally a psychologist or other mental health professional. They can advise you as to how to proceed with talk therapy or possibly even antidepressant medication. There are sometimes low-cost options available since (I am assuming) you do not have health insurance.
1136436 tn?1261829761 Unless you have identified and corrected problems and issues in your life that were causing depression that is. Depression doesn't just disappear because we want it to. You have to work hard with treatment to achieve that. Therapy is the best method but medictaion is necessary for many to be avle to cope day to day. The real answer to your question is ask your doctor as they know you and how well you are.
Avatar n tn When I was first diagnosed with Hep C four years ago, I went into a depression. Four months into the treatment, the depression got real bad and I became hopeless. I thought I would always feel the way I was feeling. About two months into the tx, I noticed a pattern where I felt like I was coming out of a fog (like when you clear a bad fever) a couple of days after the injection.
Avatar m tn To the poster, for treating clinical depression, it is widely known that the best course of treatment involves a combination approach of medication and talk therapy. You sound to have a very complex medical history though. ADHD, mood disorders and depression requires a good psychiatrist to manage. Good communication with your doctor is essential as you try different medications to improve the situation. Add each one slowly monitoring if you improve in any way.
Avatar f tn People do get better from depression, with treatment. If you have mania/bipolar disorder it is likely you will need medication for life but it is possible to be stable without depression and manias, if you take the medication. Life with out the hospital unit is defiantly possible as well, depending on how long you were there will change how hard it is to adapt. I hope this answers your question.
Avatar f tn Depression is a common side effect of interferon. Yes, it will go away after treatment is over. You can go on ADs or you can constantly remind yourself that it's just the meds. I don't take ADs but I do break down now and then. ( avoid the news) My best solution is watching comedies.
Avatar m tn Someone knows natural remedies for depression but without allopathic chemicals? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I had to stop treatment because of depression. I still battle with depression almost on a daily basis. I never had trouble with depression before. I think the meds somehow changed my body. I deal with the depression by saying to myself everything is fine, be happy. I'm gettin sick of bucking myself up. I don't tell my wife about this problem because it gets old quick. Is there anyone out there who feels like this!
602261 tn?1252586758 Sorry for two posts today I should have included this in my original post but how much of a role does depression play in your individual treatment? I would like to hear some people's opinion on how severe it is. I know it's sometimes a case by case basis but I was just interested in hearing from those of you that have or haven't encountered this problem while in treatment. I want to hear from both sides.

365138 tn?1234487019 In case the doctor doesnt answer and you frighten this young Mom!
Avatar n tn There is NO reason that your mother should be uncomfortable. Depression or not. It sounds like she has depression and it will get worse. Depression is a HORRIBLE illness that doesn't go away on its own. If this were happening to you, wouldn't you get help? Tell her that it would make you happy to see her take care of her beautiful face. Get her to the doctor and get into the exam room with her. Tell the doctor the past year has been brutal and that she would benefit from an antidepressant.
Avatar n tn Do you seriously prefer self harm and potential suicide to seeing a doctor and admitting the self harm? No doctor would not have seen self harm Amy and they will not be interested in anything but helping. Get off you butt and go see the doc. You are saving your life if you do.

Avatar m tn Hi, I'm sorry that you are finding things such a struggle at the moment but as a mum of a teenager who has a mood disorder and having bi-polar disorder myself I can say that feeling like this when depressed can be overwhelming but can and does pass with help and support. Have you seen your doctor about how you are feeling at the moment as you don't say? If so, Are you taking any medication for this depressive episode?
Avatar n tn I am 38, single. I was diagnosed with PTSD-Borderline PD,Manic Depression 2. I am on zoloft as well as Depekote. I have bouts with depression though that seem to be unaffected by the medication. I have feelings of suicide but maintain a fear of death. One moment I am okay mood wise but any trigger can send me into a tailspin of depression where i want to die, and with an intense level of self loathing. Usually the trigger is, some act or some comment that one around me does or says.
