Common Questions and Answers about Depression test yahoo health

Avatar f tn During one of my increasingly frequent depressive moments, I posted a question on Yahoo! Answers detailing my symptoms, and someone said it sounds like I have MS. I have considered it in the past, but the thing that always tells me, "Couldn't be." is the fact that I have this stabbing pain on one very specific spot on the back of my head all of the time. Anyway, I'm just going to copy and paste my question below.
Avatar n tn Hi there here is a great site telling you all about those blood test results we all want to know about .... I'm trying my skill at putting a link here, so lets see how I go hahaha ..... <url=>Click Here</url> Good Luck take things one day at a time...
Avatar f tn He said my symptoms could be from depression/anxiety. He looked at my past labs and says they weren't normal and he did more blood test and then we'll go from them. He says my heart has a murmur and we're testing to see whats going on with that. He seems to care and talked with me, the best I've been to so far.
Avatar n tn Feel lousy last 10 months, had many blood tests everything normal except one liver alt/sgpt test was 71(norm 9-52), second test I am waiting for. I feel tired alot, pale gums, tingles throughout my head. I excerise 3 miles a day, on a good diet, but feel awful. I have ringing in my ears too. I am SOOOOO sick of feeling sick. Avatar n tn Hello Ladies- I'm 36 and have had history of cysts, endometrios, & phallops. I have had my embryo transfer 2/28/07 and my pregnancy test is 3/10/08 at 8am !! I'm sure all of you out there know how stressful these past 14 days have been. I have been taking pre-natal pills for a long time and now I'm doing 300 units if progestone (vaginally.. let me say ewwww !!) . I have not had my period yet and I know that even if I have a positive test , I could still have a m/c.
Avatar n tn I've heard that it's possible to have MS with negative test results for a while, early on in the course of it. I'd love it if I really had nothing. But I am getting worse. I've just had another exacerbation. It's a clear exacerbation, my second, clearly different symptoms (maybe linked to that faint enhancing lesion that I thought I saw on the MRI?)????? I just want to know, and want to know what to do now. I'm going to get the second opinion.
Avatar n tn I am NEVER late and was sure THIS WAS IT. Lo and behold the test had a big minus. I cried. I didn't test in the a.m. but it says you don't have to. I am scared to test again just to see another sad result. I feel queasy but maybe I am wishing these symptoms on. How accurate are these tests?? How long should I wait to do it again? Thanks!!

Avatar f tn I am a 34 year old female and live in New Hampshire and tested positive for Lyme. I went to infectious disease yesterday with my lab results in which I tested positive for lyme with western blot IGG IGM I had 7 reactive bands out of 10 and 2 out of 3 on IGM .. I was bitten last year in may by a nymph deer tick and was told I dont need medical attn unless I had a bullseye rash develop. I didn't see and rash so I figured I was fine, and forgot about the tick bite.
Avatar n tn I had taken the thyroid within two hours of the test and I wonder if that skewed the test results. Would a truer picture occur if I didn't take the dose that morning? I never had any hyper symptoms and can't tell you how much better I was feeling. I don't want to go back to that depressive world even for a month of Synthroid trial. What can I tell my doctor, even in the face of "doubled" T3, that the USP thyroid helped me so much?
Avatar n tn Suicide Caution Sought for Antidepressants 1 hour, 3 minutes ago Add Health - AP to My Yahoo! By LAURAN NEERGAARD, AP Medical Writer WASHINGTON - Patients on some popular antidepressants should be closely monitored for warning signs of suicide, the government warned Monday in asking the makers of 10 drugs to add the caution to their labels.
Avatar n tn Those are good questions! Armour is a prescription-only med. And a DO is a Doctor of Osteopathy. Same training and qualifications as an MD, but they focus more on the interaction between organ systems and on how your lifestyle affects your health. They are "regular doctors" and show up on your health plan listings along with everyone else. I think a DO is a particularly good choice when your thyroid symptoms persist despite treatment with levothyroxine.
Avatar m tn If you want more information to figure out how to go about this, you could consider getting a bit more blood work done. Opt for a free testosterone test with SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) test. A cortisol test can help shed light on stress & adrenal health. Also, testing estradiol (E2) can indicate how your body is converting testosterone &/or excreting estrogen/estradiol. (By the way, if you drink alcohol, this effects your estrogen [& by extension, testosterone] levels.
Avatar f tn I live at ease with my mother, my father has been present in all years of my life and occasionally comes to visit me every day or week, I have a High School Diploma, and I do not work or go to college yet. I am probably the closest thing to your average teen boy. Sometimes I do get depressed and anxious about the meaning of life, and trying to examine its purpose, however I usually dismiss this idea and just continue living, trying to make the best of my situation.
Avatar n tn If you want to speak to people in same boat there are other very active sites...have a look at Yahoo Health Groups' - Natural Thyroid Hormone site. People are very helpful and understanding. Best. ...
147426 tn?1317269232 I always plowed headfirst into my studies, my profession and projects. Straight out of internship I went right into the Indian Health Service. There was no hesitation to moving to a rural town to be a solo pediatrician. Now, I am feeling fear and am putting off something I need to do. I am afraid to relearn to drive. Now, I've been driving for 45 years - and pretty successfully. But, the MS has taken away my ability to raise my right knee - which makes it darn hard to hit the brake!

Avatar n tn I posted previously about the dosage changes of my Synthroid from 150mcg to 137mcg because of my hair loss, my endocrinologist said that reducing my dose would help and it did slow the hair loss, but not enough, and now I have all the symptoms of hypothyroid (dry course hair that falls out more than ever, cold feet and hands, my body temperature mid-day is 97.6, fatigue, depression, etc.
Avatar f tn I have not taken the Free T3 and Free T4 tests; I don't have health insurance, so just took the TSH test. I have seen two primary doctors and an endo, and they all say my TSH is fine and they can't figure out why I look like a beached whale. They even had me take a gluten allergy test and a diabetes test, which came back normal, too.
Avatar f tn I have insomnia, chronic fatigue, hair loss, dry skin, skin problems, constipation, digestion difficulty, anxiey, depression, brain fog, dislexic symptoms, cognitive problems. Through supplements the metals were removed successfully, but my symptoms remained and are growing worse, especially the weight gain. I was referred to an Alternative physician, he did further testing and I was diagnosed with an Exhuasted or fatigued Thyroid and Adrenal Gland.
272782 tn?1213934264 After questioning this, he said he would have me go back in 2 mos for a second test. I went for my follow up TSH test on 9/6. At this time I requested the results on the first test. Medical records provided me with a copy of my blood test results. My TSH results for 7/16 were 8.36 and my FBS test and cholestoral tests were a little above average. My doc told me none of this. Called today for the results of my test of 9/6. Was told that my results were "fine".
Avatar m tn Your TSH reading may be artificially low if you are deficient in cortisol, an adrenal hormone. Another very important test for thyroid is the blood test for thyroid antibodies. Thyroid antibodies can cause symptoms even when TSH is normal. In particular, they have been shown to have a role in fertility and miscarriage.
Avatar n tn There are labs mentioned in the natural thyroid hormones group on yahoo that do the 24 hour adrenal saliva test. I see lots of folks using them. Also, have you ever had your Ferritin tested (storage iron)? LOTS of hypo folks have low Ferritin, for some reason, and I was one. It helped me to get it more optimal!
Avatar m tn Since we have been togather 14 yrs,, she has had my back 100% but she is getting just plain sick and tired of the repatition of this pill addiction( and i dont even blame her) on top of that, she is now starting to experience depression issues and very very bad stress. She has been getting horrible migrane like headaches, also she has pain in her neck and upper spine.
Avatar n tn Hotze's new book, Hormones, Health, and Happiness...and both of them get it right. I wish all doctors would read these would help so many. These docs, like some other older thyroid docs, know that TSH only picks up a small portion of hypothyroidism...and they know that blood tests can be quite useless in treating hypothyroidism.
148354 tn?1211237506 I get full after 3-4 bites of food (I never vomit ) I was 220lbs now 120lbs and I cant stop losing weight,I have to force myself to eat,I try to maintain 1,200 calories a day along with multi vitamin,I'm also noticing my hair is falling out and thinning (UGH!!!!) I have had thyroid blood test done to rule those disorders out. pcp says my appetite will return after gallbladder is out and this is common and not to worry about it.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms are nonspecific--meaning there could be several explanations. You need to see a knowledgeable health care provider; opinions of online medical professionals or forum participants won't be able to help much.
566995 tn?1217592093 I get in to read post very little these days as life has not permitted it, between being extremely busy, plust health issues with ms and doc appointmens ect....
