Avatar n tn Hello, Aside from pregnancy, a delay in the menstrual period could be due to physical or emotional stress, depression, malnutrition, sudden weight loss or gain, certain drugs, medical conditions (such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid or adrenal gland problems), breastfeeding, or others. If there is even a slight possibility of you being pregnant, you may do a home pregnancy test (HPT) one week after your missed period.
Avatar f tn Yes it does sound like anxiety/depression. These are very common symptoms of these disorders. Many of us have gone thru these very same things. Speak to your doc about it..there are many treatment options available.
Avatar f tn CNS depression doesn't refer to a mental illness. The word "depression" in that term refers to a decreased function of the central nervous system, not clinical depression. That being said, opiate use CAN cause depressive symptoms, especially when trying to taper off. Are you guys running into anything like that?

Avatar f tn The only thing you can do is ask her mom take her to another doctor, a psychiatrist would be best. But psychiatric meds aren't the best for 5 year olds. None are approved and some have warnings. They are used, however, at times. I would amp up her physical activity as it releases endorphins, the body's happy chemicals. I'd get her involved in some way in helping others. It works wonders on mind and self esteem and helps us learn about taking care of others.
Avatar f tn NA has helped a lot with improving my mental state and have had no anxiety or depression. Good luck.

Avatar m tn My wife is a beautiful and sexy fifty-six years old. I was in medications for depression for almost 10 years and I got off them 32 months ago. I still take clonazepam (1mg for the day and two 1mg at night) and Metadadate (one 20mg & one 32 Mg in the morning & same at 2 Pm). I had a heart attack in late 2002. I dropped 65 pounds and see my doctor regularly. She gave me Cialis (5mg) to be taken each day and I can get an erection if my wife and I start to be intimate.
Avatar m tn I know someone whose mental health care, along with hypothyroidism (which also causes depression and other mental health type issues), is handled by the state and the person does not do well at all...
Avatar n tn I have severe health anxiety problems. I have been treated for this in the past along with depression. I was on zoloft up until about a year ago. At that time I talked with my Dr and was taken off all meds. Since then I have been doing really well. Then my husband and I started the process of buying a new home and my son started getting cronic ear infections. This has sent me into a tale spin.
Avatar n tn You seem to be suffering from low confidence level and may be even depression. It will cause no harm to consult a counselor to assess yourself. Also please take up some physical activity like jogging, cycling, swimming etc to keep yourself fit. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn Hello, my 64-year-old father had a brain MRI and one of the impressions was/is "Suspect minimal chronic small vessel ischemic disease in the cerebral hemisphere white matter." Can someone please help me to understand what this means? The other two impressions from the MRI are as follows: 1) No evidence of acute intracranial process such as hemorrhage, acute ischemia or hydrocephalus; 2) Diffuse volume loss which appears somewhat pronounced for age.
Avatar f tn The psychiatrist has told me that I will need to take it forever. I am not depressed. My first major depression was when I was in my mid thirties. I went on and off anti depressant meds. According to the doc, my body won't produce the hormones that the meds do. Since I am getting older, I am concerned about possibly being on more meds as I get older. I am a personal trainer. Until about 6 wks ago, I did weight training and cardio workouts at least 5 days per week.
Avatar n tn i need a mental health clinic for free for depression and anxiety in ft.
Avatar f tn in pregnancy stress increases as you have ur daily problems plus all the worrying about the baby, its health n your health. Depression is part of it too, just like nausea. Try to stay calm, do whatever makes you happy, and vent it out or cry if you feel like it. I don't mean throw a tantrum. :p but from my experience i know that sharing problems and letting it out does help! Take care! Everything works out eventually so don't over think stuff. Stay blessed!
Avatar f tn The most accepted belief is that a combination of factors leads to chronic depression....those can be the hereditary factor, general state of health, environmental factors, socioeconomic status, upbringing, past life events, coping skills, etc, just to name a few. The important thing to remember is that seeking help is important if you suspect that you may be suffering from something like depression or anxiety.
Avatar f tn In November I ended up in the ER with heart palpitations. After various tests, they couldn't find anything wrong and said I'm fine. (I'm 36 with no previous health conditions). I saw a cardiologist in December and he said the palpitations are premature beats that everyone has and it's benign. I still have heart palpitations daily. I'm getting a second opinion next week because I felt the first cardiologist brushed me off and the palpitations are bothersome to me.
