Avatar m tn IF your doctor tries to up your dose and you dont feel comfortable with that,, go to anouther doctor asap because it could make a huge difference. Some people really are helped tremendously with these meds,, but no one really knows if the med they are trying will or not until they actually give it a go. SSRI's are toxic in my body,,but my mom has been on prozac off and on for years and done really well on them. Oh,,, and avoid all alchohol when you first start taking them...
Avatar f tn After 4 months off meds you would have gone back to being hyper and that would account for weight loss. When you see the doctor Thursday, as a start you need to re-test for TSI, TSH, Free T4, Free T3, Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin. If you can get those done and get results before seeing the PA, we will be glad to help interpret results and advise further. Just post test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.

Avatar f tn Also I started taking high dose vitamin D (2000IU/day) and fish oil and I've found it helps to stabilize my moods on the days I remember to take it. You can also talk to your doctor if you feel you need medication. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Pregnancy wreaks havoc with our entire bodies, and can change the way you see situations and people. You can tell your SO how you're feeling, which might help. Sometimes men are just clueless. I wish you lots of luck. It does get better!
Avatar f tn At this point you don't need to be bombarded with a bunch of statistics. Take it easy, talk to your doctor, and talk to people on this forum. You will begin to learn. Most of all, you will realize that you are not alone. You have many new friends out there, and here. This is NOT a death sentence.

Avatar m tn Which is, if you meet X number of these symptoms you are likely to have depression and need a doctor's advice. For you to even suggest this fellow has a mental condition more serious than depression I find outrageous and I'd suggest strongly you desist from making such rash judgements without either information or qualifications. Please. You are hinting at bi polar due to the racing thoughts comment so why not say that instead of raising doubts as you have?
Avatar f tn If so and you are aware that it is becoming a problem then you really need to talk to your doctor, there are meds out there that can help tremendously. I am not sure if this is what you were talking about or if I am just not reading right but I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn Im so scared i dont even wanna tell my parents i just want to be alone & cry all day long with my blade in my hand .. & im scared to go to a hospital what if they take away my blade? Im so scared & super shy :'( im afraid to talk..
Avatar n tn I did call the nurse and the doctor. The doctor said that it was due to the hormone changes and that the IVF cycle took a toll on me. I am hoping to feel better after they stop the progestrone. I have only 3 more weeks of progestrone so after that I hope everything will get better. Thank you!!
Avatar f tn Hi As you get older it seams to get better. I am 58 now although I don't act or feel 58. I have a 28 year old daughter and I discovered I wasn't meant for Motherhood, don't get me wrong I love my daughter to bits but having a baby to care for was a major upsetting event in my life. Before I had my daughter I never even held a baby let alone cared for one, but all my friends were having their families and I thought we should also. We were very innocent in those days well I was.
Avatar n tn I plan to stay on my anti-depressant for several months after treatment(6 weeks to go) to let the drugs get out of my system and to let my body begin to work right again. My doctor has been very good about treating the side effects so I imagine if I had trouble after treatment, he will help then too. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn I know that I need to change doctors and get a different aproach and different views from a different doctor. I still suffer from depression and I need to make changes in my life to try and combat it. So, what about you. What's going on in your life?
393685 tn?1425816122 I read a journal on depression with thyroid issues ealier today. It really bothered me. I cried. I wanted to look past my recent nodule Dx and go back to what I think I need to do to get past this. I thought I would like to make my comment public - I hope all of you don't think weird of me - but I want all of us in support of each other. OK-- see below: ........................ Anyone who feels unhealthy for soooooooooo long like thyroid patients, gets depressed.
Avatar f tn I get most all my information from the specialty pharmacy and they are the ones that called to tell me they where shipping overnight yesterday and how often to take I have an appointment with the doctor next week and I will have all my ducks in a row as I do not think it is him. I believe it is that nurse and his staff and not aware of what they are not doing.
Avatar f tn Sounds like depression. Many people who have depression feel they want to end it. You must tell the doctor this. It does not mean they will lock you away in a mental hospital, it means he knows how you feel and can help. You MUST tell doctor, you really MUST. If it is depression, it is not easy to "snap out of it." You may need medication. As simple as that. Keep in touch with us. Take action now before you feel worse. PLEASE.
Avatar n tn First, accept the fact that you have the medical illness of depression. Then, go see a doctor to make sure it's depression, you want to make sure it's the right illness. Then depending on how major or minor your depression is, your psychologist will prescribe you antidepressants. These will help get rid of the thoughts that seem to come out of nowhere, so it really helps, atleast for me it did. I got prescribed an SSRI and in a week I saw improvement in depressed mood and anxiety.
3183328 tn?1351187117 It does take awhile for these meds to get completely in to your system. like Nursegirl said, it may take 4 to 6 weeks and after that you may need a dose increase. Try to hang in there and be patient. I know it's hard. Been there done that. I really hope this med works out for you.
667078 tn?1316004535 Realize your thoughts and what you say to a loved one are filtered through this distorted dark lens. Take some action. Depression goes with inertia. Do something positive and you start to move out of it.
Avatar m tn Hello, First of all, I want to know how to post my question to "Ask a Doctor forums for HIV" I tried to find that way but I failed. I had a protected sex with CSW in moscow last Dec. 16. Before I had a bad experience, I was so strong....
Avatar f tn I am not sure if I should bring it up to my doc. You feel so stupid walking in and telling your educated doctor to test you for something. It seems like they would have thought of that before. What do you think? Thanks for any input!
1293529 tn?1325188140 But no matter what I do my doctor's will not look at my Thyroid as a problem. I know I can try to get another doctor, but I can't keep switching doctors hoping to find one that will realize the lab ranges are out of date. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am to the point where I am contemplating buying Levo without a prescription and taking it myself. I know that is dangerous but I feel I have to take matters into my own hands now. Any advice or anyone out there who can relate?
Avatar f tn My doctor lied to me. She said my tests were normal when they were not. I have trouble standing and walking. Every time I stand or walk, I get leg pain (tight burning heaviness) that gets worse until I sit down or elevate my legs. My ankles and calves swell (with pitting edema) and get red and flushed, also. Recently my chest and hands feel heavy. My palms get flushed (deep red) when I walk. (If I raise my arms into the air, the redness in my palms fades, and they get pale.
Avatar m tn Secondly, meds don't have to be that expensive. The medicine I take for depression is cheap compared to the one I have to take for my triglycerides... real cheap. Look, this is your health and help just doesn't come walking up. You have to become an active participant in making yourself get better. It's hard work and nobody likes telling their story, over and over and over again, but it is what is necessary in order to find help.
Avatar m tn They described my injury as a neuropraxic injury, I think to the long thoracic nerve. And that can take up to two years to heal. So then is my inability to heal form this, is it because of the nerve, or the hypo... and how can I tell. Are the fatigue, anxiety, irritability etc from the injury or they hypo. Thanks for the input..
520191 tn?1355639002 So, I suggest that you ask your doctor if he is willing to test and adjust Free T3 and Free T4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. Also ask if he is willing to prescribe T3 meds. If either answer is no, then you will have to provide enough info to him to change his mind, or you will need to find a good thyroid doctor who will do both.
1139187 tn?1355710247 just a thought, it's supposedly very hard to get high levels of vitamins in our system, no matter how well you eat or how well you supplement, most you just urinate away ,don't build up in your system, and other like vitamin d are like the thyroid med, takes months to build up in your sytem there is no quick fix to it, But im not a doctor ! , so I'm NOT telling you to take vitamins !
